Johnny Coleman Builders, Inc. Reviews (2)

Johnny Coleman Builders, Inc. has VERY POOR customer service and they do not honor their warranties at all.We purchased our home in February of 2012. At the time of purchase, as the house was new, we were given a 1 year builder's warranty that covered everything as well as a standard 2-10 [redacted]. We were given a form to complete and send end at the end of our first year that detailed all necessary repairs (like settling cracks, nail pops, etc.) that needed repair at the end of that first year. We completed our form and mailed it (Certified Mail) in January of 2013. As the letter was sent Certified Mail, we received confirmation that the letter was indeed received by the business and even know who signed for it. It is now February of 2014 and we still have not heard anything from Johnny Coleman Builder's about our warranty request. We have called and emailed them a number of times about it, but no one every answers the phone at the number we were given nor do they reply to emails. Our roof has been leaking every time it rains for over a year now, but again we can not seem to reach anyone to take care of this. When we do get to speak to a real person from the list of numbers we were given at the time of purchase, they usually put us off on someone else. who again puts us off on someone else... This is very frustrating. Furthermore, when I tried to look up our Buyer 2-10 information on the website we were given at the time of purchase, our registration was no where to be found. This was one of the forms Johnny Coleman Builder's was supposed to send in after the closing was completed, but it appears they neglected to do so. Desired SettlementI am not seeking any type of monetary settlement. I just want the service(s) I was promised in our initial agreement.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)It is interesting they say my initial complaint "fell through the cracks" and more interesting is their statement that they never received a mailed document stating our warranty requests. They clearly received both my CERTIFIED letter mailed to them in January of 2012 (I have the signed receipt confirming the date and time it was received as well as the name of the party who signed for it) and my initial Revdex.com complaint filed in February of 2014. I know both were received because they did began calling me about the items listed in the letter I sent them; PLUS the repairmen that were sent out ALLL had a copy of the letter with the listed complaints. They would not have had this list had you not received it. While I do appreciate the fact that you did eventually respond to some the items listed (all items have not yet been addressed), it should not have taken a Revdex.com complaint to get you to do what you have agreed to do when we signed our contract. Furthermore, you have offered no explanation as to why our Builder's 2-10 warranty was never registered as is stated in our contract. We still have a leaking roof which should be covered in our 2-10 warranty, but when I contacted them, our property was never registered.Business Response Below statement from my attorney states where the problem lies which is with the buyers closing company.. Please strike from my record and provide me a confirmation immediately. Thank you. Original MessageFrom: [redacted] To: [redacted] Sent: Mon, Jul 21, 2014 5:55 pmSubject: [redacted], Attached is the unsigned 2-10 that we send to the opposing closing agent's office prior to closing that require the buyer's initials and signature. I have also attached a copy of the original that was initialed and signed by you and sent in our swap to [redacted] 2-10 requires the original of both parties signatures along with the check. Since we only represented you, we would not have cut a check to 2-10 or sent out the form, that would have fallen to [redacted] to cut the check and send in the form(s). If 2-10 doesn't have a record of a warranty for Mr. [redacted], what happened to the $417.73 that was collected from you for it and disbursed by [redacted] Thank you,[redacted]Law Office of [redacted] P.C.[redacted], MS XXXXX(XXX) XXX-XXXX

Johnny Coleman Builders at[redacted], MS 38671 build a home that I purchased at [redacted], MS 38672. I closed on the home on December 19, 2013 and I have contacted the builder agent to notify them to notify them of problems that are covered under my one year warranty. I have previously notified Johnny Coleman Builders in writing and via telephone. The concrete contractor got very irate with me when I have continued to contract him concerning repairs. The representative in the Johnny Coleman sales office has also ignored my request for repairs. I have continued to call with no responses given or a call back.I have the following problems that remain unsolved:Water standing at the front of my door and driveway when it rains. It is impossible to get to my front door without walking in deep puddles of water when it rains. There has not been adequate grass growth due to periods of standing water .The concrete in the garage and driveway have several long cracks and breaks throughout. A base board inside of the garage is cracked and needs to be replaced. The only resolution that would be fair to me as the consumer would be for Johnny Coleman Builders to redo the concrete in the garage and driveway. The yard needs some sort of drain or to be redone to prevent water build up in the yard and front door when it rains. The board in the garages needs to be replaced and painted. A one year warranty was provided by the builder and it will be up on December 19, 2014 and is still in effect and I have continually tried to get these problems resolved. I would like for the builder to honor this contractual agreement. A copy of his letter will also be provided to Johnny Coleman Builders.Sincerely,Business Response After consulting with my customer service representative and others in this synopsis, I have come to the following conclusions.Homeowners has extended gutter drain in an inappropriate way causing this problem. The cracks in the drive are minor hairline cracks that do not call for repair according to the owner homeowner' book and HBW manual. The base board is a cosmetic feature that was not on the homeowner's list at walk through; nor on the one month list.I will consult again with my service man and granite/trim man, in the meantime Ms. [redacted] can contact HBW for a 3rd party to review. She agreed to mediate in signing her HBW Warranty.Thank you for contacting me and the opportunity to address this issue.Sincerely,Johnny Coleman
