Review: In July, 2011, I purchased a [redacted] Air Conditioning Unit, Model [redacted] ($2,800.), and evap Coil ($1,400) from this firm. The unit was installed on July 18, 2011 by a technician whose manner was extremely unfriendly and surly. He never provided any documentation about the unit which, from the beginning, never worked as well as the [redacted] unit I replaced. It did not seem to have the cooling capacity of my original unit. This year it stopped working at the start of the cooling season. I called in a different firm to diagnose the problem because I did not have much confidence that the firm that had installed it improperly would provide an honest diagnosis of the problem. The information I received stated that refrigerant was leaking from the unit because of improper or incompetent installation--"it was not brazed properly. Refrigerant needed to be replaced and the connections fixed." Since the unit was under warranty, I did not want another company to do any repairs, but I had needed information. I called [redacted] He was immediately rude and abusive on the phone. He wanted no information about the problem I was experiencing, but asked if I remembered the name of the person who had done the installation. I did not. (However, when I saw him today, rude, surly and abusive as he had been on the phone, I recognized him as the installer.) Yesterday He sent [redacted], a pleasant person, who worked on the unit. The unit began to work, and [redacted] said to give it time. The thermostat at that point was at 87 degrees. When this morning, after the unit had been working for 18 hours, the thermostat only registered 80 degrees, I called [redacted] again. He shouted at me again but then said he would come out. He came, tested output from one vent, and said the unit was working perfectly, though it still registered 80 degrees after working an additional 5 hours. I insisted he check further, but he said everything was fine and shouting that I was terrible, he leftDesired Settlement: 1) I'd like a working unit that cools as it should. The fact that it's hot out does not mean that the air conditioner should not work. Based on what the tech from the other company told me, the refrigerant which [redacted] called Freon, but should actually be something else, needed to be drained and replaced with new refrigerant. I would like this repair done so the unit works properly. I really don't know if the correct refrigerant was put in the unit at the time the faulty installation took place. If [redacted]'s company would not like to repair the unit, I want them to pay for another firm to do the work since the unit was sold by [redacted]'s company and, as far as I can understand based on the little information I have, it is under their warranty.

2) I'd also like documentation of everything that this company has done and documentation for the unit itself. [redacted] stated he warrantied products for 5 years. I would like his statement of warranty.

7/19/11 – installed new 3.5 ton condensing unit and coil[redacted]

7/18/13 – warranty repair – repaired refrigerant leak by filter dryer – pressure tested vacuumed and charged system7/19/13 returned to home because she said unit not working – there was 61 degrees coming out of vents – system working well today.

Above is the service history of this customer at no time since the install did the customer had a problem with the operation of the system installed. As you can see we did fix the problem and did not charge the customer for any repairs done. The week she said the unit was not keeping up was when it was 100 degrees outside. As far as how we treated this customer lets just say you get treated the way you treat others.
