Review: John E. Curran & Sons plumber installed a gas hot water heater BOTH ILLEGALY and improperly to a 200 year old chimney with no liner 3 years ago. Subsequently the chimney deteriorated to a point beyond repair due to the condensation levels but more importantly, not only was there no liner but it was VENTED DIRECTLY INTO THE HOUSE BECUASE IT WAS NOT EVEN ATTACHED TO THE CHIMNEY. We called him repeatedly and he finally returned our call. When I explained to him our dangerous situation he said he would come out but never did . Subsequently the [redacted] fire department and the building inspector came out, shut down the unit and we were unable to use it until it was properly vented and a liner installed as GAS WAS POURING OUT OF IT INTO OUR HOME. Even after calling him with the fire department and the building inspector present and making him aware of our dangerous situation he still never called back . This was a huge cost incurred to us and done as an EMERGENCY on a Friday night . His actions and negligence could have certainly proved deadly and he has taken no responsibility for his work .
