John's Mobile Repair Service, Inc. Reviews (2)

Review: I am a missionary for [redacted] and my home is a motorhome. Before starting my return trip to [redacted], TX for the winter, I called John's Mobile Repair Service, Inc. to set up an early appt. to deal with two issues: 1.) one of the automatic stabilizers had not completely returned to the home position; 2.) something was wrong with the connector between the motorhome and my car being pulled behind it which caused the brake lights and signal lights of my car not to work in sync with the MH. I filled out a form beforehand where I checked the box stating I wanted an es[redacted]ate of my repair work before the work was done. I waited and waited, finally walking back to the garage where I was surprised to find the repairman had lifted up the cab carpeting and was working on the MH battery. I told him there was no problem with the battery since it was only 9 months old. After finally concentrating on the connector wires he found the problem and he quickly repaired it. Then, he proceeded to tell me the connection between the MH and my car had never been set up correctly (even though it had worked perfectly for nine months and it was set up at the dealership). After several discussions with his boss, he finally set it up as it was initially. By this [redacted]e it was 12:30 and they had had my vehicle for over 4 hours. The repairman had told me the first issue was fixed immediately as he had pushed the stabilizer up manually. I was charged $272.68 for the repairs, which was mainly for labor. I never received an es[redacted]ate of the costs. Having made reservations for overnight stays until I reached Louisiana, and I was over four hours late for starting my trip, I had no choice but to pay the bill and get on the road. The next day when I checked my brake and signal lights before starting off, they did not work. I had to go the remaining three days without the lights and could have been pulled over and ticketed for lack of them. In Louisiana, I had the connection repaired by a friend who has mechanic skills and it has continued to work so far. He stated the connection was loose and needed to be tightened. I have contacted John's M.R.S. twice. Once to tell them I was protesting the charge on my credit card, and the second [redacted]e to request a revised invoice for the charge for repairing the stabilizer. My credit card company stated they would remove the charge if I could provide them with the information regarding the second repair on business letterhead, which I cannot. Please help me with this problem. I am a single, disabled woman and I feel that I was taken advantage of by this company. Their answer to my protest is that the lights worked when I left the garage therefore they did their job.Desired Settlement: To be fair, I still want to pay for the repaired stabilizer and the [redacted]e it took to repair it, but nothing else.

To Whom It May Concern:

On October 8, 2013, we were called to see if we could get a motorhome with tail light issues in for repairs. When **. [redacted] arrived, we got her motorhome into the shop as soon as we had a bay open, which was approximately 1 hour of wait time. At that point in time, **. [redacted] informed us that she also had an issue with the leveling jacks.

Upon inspection of the vehicle, we that the front leveling jack cylinder was bent and the leg was binding. We had to manually raise the leg into position and **. [redacted] stated that would be OK. We then checked the light issue on the towed vehicle by starting at the source (battery) and working thru the connector to the towed vehicle. At this point, **. [redacted] had walked from the lobby to the rear bay in our shop and asked what we found and why we were checking her battery.

We explained that the connections were loose and we had to tighten then to ensure a good power source. We also found the connections between her motorhome and the car were loose and that we had tightened them as well. At this time the lights on the tow vehicle worked as they did when originally installed. **. [redacted] stood at her vehicle as we tested the lights and we showed her how it was wired and connected. The system was never wired for the back lights to the rear of the towed vehicle. She said that she was OK with the repairs and she would be OK to make her trip.

About a week later, she called and said she had problems with her lights and they were not working again. I asked her if she had checked the plugs and she said that was not her forte. She stated she had a friend check the lights and he repaired the issue and the lights now worked again.

**. [redacted] asked us to adjust our bill and remove the light repair. I explained to her that I would not separate the bill and she had stood with us and agreed to the repairs that were completed. At the time of the payment, **. [redacted] did not question the invoice and signed the credit card slip without any issues.

