Johns' Asphalt, Inc

Review: Selected John's Asphalt as a local company to remove existing driveway and install gravel to proper elevation prior to installing 3 inches of compressed asphalt. Also install cobblestone in concrete on both sides of driveway. Total cost $7,600

Within less than 30 day of completing the driveway installation I began to notice 3 areas which the driveway was showing sign of cracks, raised bubble like formations and open splits.

I contacted John Jr. Owner of the company and spoke to him about the issues and he stated "he would take care of it next week when they would be out doing a paving job in the area". Several weeks passed and I again followed up with him several times leaving voice mails on his cell phone, office, and text message and never received a return phone call.

After additional attempts to contact John Jr I called again to the office and spoke with the John Sr. (owner and founder of company which he sold to his son) who was on the job site at the time of installation. I explained the issue to him and my concerns that the driveway is showing faults. I explained I had an independent contractor look at the driveway and their assessment was either the base contained too many rocks or the 3 inches of asphalt needed in the driveway was not provided. john Sr.stated they were very busy and he would look at the driveway and take care of it.

After repeated follow up calls to this company for a four month period I have not heard from them or have they resolved the issue. When I attempt to call them I get voicemail, I leave a message and my calls are never returned.Desired Settlement: Repair or total replacement of base and asphalt.
