Review: I was notified by my drug pharmacy that my prescription for [redacted] needed to be refilled. I called [redacted]'s office for a new prescription and was told that I would have to be seen by her in order to get the refill. When I arrived for the appointment on January 18, 2013, she informed me that her office had made a mistake when they said I needed to see her to get the prescription refilled, and she told me that she had already refilled the prescription. As I was leaving, I mentioned that my dermatologist no long took my insurance and asked if she would be able to take care of skin problems. I mentioned the medication my dermatologist had been prescribing. She agreed and I left.

I was very confused and upset that she sent me a bill for $152 for that visit. I don’t know what medical service she provided. She did not examine me or write any prescriptions. If it hadn't been for the mistake her office made, the visit would have never happened. Also I want to emphasize that no one called to notify me that my prescription had been refilled. If I had known that it had been refilled, I would have cancelled the unnecessary appointment. I had to use half a day of sick leave to appear for an unnecessary appointment; and I wasted a considerable amount of my time.

I wrote a letter to [redacted] explaining that I didn't think I should have to pay for the bill under these circumstances. On March 4, 2013, a friend of mine handed the letter to [redacted] for me. After quickly skimming through the letter, [redacted] told my friend that it was a billing issue, so I needed to contact her Billing Office. I faxed a copy of the letter to her Billing Office with a cover sheet explaining the situation. The billing office never responded.Desired Settlement: I want the money paid for the office visit refunded. It was taken out of my health fund for this year's medical expenses.
