This company is a scam. The work is terrible and customer service even worse. They sealed my driveway and 4 hours later it rained and washed it away. I've called 4-5 times to have it fixed or get my money back since they say they back their work for 1 year. Each time I get told someone will be out but no one ever called or comes. I talk to this company today 11/7/19 and was told it isn't getting fixed and I will not get my money back. So I'm out. They have given the excuse of the same person dying two weeks in a row lol Didn't know people could die twice. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!

Review: I called John Sparrow asphalt and paving Co. to fill in the cracks and to put down a sealer on the whole driveway. They did not do a proper job and after 3 weeks whatever they put on the drive way is coming off and is being tracked into my home. not only does the driveway look like a mess it is getting on my newly refinished floors and any other walking surface.I called him twice and he tells me someone in his company did the job, not him. He gets this person to call me back and that person has given me a run a round twice.I contracted John Sparrow to do this job and since I had never seen him I did not know it was not him doing the work. When they got there the first thing the nephew of John Sparrow whom id never seen says to me, we have some extra asphalt from a previous job and for $50.00 more dollars we can cover the cracks and I told him I thought that was what I understood that was suppose to be done any way and he said no and gave a lame excuse as he was walking away. I said go ahead then. Regardless of who did the job in this company the check was made out to John Sparrow.Please people before you hire this company, check on them a lot.Desired Settlement: I would like the whole $ 850.00 returned to me from John Sparrow.

John Sparrow I am writing this letter 2 state what my nephew says occurred on this job he was the salesman he States the facts to be true and honest this lady we did the driveway for sealcoating patch and fix cracks wind driveway was completed she called me complaining about the drive was a different color and she stated the crack filler wasn't level with the driveway and I told her there's no way you can level out crack filler so we debated what to do so it was my idea to give her half of the money back with her signature on a written letter stating not to call the Revdex.com and to be satisfied with that she agreed to it I told her within 2 weeks will get this resolved and taken care of but she called back asking me why I haven't sent the check to her not but a couple of days later being very sarcastic and rude to me saying she's going in for surgery so I tried calling her back no response then it occur to me she's having her surgery like she said she was so me being patient and waiting till she gets out so we can resolve this matter but instead she proceeds without telling me and call the Revdex.com and Slanders my business name and not stating what she said in the beginning of her complaint all it was she said the crack filler wasn't level I never said anything about leftover blacktop at all her and the husband both agreed on some patching three areas on the edges that were broken off and agreed to have it done it was a fresh new bag of patch they've both seen I did not promise or say anything about putting Asphalt in the cracks I know better than that with experience that it won't stay or hold up a sealed and patched and filled the cracks with Hot Tar I gave her a one-year warranty I stated I'll come back and do my best with fixing the driveway but with experience there's no way possible to turn crack filler to Asphalt I'm guessing she was playing games with me knowing that the driveway needed to be paved with a 2 inch thick new asphalt for it to come out the way she wanted it to I did recommend it to her and specifically said if it's not going to be paved it's more like putting a Band-Aid on it instead on account of shape the driveway was in with it cracked up and decaying I've been doing this long enough to know better not to destroy my good name but to make it known by keeping my customer satisfied I'm still agreed to pay half back to her.

My husband said to accept the $ 425.00 because this person is not going to fix anything. I will have to hire someone else to fix my drive way. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

This is John Sparrow the owner of John's Sparrow Paving I have been waiting to hear from the lady and have not yet heard her by telephone today I am going to send a check or money order to her with a return receipt to prove that you did receive it I also would like to say out there to all contractors that might read this or other people you cannot please everybody we tried very hard the check will be for one half of the original job price I feel that is more than Fair !

Review: Company was paid an initial one-half payment of $1,375 (total $2750) to provide asphalt paving overlay. The day the job was completed, service personnel, David Boswell stopped by to check our satisfaction and pick up 2nd half of check. We voiced concern to David that the asphalt had an excessively high ridge on one side and indicated to him that the ridge could cause for car drop-offs and create damage to car. He agreed. We suggested to hold entire half of check until job was complete to our satisfaction. He further suggested that he understood our concern and assured us he would get his crew back out to our home by the next morning. He appeared to be dismayed with the fact that his crew did not neatly cleanup the edges of the driveway and that one side of the driveway was left so high. He convinced us to hold only $200 and gave us his word that he would be back the next morning. We withheld only $200. It has been 30 days and we have not heard from this company.Desired Settlement: Repair high side of driveway to proper level.
