Pack & Bianes Vision Care is a money driven business before anything else and that takes precedence over any type of care they have to offer. I had an appointment to renew my contact prescription. Dr. Pack had suggested I try a new lens as the one I currently use was an older generation lens. I agreed, thinking that he was giving me a sample contact lens. When I got to [redacted], who explained my benefits, she said that Dr. Pack had not prescribed me anything. I have no prescription and I am out $93 because of a refitting fee. This didnt feel right because I didnt understand why it cost so much to renew my prescription and [redacted] made sure to be as vague and apathetic as possible about any questions I had. Its almost as if she purposely chose to overlook any of the social cues of confusion or discontentment I had and patiently waited for me to get over it and be on my way. I finally asked her to ask the doctor to give me my original prescription and that I dont want these trial ones. Instead of giving me any explanation; she shut me up with an extra pair of sample lenses from the doctor. Dr. Pack kept me from my original prescription because he wouldnt be able to charge me $93refitting fee for this new contact lens. [redacted] did not explain to me that all my charges were associated with this new lens. They BINDED me with this lens without explaining how it affected my insurance. If I did not ask any questions and went on my way; I would not be writing this letter. I know that with my time with [redacted], I asked enough of the right questions to be given some sort of explanation to. I am upset because they didnt inform me of what trying a new contact lens entails. They just threw me an extra pair of contacts and shooed me away. If $93 is all it takes to give up their integrity then SHAME ON THEM. All I wanted was to be given the option to choose, and apparently lining their pockets with an extra $93 was more important than their patients concerns.
