Ms*** brought her iPhone 4s into our store for repair of a non-functioning digitizer on July 7,Our tech replaced the digitizer twice as it did not respond to the first repairWhen she picked up the phone from our store all was
functioning properlyShe returned a week later stating it was no longer working correctlyWe then took the initiative to send the phone in for repairs at our expense to have it looked into furtherThe statement from our senior technicians with our corporate office was that some water damage had been found in the charge port which in turn was causing the battery to overheat presenting a fire hazardThe battery had to be removed and the phone was deemed unsafe
I spoke with Ms *** and tried to explain that we would refund her money for the repair we had done in storeShe refused to listen and would not stop yelling that we had done this on purposeI tried to calm her down she refused to listen and insisted we had put her phone in waterI assured her we did not do that and would never do something to damage the property of a customer's phoneHowever she was insistent that we did thisHer husband came into the store a few minutes later and threaten of the owners, an associate and the commercial sales representative accusing us of putting her phone in the toilet
We have offered to refund her moneyInstead she has chosen to attack a small business for trying to do go above and beyond to correct the situationShe did sign a legal waiver when she brought the phone in for repair which is store policy stating we are not to be held responsible for loss if damages are not of fault of our ownWe are sorry Ms *** feels we have intentionally tried to harm her that is not the case

I am completely shocked at the business's responseEverything they said in response are complete liesFirst of all, I dropped off my fully functioning phone on July 8th for a simple screen replacementI did not pick up my phone later that day, as they botched the screen repairThe company saying that I picked up my phone in functioning order and brought it back a week later is a bold faced lieI never saw my phone again in one piece after July8th and I have voicemail messages from this company to prove it during the time when I supposedly had my phone back in working orderI can't believe a nationwide company and their employees would lie like thisI have never experienced such blatant dishonesty from a company before and this is the main reason why I am continuing to pursue this furtherThey finally called me and told me that their tech department said that my phone had water damage and they pulled my battery from the motherboard, thus rendering it permanently uselessI took my phone to the technical department at Walmart the day after receiving it back in pieces from Batteries PlusI have Straight Talk with Walmart and needed to have my old phone's service and sim card transferred to the refurbished phone I bought on Amazon to replace itThe two technicians were shocked at the condition in which my phone was returned to me by Batteries PlusThey inspected my old phone and saw no indication of any water damageThey then proceeded to look up on the Apple website how to tell if an Iphone has water damageAnd of course, Apple, the billion dollar company, has a fool proof way to see from the outside of any of their devices if there has any been any contact with liquid of any kindThe white rim lining on the inside of both the charge port and the port for the head phones turns pink if it has ever been exposed to liquid of any kindWe inspected my phone for said water damage, and anyone with their naked eyes and a flash light can see that my phone did not have any water damageThe reason that Batteries Plus gave for not making good on their promise to replace my phone due to their botched repair job on the screen was because my phone had water damageThat reason has now been completely invalidatedI have attached instructions on how to see if your Iphone has had any water damage
On top of this, when the Walmart technician went to transfer the sim card from my old phone to my new phone so that I could easily transfer all of my data and coverage plan from one phone to another, my sim card was gone! Batteries Plus not only destroyed my phone, but also stole my sim card, forcing me to buy another one and activate a new coverage plan from scratchI asked Walmart why someone would want to take my sim card and their only response was, "I have no idea! To make your life harder."I also attached a photo of the receipt for the new sim card I was forced to buy
I do not understand why this company is behaving this wayAll I did was drop my phone off for a simple screen repair and did not see my phone again for daysI have attached a copy of a transcribed voice mail I received from Batteries Plus on July 13th stating that their tech department in Wisconsin had not yet received my phone from the storeIf I had received my phone back on July 8th as they stated, and then took it home for a week, why would I have received a voice mail from Batteries Plus days later apologizing for their tech department not receiving my phone yet, only days after I initially dropped it off with them for the screen repair? This makes no senseThey obviously made a mistake while replacing the screenI do not understand why they don't just take responsibility for itThe lies are completely unnecessary, especially since there is proof and I have it! I am attaching the piece of paper from when I dropped off my phone to them stating it was functioning perfectly, pictures of my phone proving no water damage, as well as the mangled battery
If needed, I can also obtain proof from Straight Talk that my phone was never used again after July 8thIf I had picked it up and brought it back a week later, I would have used it during that week I supposedly had it in my possessionThese lies are just completely unbelievableI cannot get over my shock! They also stated that I paid them and they offered me a refundI never paid them a cent! They tried to charge my husband the initial repair fee of around $when my husband went to pick up my bag of phone parts on July 22, but he refused to pay them anythingMy husband did not threaten them in any wayHe is a very calm and controlled personI did get a little heated on the phone with Stephanie when she tried to tell me my phone had water damage now and could not be repairedThe supposed water damage being the lynch pin reason why they were not going to offer to replace my phoneI knew she was lying and it really ticked me offI think I have covered everything, please let me know if you need any additional documentation, proof or statements from third partiesI am sure the Walmart technicians would agree to writing a statement if necessaryThank you for looking into this matterHonestly, this is no longer about the money, it is about the principleThis company cannot be permitted to treat people this way, with such dishonesty and without any accountability
