Review: I was admitted outpatient to [redacted] Hospital over night, after going to the ER.Dr. K[redacted] came to my room to evaluate me. I have a $500 deductible which was 100% met with my Er visit and overnight admission. I then received a bill from Johns Hopkins Community Physicians for $60. I spoke to my insurance and they said that it was billed as an office visit, and therefore it had a $60 co-pay. I was in a hospital room and didn't have any choice in the doctors coming to my office. After failed attempts of trying to call their billing office (there times are not user friendly for my work schedule) I sent them an email on 6/11/2013 regarding the charge and first received a response on 6/13/13 that they will review my account. That is the last I heard. I tried multiple times to get an update and never received a response. I then received another invoice in December and contacted them December 17, 2013. I received a response on 8/18/2014 that they billed correctly and I owe the money. If I disagree, to contact my insurance. I called my insurance and they say it was billed as an office visit and there is nothing they can do. Further, my right to appeal is 180 days from the date of the Explanation of Benefits. It has taken 14 months to receive a response to my initial inquiry, negating my ability to even appeal with my insurance, even if I wanted to.Desired Settlement: Contact [redacted] to discuss how to change the invoice so it does not reflect an office visit (as they are stating is the reason they aren't paying the $60).
