Ms***,Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint in order to address and correct a number of inaccuracies and hopefully resolve the issueMrs [redacted] has been a customer of ours for over years and has purchased items and had work performed by us for many years prior to the purchase of the Mink coat described in the complaintBecause of this long relationship, much consideration was given to this customer in permitting her to make long term payments on this purchaseThis purchase was not a Layaway purchaseOur sales contracts are not Layaway contracts, they are sales contracts, with the expectation of being paid at inception or if necessary, giving the customer the ability to make payments until the garment is paid in fullWe have many customers that purchase fur garments and make payments either for a few months and yes, some that require an extremely lengthy period such as this oneThis customer purchased a Muskrat coat in May and made regular payments over a period of three years and five months so, there is a history and a track record with this valued customer.Mrs [redacted] purchased a Mahogany Mink coat not on 6/8/but, rather on 2/28/2006, as described on her Sales Contract #Swhich describes the garment as "Mahogany Mink Coat" with a style #size and a length of 57"The coat was a very large and a very long coat that we had in stock at the time and it would need alteration work, i.esizing down for customer, the length possibly too as it was and is a very long coatThis is noted on her original contract, "customer to fit coat at a later date"She was charged a reduced sale price of 7,plus sales taxShe paid that day and would be making monthly paymentsPayments followed, there was a payment made in October by check and a second one postdated for which for some reason was then stopped by customerFor this reason, her payments on account accurately are 6,698.67, with a balance owing of 1,7,The sold Mink coat was appropriately tagged with the customer's sales tag, id tag in pocket and the original tags from the manufacturer showing style, size and description all attachedThe coat waits for the customer in the purchase line in our in store fur vaultThere has never been another Mahogany Mink coat of this size nor length that was ever since entered into our inventory and/or sold to any other personThere exists an unbroken chain of possession and location for this purchased Mink coat ever since 2/28/Some time later on the coat was monogrammed as per the original sales contract with customer's requested name inscriptionMonthly payments have been received mostly by credit card authorized payments of 50.00, then 75.00, and then changed to since October These payments ceased after February We had received paperwork from a bankruptcy court in December informing us that Mrs [redacted] had filed bankruptcyWhen the February payment was declined, we tried contacting the customer and we assumed the customer was having a financial issue at the timeA payment was made 2/27/and we were informed to hold off with further credit card payments. In March 2015, Mrs [redacted] came into the store, I believe the first time in many many years, and asked to see her Mink coatI brought the coat out and had her put it onThe coat was big, as we knew, and would require downsizingShe asked if this was her coat and she was informed that yes it wasIt has the original id tag in the pocket and the original manufacturers tags and corroborating numbers and details attachedWe discussed how it has been many years since she has seen the coat and that we need to complete the fitting to take care of the sizingWe also broached the topic of her bankruptcy and the balance of paymentsTwo days later Mrs [redacted] called and spoke with meShe claimed to me that this was not the coat she purchased years agoI informed her that it was the Mink coat that she purchased years ago and it has been waiting for her ever since the day she first paid her initial payment.A few weeks later on 4/16/2015, Mrs [redacted] came in, this time with a friendShe tried the coat on again, she mentioned that the coat appears lighter in shade than she remembered to which I told her that after so many years not seeing the coat recollections of exact shading can be offIt happens periodically with other customers even on their own remodeled garments after six to eight months of not seeing their garmentWe then talked about getting the resizing taken care of and that I would need to take her measurements as the garment would have to be taken apart in order to size down properlyBy doing this, she would also reap the benefit of having a good amount of remnant Mink that can be used for accessories and that by using this Mink she could make these items at about half the priceShe was happy with thatI took measurements, made an adjustment receipt acknowledging the alteration work we were now doing, her measurements and the new length for the finished garmentThis was to be done at no charge of courseIn addition, Mrs [redacted] then contracted with us to make a Mink Hat and a Mink Necklace from the remnant Mink from her coat at a cost of for bothShe signed all the paperwork for the coat modification and the manufacturing of the Hat and Necklace and she received her copies of all transactionsHer Mink coat was taken to the