Regarding the answer to my complaint about the service I received from John's Mobile Repair Service, Inc., once again, they are denying any fault. My response is the following:

Review: My vehicle broke down on the PA turnpike. I called for towing assistance to [redacted], who were open until 9pm, and expecting me. Upon their arrival they convinced me to have it towed to their location to have it repaired instead, so that's what we did. After paying 198.00 for a 20 mile tow they said they could not do any repairs to the vehicle until next week due to being over booked. They knew I live several hundred miles away, and am stuck quite literally in the middle of nowhere, and now in order to get it towed to [redacted] just 15 miles away from this location (which is what I asked for in the first place) they intend to charge an additional 200USD. I find this behavior highly unethical. They promised me quick repair upon the vehicles arrival to their shop, then tell me that the vehicle is unsafe to drive, and they can not repair it until NEXT WEEK!!! I was mislead, and lied to directly to my face in order for them to retain a second towing charge. I'm sitting in my car in the parking lot not knowing what to do, there are no local businesses such as hotels, or restraunts within walking distance. I was mislead, and lied to! This should be completely unacceptable to the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I think it is only fair to tow my vehicle to where it can actually be repaired! Where I had an appointment in the first place! As they knew I was not a local, and on the road to see a dying family member. My trip has been delayed by an entire day, Since this is not going to happen by the time Revdex.com officials read this, I strongly feel that I should be refunded the cost of the tow. This reflects very poorly on this establishment, and the Revdex.com. In addition if this issue is not resolved in a timely manner I will refer to social media to express my dissatisfaction with this establishment, and the Revdex.com.

DATE: 6/4/2014IN RESPONSE TO YOUR LETTER OR COMPLAINT FROM [redacted]. [redacted]. GN 5/30/20 WE WERE DISPATCHED BY THE PA TURNPIKE ROAD SERVICE CENTER TO RESPOND TO THE [redacted] SERVICE PLAZA WHICH IS WEST BOUND AT THE [redacted] MILE MARKER.WE ARRIVED ON LOCATION @7:55 PM. OUR DRIVER FOUND THERE WAS OIL RUNNING OUT OF ONE OF THE REAR WHEELS AND HAD SPLASHED UP ONTO THE REAR OF THE CAR AS WELL WHILE DRIVING, HE LOADED THE CAR AND PROCEEDED TO OUR SHOP WITH THE CUSTOMER AND THE CAR. DURING THE TRIP TO OUR SHOP WHICH WAS 36 MILES, NOT 20 AS [redacted] HAD STATED. THIS AS WELL IS NOTED ON THE RECEIPT FOR THE TOW. THE CUSTOMER STATED HE HAD CALLED [redacted] IN [redacted]. OUR DRIVER DISCUSSED THE TIME LINE DUE TO [redacted] CLOSED AT 9 PM. AND HAD CONCERN THAT WE MAY NOT MAKE THAT CONNECTION BY CLOSING. BEING [redacted] WAS AN ADDITIONAL 20 MILES AWAY, WE THEN BROUGHT THE CAR TO OUR SHOP AND HAD TOLD [redacted] WE COULD LOOK AT THE CAR. ONCE AT OUR SHOP AND OFF LOADED THE PAPERWORK WAS HANDLED AND OUR SECOND SHIFT FORMAN IMMEDIATELY TOOK A LOOK AT THE CAR TO DETERMINE WHAT THE FAILURE MAYBE.HE FOUND THE REAR AXLE SEAL BLOWN AND OIL SLUNG INTO THE FENDER WELL AND UNDER THE REAR SECTION OF THE CAR, HE THEN INFORMED THE CUSTOMER OF HIS FINDINGS AND TOLE HIM IT WAS NOT A QUICK FIX.ON THIS MODEL REAR WHICH THE CAR WAS AN OHLD POLICE CRUISER WITH A POSITIVE TRACTION REAR END, DISASSEMBLY OF THE REAR IS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS REPAIR. WE WERE UNABLE TO RETRIEVE THE NEEDED PARTS AT THIS TIME OF THE DAY NOR DID WE HAVE THE TIME IN OUR SCHEDULE THIS LATE ON A FRIDAY NIGHT TO PERFORM THE REPAIRS.AT THIS TIME [redacted] WAS OFFERED OUR SERVICES TO REPAIR THE CAR ON MONDAY. AND WE ALSO OFFER HIM A RIDE TO A LOCAL MOTEL IF HE WANTED OR HE COULD HAVE WALKED DOWN THE STREET 4 HUNDRED YARDS TO THE [redacted]. THERE ARE ALSO THREE OTHER MOTELS WITHIN , MILE OF OUR SHOP, ALONG WITH SEVERAL PLACES TO EAT.HE REFUSED ALL OF THE ABOVE AND DECIDED TO DRIVE THE CAR AWAY ASIS. THE CUSTOMER WAS NOT CHARGED FOR OUR EVALUATION OF THE PROBLEM WITH HIS CAR. OUR SERVICES WERE OFFERED AS ISAID EARLIER AND WE GAVE HIM SEVERAL OPTIONS. I CAN GUARANTY HAD HE WENT TO [redacted] HE WOULD HAVE HAD THE SAME RESULTS. THEY CLOSED AT 9 PM, WE ARE OPEN TILL 12:30 , IN THE EVENT WE HAD THE SEAL AND BEARING NEEDED IN STOCK AND THE REAR HAD BEEN A CONVENTIONAL OR OPEN REAR WE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PERFORM THE REPAIR IN APPROX. ONE HOUR AND HAD HIM BACK ON THE ROAD. BUT UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES THE REPAIR WOULD TAKE APPROX, THREE HOURS, AND THERE WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TIME TO DO THE REPAIR THAT EVENING AND THE PARTS NEEDED WERE NOT AVAILABLE AT 9 PM ON A FRIDAY NIGHT.I DO NOT FEEL IN ANY WAY THAT THE CUSTOMER WAS LIED TO, MISLEAD OR TREATED UNFAIRLY BY MY STAFF,MY STAFF EXHAUSTED EVERY OPTION TO ACCOMMODATE [redacted] AND HIS NEEDS THAT EVENING. UNFORTUNATELY WE WERE UNSUCCESSFUL IN DOING SO DO TO ALL THE FACTS MENTIONED ABOVE.WITH THAT SAID I DO NOT FEEL THAT WE SHOULD REFUND HIS COST FOR THE 36 MILE TOW SINCE WE DID PERFORM THE SERVICE AND ATTEMPT TO ACCOMMODATE HIS NEEDS,SINCERELY YOURS

