In or around September 2010, SCI, which owns the insurance policies in question began refusing to pay the claims In October 2010, they began returning premiums to the funeral homes, stating 'this is all you will get from these policies.' Since that time, we have received $premium return for these policies Policies that we service, we give families 100% credit Mrs [redacted] 's policies were serviced thru another funeral home so we forwarded the $to them that we had received I have involved the MS Department of Insurance in this matter in the pastSCI owns and reports these policies, NOT John EStephens Chapel We are only a servicing entity I realize $is not $900, but that is all I have received, and all I would have received had my funeral home preformed these services Mrs [redacted] has a legitimate claim, but the insurance department agrees with me that it is not MY responsibility to pay what does not belong to me I am continuing to work with the Department of Insurance to resolve this matter because it has cost me thousands of dollars.Mrs [redacted] stated we had received premiums since 1988, we have not She asked why policy holders were not informed of the return of premium, and that has also been my question but I can not get SCI to respond.Again, if we had serviced this policy, we would have lost $ There have been many services where that is the case but the families we serve lose nothing....we give them full credit for these policies. We are not the bad guy in this report.Feel free to notify [redacted] with the MS Department of Insurance at 601- [redacted] Thank you [redacted]

return for these policies. Policies that we service, we give families 100% credit. Mrs. [redacted]'s policies were serviced thru another funeral home so we forwarded the $191.40 to them that we had received. I have involved the MS Department of Insurance in this matter in the past. SCI owns and reports these policies, NOT John E. Stephens Chapel. We are only a servicing entity. I realize $191.40 is not $900, but that is all I have received, and all I would have received had my funeral home preformed these services. Mrs. [redacted] has a legitimate claim, but the insurance department agrees with me that it is not MY responsibility to pay what does not belong to me. She asked why policy holders were not informed of the return of premium, and that has also been my question but I can not get SCI to respond.Again, if we had serviced this policy, we would have lost $708.60. There have been many services where that is the case but the families we serve lose nothing....we give them full credit for these policies. We are not the bad guy in this report.Feel free to notify [redacted] with the MS Department of Insurance at 601-[redacted]Thank you[redacted]
