We are sorry that [redacted] feels the way he does towards John Watson Chevrolet and some if our employees We value our relationship with his business and have tried to explain our policy as it relates to potentially faulty parts Our return policy is quite simple If our service department performs any service and installs parts and those parts are covered under a GM month warranty, return the vehicle and we will install a new part at no charge If the customer chooses to go elsewhere to have the service performed, bring in the old part and a receipt showing that the same GM part was purchased and installed and we will reimburse the cost of the of the part In this particular case, we have asked for a receipt showing where a new part was purchased and [redacted] has refused to provide a receipt ***'s business purchased the ECM from us, sent the vehicle down with the old ECM in it, ***'s people swapped out the old ECM for the new in our parking lot and asked us to program itWe couldn't program it, their people came back and determined that when they swapped it out they failed to plug it in, we then attempted to program it the ECM was setting error codes and we would need to get Chevrolet involved and need the vehicle for a couple of days ***'s people indicated that their customer was already mad and wanted the vehicle back and would not allow us time to properly determine the problem Most all the technicians time was done at no charge and the small charge they did have was discounted My parts manager got involved when [redacted] told him that both he and his customer were upset with John Watson Chevrolet The vehicle being worked on had been in our shop prior to [redacted] ever having it in his, and since he said that person was mad at us, and since [redacted] would not provide receipt of having purchased another ECM, he tried to back track to get a receipt for the other ECM and help make both [redacted] and the other customer happy As it turned out, the owner of the vehicle is a used car lot that we do a fair amount of business with Again, this whole problem can be solved if we can get a receipt for the purchase of a GM ECM part that matches what was originally purchased from us As to my failure to call, I have one message on June 5th at 11:am Both people involved in this were available today to get with to get the history behind this complaint Since a complaint has been filed with the Revdex.com, the remedy to fixing this is described herein and we will honor our policy on defective parts when a receipt for purchase can be provided
