I got a letter of a complaint *** *** filed towards my business Johnny Auto Center. The day the vehicle came in to get serviced it was brought by someone else (male)It was also at a previous shop where she mentioned she got an oil change doneThe gentleman came in with an *** ***
diagnostic printout and an oxygen sensor he had bought himselfHe asked us how much we would charge just to install the sensor, after negotiating prices the business and the customer agreed on 50$He later left that day and came back the following friday and told us check engine light was back on and the printout said oxygen sensor and said we replaced the wrong one, I told him it was fine I would remove the oxygen sensor he bought and install it in the correct bank, but it would have to be the next day in the morning because I was already booked up for the day and was not able to do itWe agreed he was going to return the next day early in the morning but did not show upHe then called in the afternoon/evening time saying his engine blew and then *** *** took over on the phone conversation and was saying the engine blew because we messed up replacing the oxygen sensorI told her replacing an oxygen sensor does not cause an engine to blow up, she continued to say it was our fault because something was dropped in the engine that turned the oil black and blew the engineI was trying to help her and adviced that shehas the car towed in to see what really happened, she also wanted me to pay the tow, but in my response I told her I could not do that until I saw what happened but I repeated and said an oxygen sensor would not cause an engine to blow upShe continued to say something was dropped in the engine and it blew up and I have to take responsibility and pay for the engine

Im responding to the complaint *** *** left of our shopThe day he came in was because he had a check engine light on due to a bad catalitic converter and he was not able to pass state inspectionWe came to an agreement on a price to replace the catalitic converter which was a more
expensive then the one he quoted at ***, it was a direct fit for the car rather than a universal cheaper version which he got quoted for at ***After the job was done he left satified but then called to let us know the check engine light came back on, when I then myself plugged in the obdscanner to pull up oxygen sensor codes, he no longer had catalitic converter codeI came to find out he was using regular gas which harms the catalitic converter and oxygen sensors, at that time he was unsure and doubtful that we had replaced the catalitic converter the first time, and at that moment I offered to raise the car again on the lift to show him the new catalitic converter we replaced from the beginningHe said no its ok I trust youI then told him to refill his gas tank with premium gas to try and clean out the regular gas that damages the catalitic converter and oxygen sensor and then come back to reset the check engine light and clear the codes, once he came back with tank full of gas I proceed to clear the check engine light codes and for him to do a drive cycle to prepare for emission test once he did his drive cycle of about 70-miles he came back with no codes, no check engine light and ready for emission test, he went to his inspection station and passed his inspectionIn conclusion we did replace his catalitic converter and knowing he was doubtful from the beginning I offered to show him the new piece which was installed and ontop of that he seen the tech working on the car and the job he did.If any question you can reach me at my shop number***
