John H Myers & Son Reviews (1)

John HMyers & Son agrees with some of the customers points and disagrees with other claims they have madeI was brought into the discussion in mid-April of and completed a site visit followed by a detailed course of action dated 04/25/In regards to the vinyl flooring in the bathrooms and the laundry, confirmed during my visit there is a problem and we need to replace those floorsWe placed an order with our distributor in early May after the customer confirmed they wanted the same colorsUpdates for delivery were given on May 17" and May 31'The material was received and an installation date of Wednesday June 15, was agreed upon by the owner, general contractor and John HMyers & SonAt this same time we agreed to trim the vinyl plank-flooring so it has more room to expand adjacent to a large glass door with a Southern exposureThe heat through the door glass is excessive and expands the floating vinyl plank floor, Causing ripples in the floorSuggested the customer have a window treatment installed to help control the temperature and Suns effect on the floorThey choose not to have a window treatmentThe general contractor will instal a quarter-round trim as per manufacturer’s directions. The extra large washower is another issueDuring my inspection let the water run about minutesThe amount of water that accumulates at the corner of the drain after the shower water is turned off is less than a Vcup of waterIn my detailed course of action, suggested an independent flooring inspector offer his evaluation because the shower floor meets industry standardsThe plumber installed a 2" drain pipeIf the water is not draining out fast enough during a shower, a 3’ or 4" drain pipe maybe should have been specified by the plumberIn my course of action email, also offered to spend time testing the discoloration of the groutMy assumption is some contaminate was splashed on the area of the grout and is causing the discolorationThis was determined because the epoxy grout came from one mixed unit and 90% of the grout is not affectedThe customer has not allowed the testing to take place. The glass trim accent tile is chipped and the general contractor was informed, John HMyers will replace those few pieces once the draining issues have been Settled. There is a separation at a doorway between the wood floor and a piece of trimThis occurs because of substrate movementUnfortunately there is no flooring System that will hold a moving structure in placeAS long as there is movement, the floor and trim will reflect that expansion and contractionoffered to reinstall the trim, but can't guarantee it won't open again with Structure movement.Regards, Dave T [redacted] Flooring Department ManagerJohn HMyers & Son
