Review: My husband and I contracted with this man to perform extensive remodeling of the first floor of our triplex in Pittsburgh. He was going to do the work while we were out of town as the home would not be habitable and was to begin work in February and complete it in April when we returned. We paid him half of the money up front then left town. Shortly after we left, he began texting and calling us to say that he needed the remainder of the money because of the cost of labor and materials so, because we knew him and worked with him off and on for 2 years, we sent it. That was a terrible mistake because when we returned home only about 2/3 of the work was finished, one room was and is completely uninhabitable and we have had to incur additional expenses to hire other people to even hang the light fixtures so that we could use the two rooms that were finished. He kept promising to return to finish the job but never did. He has the materials to finish the uninhabitable room but will not bring them here nor will he return the keys to our building which necessitated us having all locks re-keyed for the security of our tenants. [redacted] does not answer phone calls, texts or letters nor will he finish the job as promised and I have no more money to pay another contractor. My husband died on 9/1/14 and I depend on this triplex for my income and have been put in a desperate position by this man.Desired Settlement: I want [redacted] to bring the materials for the job to my home and either finish the work himself or refund money for the unfinished work so that I can pay another contractor to finish it.
