We at Milstead Automotive strive to
have the best customer service in our industry. Occasionally we will not be
able to please a customer due to demands or...

claims that are unreasonable.  
As [redacted] stated, he was given
an approximate time for the wrecker to arrive and tow his vehicle. There are
many factors why only estimated time of arrival is given when scheduling a tow.
We have to take into consideration any unforeseen traffic conditions, GPS misdirection
and human error. [redacted] vehicle did arrive at Milstead Automotive Friday
at approximately 8:36PM. The vehicle was left in the holding line throughout
the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), both days had an average outside temperature
of 80 degrees with partial sun to overcast sky. No different than every other
citizen in the Spring area we were faced with damaging storms Sunday evening
and most of the day Monday causing total loss of power to Milstead Automotive**
facility forcing the use of generated power and minimal staffing due to the
majority of personnel unable to navigate the flood waters to get to work. [redacted] vehicle was assigned to a technician and moved into the shop Monday
morning. Tuesday, the vehicle was diagnosed by a technician and after following
the proper diagnostic protocol based on the information given to the service
writer by [redacted]. It was determined that the vehicle was out of fuel.
The vehicle was picked up by [redacted] Tuesday afternoon. He stated the charge for towing the vehicle was not
what was quoted. The service manager addressed [redacted] claim and discounted
to tow charges by $40 in consideration of his long time business with Milstead
Auto. [redacted] also made mention of a rattling noise which ultimately was
caused by an exhaust pipe in which the service manager took responsibility and
repaired the exhaust pipe at no charge. [redacted] then complained about his sun
glasses were placed on his dashboard and other items rearranged in his vehicle.
He admitted there was nothing missing but things were out of place and his
sunglasses had small cracks in the lower lenses from exposure to sunlight.
As was discussed with [redacted]
Tuesday afternoon, on his word the tow charge was discounted, diagnostic procedures
were performed based on his description of the malfunction of his vehicle and
Milstead Auto took responsibility when informed of damage to the tail pipe that
could have potentially happened on premises. Milstead Automotive cannot substantiate
paying another $150.00 to [redacted] for his claim his sunglasses will crack or
craze when exposed to sunlight. The temperature was no more than 80 degrees
with partial cloudy to overcast skies with rain starting Sunday afternoon and the
vehicle moved into the shop Monday morning.   
 Milstead Automotive has served our community
for over 40 years and prides itself on customer service. We will always and
also in the case [redacted] complaints, address any legitimate complaint that
could have the potential of being the responsibility of Milstead Automotive.

Although we at Milstead Automotive do sympathize and have been a victim of windshield damage due to rocks or other debris left on or by the side of the road. We cannot be held responsible for our truck tires picking up debris that a small enough to fit...

between the treads of tires while traveling on the roadways.  The responsibility of keeping the roadways and right of ways clean belongs to the state, county or city. Please contact the proper athority that would be responsible for maintaining the roadways in the area that the windshield damage occurred and always maintain a safe following distance behind any commercial vehicle.

[redacted] complaint is unfounded. The dispatcher explained to Mr. [redacted] the hourly charge with fees including the fact that there would be a minimum charge and that his request would required two trucks to complete each with and hourly rate. He asked several questions including what would be the minimum charge. The dispatcher calculated the minimum charge to be around $660.00 for both trucks and explained multiple times that was only the minimum charge and the charges would be based on the time each vehicle was dispatched to the time it returned to base. I personally contacted Mr. [redacted] to let him listen to the recorded call. He agreed that during that call the conditions of the agreement including price structure and the minimum charge were fully explained but he stated that there was a second call. I asked if he could give me a time frame of the call so I could search our archives.
