I recently had a tire blow out, and so I sought the services of Discount Tire in Madison, WI to order, replace, and install a new tire After ordering the specific tire with them, I had not heard back in over a week I called again to check in, and they say the tire was never ordered The employee claims he ordered another one for me Another week and a half goes by, without receiving the tire I give a call to the store, and they find they have one in stock now I asked why I wasn't told to come in, as was the appropriate process Their response was "we must have called the wrong number, even though we only have one phone number for you in our system." Come time to replace the tire, it should have been an easy task there were Kumho brand tires already on the car, they just needed to replace the obvious spare so that all tires were the same I made sure to specify with the service writer that the Driver's Front tire is the one to be replaced When I received my car back the Driver's Front tire was untouched, still mismatched, as the mechanic had replaced the wrong tireThey did not offer to correct this mistake when I pointed it out, I had to specifically state that I needed them to replace the correct tireAutomotive Maintenance is not something I want to find simple mistakes from While changing a single spare tire may seem innocuous, I fear for anyone getting more involved work done at this facilityThey are objectively the most cost efficient option I've found around Madison, but I'll gladly pay another $to ensure my business is completed by a company and mechanic that has reasonable standards
I HAD CALLED TWO DIFFERENT TIMES TO ASK IF DISCOUNT TIRE HAD A SPECIFIC TIRE BRAND AND TYPE ON STOCK AND THEY SAID THEY DID WHEN I GOT IN THE STORE, THEY DID NOT HAVE THE TIRE TYPE IT SEEMED OR APPEARED TO BE A BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM I THEN SELECTED EQUIVALENT BRAND AND TYPE AND THEY WANTED TO SELL COVERAGE FOR THE TIRES AND THE SALESMAN ASKED IF I WOULD COVER AT LEAST ONE OF THE TIRES WHICH SEEMED TO BE UPSELLING SCAM LASTLY THEY SAID THAT I NEEDED TO BUY NEW LUG NUTS FOR MY AUTO FOR SAFETY AND INSISTED ON IT EVEN THOUGH THE LUG NUTS WHICH WERE ON MY AUTO ARE (OEM) ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT OF MANUFACTURER WHICH SEEMED TO BE UPSELLING SCAM THEY PUT THEIR LUG NUTS ON MY AUTO EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T REQUEST IT IN THE PROCESS THEY HAD CRACKED AT LEAST ONE OF THE HUBCAPS AND ONE TO TWO HUBCAPS WERE LOOSE AFTER THEY HAD WORKED ON MY AUTO
