Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Johnson Brothers Ford replaced the turbos on my ’08 Ford F250 6.4L truck and was so unprofessional, incompetent, and lazy, they had to do it twice, blew oil all over the underside and out the back end of the truck and never bothered cleaned it up and in addition destroyed two batteries and the alternator and never reattached a joint at the bottom of the radiator or the shielding on the wiring harness for the cab off plug. .  They admitted to destroying one battery but have refused to do anything about the second battery or the alternator.  The alternator was still under warranty until 8-2-2016. My visit to the dealership on 9-19-2016 was a joke with the unprofessional, incompetent and lazy mechanic spent 40 minutes telling me how bad my engine is and I should trade it in.  It was obvious he had been coached to do this.  They plugged the truck into a computer which I had done at Auto Zone and got the same results.  They wanted to charge me $741.00 to install a rebuilt alternator.  The alternator on the truck was only two years old and under warranty until 8-2-2016.  They intended to do nothing to replace the alternator they destroyed. I also have a copy of the receipt for the alternator as proof of its warranty status.I never saw the service manager or heard from the dealer since then.  Johnson Brothers Ford destroyed the two batteries and alternator on my truck and takes no responsibility.  I have a video that shows the reason that the two batteries an alternator were destroyed due to their action.  ANYONE who owns a F250 or a competent mechanic knows what happens when one battery is destroyed.  Texas Alternator and Starter Austin, TX was explicit that what Johnson Brothers Ford did would have destroyed boyh batteries and the alternator. They victimize their customers.  They are a predatory business and potential customers should know what they do.  They will be reported to the Texas Attorney General’s in a formal complaint and to the Federal Consumer Protection Agency if they continue to refuse to reimburse me for my second battery (they have admitted to destroying one battery) t the cost of $205.32 and $244.52 for rebuilt alternator for a total of $449.84.  I am not asking for the $500.00 in labor for installing the alternator but only for the cost of parts.HISTORY:6-14-2016   to replace turbos cost estimate $6165.80Told [redacted]he service guy, this was the only vehicle we had so could we get a loaner car. We were told by the service guy that he had to check with manager to see if it was OK to loan me a car while truck was in the shop. “Normally we do not do that.” This took almost 1.5 hours.  We were told “good news” they could loan us a car like they were doing us a BIG favor.6-17-2016 Got call from service guy Scott that they would not have the truck done as promised and needed to keep it a little longer.6-24-2016 Cost was $6,068.80.  Got call that truck was ready.  Went to get our truck.  We were told that they saved us about $100 off the original estimate thereby doing us another favor.Scott, service guy, told me that they washed our truck like they were doing us another BIG favor.  Truth is they ran through the car wash trying to “COVER UP” the fact that oil was all over the back and underside of the truck.  Such an unprofessional job they did not bother to wash the oil off the back of the truck AND there was so much oil on the underside of the truck it covered the transmission all the way back to the rear deferential. We later found out that the mechanic screwed up the install of the turbo the first time and had to do it all over again and this is why it took so long to repair our truck. We were told that the mechanic recommended that we should purchase new FORD battery cables at the cost of $215.22.  I was not sure why because they were fine.  I had checked the cables and the battery levels two weeks prior.  I was given no explanation.  (I found out later) I asked to talk to the mechanic about my truck because I had some questions.  I was told at the cashier’s counter that he was “too busy” at this time.  6-24-2016 We were told that engine had regenerated so many times that the oil level had risen and that the oil HAD to be changed.  We agreed so another cost of $107.53.  7-3-2016 Driver side battery went dead. It was only two years old.  Could not understand why until I investigated and found that the mechanic had PRYED one of the cables off because he was too lazy and incompetent to properly, professionally and correctly remove the cable.  He then just “stuck it back on and pounded it down.  “HE BROKE THE BATTERY POST” and the cable was so loose it could simply be lifted off the post.    7-6-2016 Cost $205.32:  I had to replace the driver side battery7-7-2016 Computer generated 2 codes 1) mass air sensor, 2) glow plug module7-12-2016 Returned the truck to dealer and took the driver side battery to show the tow year old battery with the broken post that was destroyed by the mechanic when it was in for replacement of turbos.  Johnson Bros. checked the codes and said the mass air sensor was just a clip that was missing (obviously done when they worked on it.)   The also repaired a mounting bracket at the bottom of the radiator which they had broken when in was in for replacement of the turbos.  The glow plug module needed to be replaced.  They said I could choose not to replace I and they would refund me the cost of a battery (which they destroyed) or I could have the glow plug module replaced which I would have to pay for but they would not charge me for the labor which would amount to the cost of the battery.  I chose to replace the glow plug module.  Cost was $209.17.7-16-2016 Passenger battery went dead.  It went bad because they had destroyed the other battery.  Cost $175.20.8-12-2016 The alternator / battery light indicator came on the dash.9-12-2016 I submitted a complaint to the Revdex.com of Central, Coastal, Southwest Texas and the Permian Basin (Austin, TX) [redacted] Austin, TX In which I outlined much of what I have outlined here.  It was assigned complaint #[redacted]9-16-2016 I received a phone call from the Johnson Bros.  Service Mgr. and the mechanic to talk about the weather and explain to me that there was NOTHING they would have done that would have cause ANY of my problems.  I explained that the alternator / battery light had come and I wanted it diagnosed and corrected.  I agreed to bring it in the following Monday 9-19-2016 to have them check it out.9-19-2016 8:00 AM I brought my truck to the dealer.  I very briefly saw the Service Mgr. and he immediately passed me off to the mechanic who spent 40 minutes in the shop explaining how my 6.4L  was a terrible engine and how many things could go wrong and how he had made a lot of his mortgage payments off the problems with the engine in my truck.  He said that he would advise going back to an older engine (the 6.0) which the just happen to have on their lot at the time.   Or, I could trade my truck in on a new one but the dealership would have to wholesale my truck because they could not sell it.  It was VERY obvious he had been coached on what to with me or he had done it so many times before that he knew exactly what to do.  Either way it was not to help me but to make him and the dealership more money. After our wasted time in the shop, they plugged my truck into their computer to diagnose the problem with the alternator.  They told me that it had a short in it somewhere which is I had already had done at an alternator shop. They offered to fix my truck by replacing my alternator with rebuilt ne that had a two year warranty for $741.00.   THE ALTERNATOR ON THE TRUCK HAD BEEN REPLACED ON 8-2-2014 so the warranty had JUST expired.  IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY WHEN THEY DESTROYED BOTH BATTERIES AND THE ALTERNAOR because of their unprofessional and lazy behavior.I NEVER saw or heard from the service manager to find out if I was satisfied with the results of my visit. It was never the objective to meet my needs but to fleece me of more money for something they destroyed.10-4-2016 Cost  $244.52:   I had to purchase a new alternator

price, I went over and emailed Ms [redacted] market pricing data for similar vehicles showing that the price she paid was a very good value compared to what similar vehicles were being sold for in the market. Concerning the repair, our technicians determined the vehicle battery had weak cells. The battery was replaced at no cost to the customer.Ms. [redacted] thanked me for calling her and confirmed she would pick her vehicle up from service.