I am rejecting this response because:

Regards,

First my name is [redacted], the only reason the name [redacted] is used is because I had forgotten my debit card at home, and they would not accept a split payment with my two credit cards, and I called a friend [redacted] to pay in full with a single credit card. When reading his Revdex.com response I just about fell to the floor after reading lie, after lie. I then called, spoke to the owner personally who then proceeded to scold me as if I were a ten year old child, call me "gay" and a "homosexual whatever it is"! Then threaten to sue me with slander if I dare to tell the TRUTH as to the events that happened on social media sites. As a member of the law enforcement community I am SWORN to the truth, and the content of my character, and personal reputation are beyond reproach. This man is a crook, a liar, and an obvious bigot. At no time did anyone look at my vehicle. My keys were in my pocket the whole time, and at no time was the vehicle pulled into a bay, put on a lift, or even so much as glanced at. When the vehicle arrived I immediately paid for the tow, then was immediately asked when I would like to make an appointment for next week. Disappointed after the tow driver promised it would get looked at, and fixed that evening convincing me not to take it to [redacted]. I inquired about getting it towed to [redacted], and was told it would be about an additional 200$. I asked about any near by hotels, and was told there was one about half mile down the road, at NO time was I offered a ride there! I then drove the car slowly to [redacted] and received prompt, courteous service first thing the next morning. I can not believe this man treated me in such a mannor on the telephone. Being called "gay" and a "homosexual what ever it is" simply because I had a male friend pay for the tow with his credit card, and my business attire was male like in nature. Future potential customers PLEASE head my warning, and DO NOT trust your vehicle in this mans hands, as you will surly regret it! I was stuck 400+ miles away from home, and all he did was tow me from the middle of nowhere-to the middle of nowhere, did not even look at the vehicle, given empty promises, demeaned, and degrated. I will now not let this issue go, it is not about the losey 198$, but all about honesty, integrity, and principle, all of which this business lacks in serious abundance!!

