Consumer states that he went into the business on 4/19/2012 and saw Dr. [redacted] thinking he needed surgery. The doctor talked him out of surgery stating that it was unnecessary and convinced him to buy orthopedic inserts. When the consumer asked the cost, he was told that the inserts were going to be $400. The consumer explained that he had insurance that was costing him over $400 a month and the doctor's office told him that it would be more cost effective to cancel his insurance since the inserts were a cheaper out of pocket expense than the insurance itself. Consumer states that he cancelled his insurance.

In early May, he states that he went back in for a follow-up appointment to have his feet looked at again and he was again told to get the inserts for $400. He made the order for the inserts. He later states that he received a bill for the x-rays which was $238.00 and also a bill for the inserts which was $1176.11. He was fine with the x-ray bill but the bill for the inserts is ridiculous and not at all what he was told. He has tried to contact the doctor and the office and they won't talk to him.
