Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Working around furniture seems to be a big problem listed by Mr [redacted] However, to be factual, the room isn’t even that big The two couches and table are about x at most Less that half of what he said And the amount of completed work was way less than half of what he said However, my wife ask the floor contractor about working around furniture just as she did ask Mr [redacted] , and I am pleased that they are having no trouble with it at all Mr [redacted] did tell my wife prior to starting the job that working around the furniture would be “no problem”As it turns out, the problem is now ours since we found paint speckles on our dining table, and on several door knobs and on our Wesley Allen bedframe So now we have the expense and problem of cleaning up a lot of extra things that were not supposed to be painted And while I am discussing what was and was not supposed to be painted, we notice that a couple of the electrical outlets were not covered properly and were spackled and painted This is certainly an out of code no-no Attached is a picture of what happened I am lucky a fire did not get startedSubsequently, I discovered that the floor contractor guys burned up their shop vac when the paint shorted out the plug I have a picture I will attempt to upload to show how Mr [redacted] 's crew painted the outlet and caused it to fail We were fortunate that a breaker popped The new contractor for painting pointed out areas where [redacted] texture machine was not working properly and all these areas need to be re-painted.Also, there are several large areas where the texture was never applyThis reputable contractor will cost me over thousand dollars extra and will be re-doing all of [redacted] ’s effortsFurthermore, I have never issued a complaint on a business before, but I am proud if I help anyone from going through what we have had to endure with this supposed contractor I have been married for years and my wife never cried until Mr [redacted] caused her so much distress I am also glad he mentioned the electrician did all his work in one day That is true! The customers home was filled in every room with furnishings. This allowed me and workers 2-3 to make sheetrock repairs. Texturing and painting almost impossible. The ceilings were also next to impossible to paint in same fashion. The demo of all tiled floors were also delayed due to the 20x20 stack...

of furniture and belongings. We removed countertops and tile in 2 days. Including ceiling fans. Light fixtures. The painting was so hindured by customers schedule,we had to paint 90 percent of home in 2 days during record winds and rain.upon their other 4 days of absence, I had their deck removed and replaced.the lighting was installed in one day and the only thing lacking per contract was the baseboard trim ,which could only be laid after new flooring was finished. Thats when customers decided to verbally assault me and refuse payment on contract. I suppose customers failed to mention the free ceiling to floor painting of their upstairs office . It seems the affluent visiters to Corpus Christi dont care wether or not to pay hard working men with children who work on their beach homes. This complaint is invalid and the hard work of my coworkers should not be lessened by people who have no respect for their efforts. My customers owe me approximately 3800 and should be ashamed of themselves.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Mr. [redacted] is claiming it as finished.  The new painting contractor said that there were so many areas of concern that he would have to re-texture and re-paint everything Mr. [redacted] tried to do.  This at an expense of 6000.00 dollars.  That means I am out a lot more money because of Mr. [redacted]’s inferior workmanship.  Also, I will be out money for replacing the electric outlets he painted, the door knobs he painted and trying to clean our kitchen table and our bed frame that he painted. The trim that was supposed to be done in Mr. [redacted]’s contract is still not accounted for either and will cost me an additional 1000.00 to 1500.00 dollars.  I have done a calculation of the number of hours his crew spend on our project.  Approximately 120 labor hours were worked in 18 days as we waited for him to get something done. (that is giving them credit for showing up late, 2 + hour lunches and being idle while waiting on Mr. [redacted] to bring materials)   We paid out  $7,773.50. He had very little in materials and paint because so little was done.   Unless he is paying his subs about 50 dollars an hour he should be just fine.  He also reneged on the floor demolition portion of our contract and that I had to pay the floor contractors an addition 1000.00 to do work he had promised. My wife and I strongly feel as though Mr. [redacted] has stolen from us and has defaulted on the contract through gross incompetence.  He had already worked us for extra money twice and was attempting to get more money when I requested he discontinue any further work and discontinue any contact with my  wife.  We felt as though he would just take the last amount of money owed and be gone with it.  After 3 weeks of excuses, stories and failures, we had zero confidence in Mr. [redacted] and we do feel alot better now dealing with competent people even though we are out at least 4000.00 extra to fix the mess he left us in.
Regards,
[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:Working around furniture seems to be a big problem listed by Mr. [redacted].    However, to be factual, the room isn’t even that big.  The two couches and table are about 10 x 8 at most.  Less that half of what he said.  And the amount of completed work was way less than half of what he said.  However, my wife ask the floor contractor about working around furniture just as she did ask Mr. [redacted], and I am pleased that they are having no trouble with it at all.  Mr. [redacted] did tell my wife prior to starting the job that working around the furniture would be “no problem”. As it turns out, the problem is now ours since we found paint speckles on our dining table, and on several door knobs and on our Wesley Allen bedframe.  So now we have the expense and problem of cleaning up a lot of extra things that were not supposed to be painted.  And while I am discussing what was and was not supposed to be painted, we notice that a couple of the electrical outlets were not covered properly and were spackled and painted.  This is certainly an out of code no-no.  Attached is a picture of what happened.  I am lucky a fire did not get started. Subsequently, I discovered that the floor contractor guys burned up their shop vac when the paint shorted out the plug.  I have a picture I will attempt to upload to show how Mr. [redacted]'s crew painted the outlet and caused it to fail.    We were fortunate that a breaker popped.  The new contractor for painting pointed out 3 areas where [redacted] texture machine was not  working properly and all these areas need to be re-painted.Also, there are several large areas where the texture was never apply. This reputable contractor will cost me over 2 thousand dollars extra  and will be re-doing all of [redacted]’s efforts. Furthermore, I have never issued a complaint on a business before, but I am proud if I help anyone from going through what we have had to endure with this supposed contractor.  I have been married for 9 years and my wife never cried until Mr. [redacted] caused her so much distress.  I am also glad he mentioned the electrician did all his work in one day.  That is true! Yet only after my wife wasted 3 entire days waiting for an electrician to show.  Our time is worth something also.  And when we talked to the electrician, he actually didn’t even know Mr. [redacted],  he just hired him out of Home Depot for the day.  I think that is not the practice of a real contractor.  Through this entire process, Mr. [redacted] continually has so many excuses and problems from his home life and treated us like he was paying us or his services.  Mr. [redacted] has too many issues to list so I will stop here for now. I have more and I have photographic evidence of all the statements I have made.

Once again I will state the facts of this complaint. The only work left to complete on this legally binding contract was the floor trim and decorative wall trim. The customer texted me on morning directly after day of texture. If allowed to return to home following day, there would not have been ANY outlets with materials on them. As for the electrical sub. He is a very reputable business owner that I did run into with an employee while getting all the material I was going to need. Lowes is a very popular destination for both contrators and workers in this area. Again I state the fact that after being cussed. Insulted and threatened with physical violence from mr [redacted] to scare off the small business owner. I still tried an amicable solution. Without foul language or threats.some people will do or say just about anything to keep from paying the little guys in the business world.
