I will address each issue found in her complaintThe replacement of the bathroom and laundry floors were discussed and agreed upon after the 04/25/site meetingMaterial was ordered and installation was based on the availability and delivery of the flooring material to our locationThe flooring material was back- orderedI received notice on 06/07/the last piece of the flooring material was to be delivered on 06/10/I called the contractor to set up the installation for 06/15/16, as long as the material was delivered on time.During my site visit with the contractor on 06/25/16, I ran the water into the shower for about minutesYes, water does accumulate in the shower floor like many showers of this size with multiple shower headsWhen the water is turned off all but about a 1/cup of water drains out of the shower, not including what stays in the grout joints of the floorHer “new theory” was addressed based on the following statement in her first notice she wrote “while in the shower, one has to stand in a big puddle”This is because more water is entering the shower than the drain can evacuate to keep the shower floor free of excess waterWhen the shower water is turned off the water goes down the drain in a short period of time like many showers of this size with a 2” drain. The flooring industry has adopted the practice of independent inspectors to offer their professional insight when parties can’t agree on a solutionA certified independent inspector is not associated to the homeowner, flooring contractor or the manufacturerHe or she is a certified professional who speaks using the facts and best standard practices of the industryTo claim a charge of bias to an educated certified professional speaks volumesAn evaluation by a certified independent inspector is the proper course of action to resolve this issue. As far as the discoloration of the grout, tests must be done to determine the causeThe grout is epoxy and no sealer was used by my company because no sealer is required with an epoxy groutI asked the contractor again on 06/15/16, while at the site overseeing the vinyl replacement when I could test the groutHe was going to contact me and to date has notAs I stated before; all the epoxy grout came from the same unit and to have a small area discolor is almost impossibleThe most logical explanation is some contaminate came in contact with the grout after installationI can offer a better explanation after testing has been completed.Regards, Dave T*** Flooring Department Manager John HMyers & Son*** *** Street York, PA ###-###-####

Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:
They have made no effort to fix any of the problems with the showerThey have made no effort to contact me about any of the issues like the staining, that they wanted to look atI believe that I addressed all of the issues brought up in the last JH Myer's email and I don't think it would be helpful to repeat myselfI would be glad to answer any new concerns or questionsI believe it is clear that they do not want to address these issues in any sort of meaningful wayThat is why I contacted the Revdex.com
Sincerely,
Sue Luba

John H. Myers & Son agrees with some of the customers points and disagrees with other claims they have made. I was brought into the discussion in mid-April of 2016 and completed a site visit followed by a detailed course of action dated 04/25/2016. In regards to the vinyl flooring in the 2...

bathrooms and the laundry, confirmed during my visit there is a problem and we need to replace those floors. We placed an order with our distributor in early May after the customer confirmed they wanted the same colors. Updates for delivery were given on May 17" and May 31'. The material was received and an installation date of Wednesday June 15, 2016 was agreed upon by the owner, general contractor and John H. Myers & Son. At this same time we agreed to trim the vinyl plank-flooring so it has more room to expand adjacent to a large glass door with a Southern exposure. The heat through the door glass is excessive and expands the floating vinyl plank floor, Causing ripples in the floor. Suggested the customer have a window treatment installed to help control the temperature and Suns effect on the floor. They choose not to have a window treatment. The general contractor will instal a quarter-round trim as per manufacturer’s directions. The extra large walk-in shower is another issue. During my inspection let the water run about 10 minutes. The amount of water that accumulates at the corner of the drain after the shower water is turned off is less than a V2 cup of water. In my detailed course of action, suggested an independent flooring inspector offer his evaluation because the shower floor meets industry standards. The plumber installed a 2" drain pipe. If the water is not draining out fast enough during a shower, a 3’ or 4" drain pipe maybe should have been specified by the plumber. In my course of action email, also offered to spend time testing the discoloration of the grout. My assumption is some contaminate was splashed on the area of the grout and is causing the discoloration. This was determined because the epoxy grout came from one mixed unit and 90% of the grout is not affected. The customer has not allowed the testing to take place. The glass trim accent tile is chipped and the general contractor was informed, John H. Myers will replace those few pieces once the draining issues have been Settled. There is a separation at a doorway between the wood floor and a piece of trim. This occurs because of substrate movement. Unfortunately there is no flooring System that will hold a moving structure in place. AS long as there is movement, the floor and trim will reflect that expansion and contraction. offered to reinstall the trim, but can't guarantee it won't open again with Structure movement.Regards, Dave T[redacted] Flooring Department ManagerJohn H.