back workroom to complete the necessary alteration work that was approved that day.Three weeks later on 5/6/2015, Mrs [redacted] called and spoke to meShe told me that she wanted to cancel this Mink coat purchase claiming again this is not the coat she purchased years agoI assured her again that it wasShe then changed her message and told me that she does not like the coat anymore and she doesn't think she should have to pay 7,for a coat she does not likeI informed her that it was a bit too late for this as the garment had gone to the workroom and was taken apart as per the work order written up on 4/16/She told me to think about it and do the right thingI have had no communication since with the customerThe only thing to transpire since was the phone call placed by [redacted] who made spurious and claims regarding both this garment belonging to Mrs [redacted] and another case that has nothing to do with Mrs [redacted] He wanted me to refund her money and that for an additional fee, he would make things go awayI refuted any claim he made regarding Mrs [redacted] The following Monday I had an attorney contact Mr [redacted] to make very clear that this was a spurious and claim and that we would vigorously deal with bothNow, after reading the complaint, I have a little bit of the rest of the story.Mrs [redacted] has gone through a difficult period of timeNow that she has filed bankruptcy and has lived without this Mink coat for years, she figures that by making her claims and allegations she can reverse years of payments and pick up some cash that she could otherwise use for something elseI have held her coat religiously for years, monogrammed her coat, and now have taken it apart to complete the original resizing as noted on her original paperworkI am fully prepared to complete the requested alteration, finish and reline Mrs [redacted] ' Mink coatShe can have the same accommodation of making a monthly payment until completionThank you for your cooperation in this matter[redacted] President

Thank you again for the opportunity to respond to additional inaccurate descriptions and portrayals of what took place when Mrs***- [redacted] was in the store back in March and April of this yearBoth times that Mrs***- [redacted] came in March and again in April, the same Mahogany Mink coat that she purchased was brought to herNot a Blonde colored coat and not a multi-colored coatAlso, it was not a stiff and hard coat, it was the luxurious Mink coat that she purchased over years ago and this was now the first time that she had been in the store in probably five years and I'm not even sure if she has looked at her Mink coat for years before thatOne thing for sure, this is and has always been the Mahogany Mink coat that she purchased almost and a half years agoIn my previous response, I made mention that when Mrs***- [redacted] commented back on 4/16/that the coat appears lighter in shade than she remembered, I responded to her that after so many years of not seeing a coat that she purchased (and possibly saw for an hour when purchasing), recollections of exact shading can be offThe only thing I can add to this is that the customer purchased this garment in our previous showroom that had more subdued lighting and the showroom we have now has significantly brighter lighting that can impact on shading perceptionMrs***- [redacted] refers to purchasing a Sable Mink coatI don't know what that isThere is a Sable coat, a completely different kind of fur, longer haired than MinkIf she is referring to color, most natural Sables are close in shading or lighter than the Mahogany Mink coat she purchasedMy hand was not shaking when putting the Mink coat on the customer, I do not suffer from any malady nor was there then or now anything to be nervous aboutFurthermore, I never told Mrs***- [redacted] that I had relined or changed the lining of the garmentThe only discussion regarding a lining would have been when we discussed the resizing and that we would reuse the same lining and modify itI reiterate again as I wrote previously this is the only Mink coat, Mahogany or any shade that I have ever had in inventory with the same style, size, length and sweepThe only oneIt is a very full sized garment with a lot of sweep, fullness and long lengthThe last garment that Mrs***- [redacted] purchased over years ago was a Black dyed Muskrat coat with Black dyed sheared BeaverBlack and dyedAs far as MrS [redacted] and a case that took place five years ago is concerned, both have no connection nor bearing in this instanceThis is the exact Mink coat that Mrs***- [redacted] purchased and a half years agoThere is an unbroken chain of possession for this garment held in our purchase line in our store vault from the day she purchased this coat Moreover, Mrs***- [redacted] had her measurements taken for the necessary downsizing and further, contracted at additional expense, the manufacturing of a Hat and a Necklace from the remnant Mink saved from the alterationThis doesn't sound like the action of someone that doesn't want nor doesn't think this is her coatThis is the beautiful Mahogany Mink coat that Mrs***- [redacted] purchasedIt has been taken apart as she contracted us to do back in April to downsize properly and awaiting further completion of payments.Thank you, [redacted] Furs