6/19/2014IN RESPONSE TO YOUR LETTER OR COMPLAINT FROM [redacted] . ON /30/2014, AFTER REVIEWING THE SECOND RESPONSE FROM HIM, I FIND SEVERAL DISCREPANCYS IN HIS STATEMENTS. THE KEYS FROM THE CAR HAD TO BE USED TO REMOVE THE CAR FROM PARK TO LOAD AND UNLOAD IT FROM THE ROLLBACK. THEREFORE THE KEYS COULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN HIS POSSESSION THE ENTIRE TIME. AND THESE REMARKS COME AFTER THIS PERSON CURSED MY STAFF AND MYSELF OVER AND OVER ON THE PHONE. ITS SAD WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE LIKE THIS AND THAT THEY WILL NEVER TELL THE TRUTH OF HOW THE SITUATION HAPPENED, I CAN ASSURE YOU HE WAS OFFERED THE LOCAL SERVICES, THE CAR WAS INDEED LOOKED ATAS IT WAS BEING REMOVED FROM THE ROLLBACK BY MY SECOND SHIFT FOREMAN. A.THAT TIME WITH OUR MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE KNEW WHAT IT NEEDED AND THATAS I STATED IN THE LAST LETTER WAS NOT A QUICK FIX. THIS IS WHEN AND WHY WE OFFERED THE TRIP TO THE MOTEL ETC. AND ASKED IF HE WOULD LIKE US TO SCHEDULE THE CAR REPAIRS FOR THE NEXT MONDAY.ONE CAN ONLY HOPE THAT HE DOES NOT CONTINUE THE PUBLIC BASHING ON HIS SOCIAL MEDIA SITES AND ACCEPTS THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS. I WOULD REALLY HATE TO HAVE TO INVOLVE THE AUTHORITIES AND CAUSE HIM FURTHER EXPENSE.SINCERELY YOURS

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Well this response was skillfully written by some other rational mind, obviously not the owner himself, but probably a very poor attorney. I like how you continue to disrespect me to this day referring to me as a "he" even though you have never met me, and know for a fact that I am a female. I suppose your cursing, name calling rant wasn't enough, so you continue to show complete disrespect in any discrete way you can. How cute. Also, your last comment is taken by me as a direct threat! Not a very good idea on your part sir, not at all! On the phone I did raise my voice slightly, I did however at NO time curse anyone, threaten anyone, or use any exploitive of any kind, and my voice raising was in direct response to your screaming, name calling, bumbling, crazy rant! I do have it on tape! I have told this story on social media, the whole truthful story so please feel free to "involve the authorities" as you put it, because telling the truth is no crime, criminal, or civil. If you don't want angry customers warning other potential customers of their negative experience with your business I would highly suggest that you adopt fair, positive business practices that don't border on unethical business tactics, maybe even live up to your promises, or go the extra inch every once and a while. About the keys, as soon as the vehicle was dropped by the flatbed dragging the underbelly of the vehicle along the ground I removed the keys (the car will sometimes lock it self, needs a special chip key, that I only have one of) they were in my pocket the entire time I was there! This is no debate, and I do not enjoy being called a liar! The mention of getting the car in Monday was brought up, however your desk agent didnt want to schedule me until wendsday! The only way you guys knew what was wrong with the vehicle is because upon breaking down I called my home mechanic, we played Q&A on the phone and he then told me what was the issue, the information then passed on to your business. At no time did one if your mechanics so much ss glance at the vehicle! Your business had many surveillance cameras, I saw them. So why don't you provide the Revdex.com with video evidence of me passing on my keys to the desk worker, and footage of my vehicle being pulled into a bay to be examined. NO? Why not? Probably because those two things never happened! I'm putting several attorney friends on stand by status, if a court appearance is nesasary I will be appearing in my dress blues, with half a dozen attorney friends working pro bono. You have made a direct threat of false charges under color of law against an officer of the courts, perhaps you should consult with your attorney before you find yourself in a legal bind you would rather not be in.
