As Stated by the Business.   We have reached out to this patient, this happened a long time ago, but we are resolving it with them and making sure that they feel comfortable and at ease.  N.J. Johnson Family Dental

We are really sorry to hear that the details of the service the patient received weren't made clear.  That should have happened.  Our standard of care is that following Gum Infection Therapy (Scaling and Root Planing) a patient is put onto a  periodontal maintenance schedule of three...

to four months.  This is typically the standard of care with most dental professionals.  Our patient did receive the Gum Infection Therapy (6.3.2013) and had two periodontal maintenance cleanings (10.1.2013 & 5.27.2014).  The balance not collected from the last periodontal maintenance in May 2014 was billed to the patient monthly, after amble attempts to collect this account was sent to Transworld Systems.  Based upon the notes from the hygienist and the periodontal probing depths, we believe the correct code and service was rendered.  However, we have subsequently worked to rectify the issue and the lack of clarity of the services rendered to the patient by removing this account from Transworld Systems and writing on the balance on the account.  Please accept our apologies for failing to explain why each subsequent visit after Gum Infection Therapy would not be considered a regular cleaning.   Regular cleanings only occur with patients that do not have periodontal disease.  I hope that this adjustment of the full fee is agreeable.  Don't hesitate to reach out if we can assist in any way.

Review: I started going to this dentist in 2011. I have had so many mishaps and not an apology what so ever. I had a crown done and the tooth was "accidently" Made too small to make a correct crown to ever fix. I have been in the office 17 times for this crown, Still is not correct and no one wants to help me, but only charge me. The office manager Mary, has been left 15 phone messages from me to call me regarding the refund of tooth 17. Still today I have not heard or received a message or call., From nonone. I am disgusted and don't know what else to do. They said they reimbursed me for the crown, but shorted me 800.00 dollars. I found an invoice with the correct amount and not a call from Mary or the person in charge. I am treated with disrespect and I am continuously apologizing. I don't know why I deserve such inappropriate behavior or rudeness. Now they want to pull all my wisdom teeth and charge me. Even for the tooth that they messed up. I even had a dentist there drill on the wrong tooth. Please help. I don't know what else to do and I know that I am not the only one that has gone through this pain and agony to get things taken care of.Desired Settlement: I want to be contacted as I told I would be and I want a professional to do so. Not through my mother whom is 70 years old. We both were promised a meeting 2 months ago and nothing done as well. I have missed a couple of appointments, but am so tired of sitting in that chair and no one doing the right thing. Thanks so much and hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.

At Santa Barbara locatio Dr Havilty extracted a wisdom tooth in late 2015. Experienced mind-numbing pain after procedure. Could not get anyone in their office to return my calls. Review: I quit going to this dentist because of their deceptive billing (bilking) practices. I have not been in their office since 2011 and I have a statement indicating a zero balance. On December 28, 2014 I received a bill for $96.00 with no explanation as to what it's for, just a bill. I believe this is a lucrative profit center for this dentist. I wonder how many people just pay something like this rather than go through the hassle of disputing. I spent months in 2010/2011 trying to get an explanation for a bill they said I owed. They kept insisting they sent a detailed breakdown of the bill which they never did. Finally after months they sent an archaic list of charges and credits and to the best I could determine (Stephen Hawking would be challenged to decipher their mess) I owed them most of the balance they were demanding. I paid them and have a statement from them showing a zero balance in 2011. I have NO intention of paying them another cent I called and the call was disconnected (they hung up).Desired Settlement: Remove the bogus amount due and provide me another statement showing a zero balance. After that I would like them to NEVER contact me again in any way. I would like to see some kind of sanction against this office for their deceptive and bogus billing practices.

Review: On 7/9/13 I received a filling in my bridge which had fallen out. This was the second time that the filling, which was done by Dr. Johnson, had fallen out. One week later (7/16) the filling fell out. On 7/18 I returned to Johnson Family Dental to have them look at it and ask for a refund. They told me that the office manager, Chelsea was away until Mon. 7/22 and would give me a call back upon her return concerning my refund. Today is 7/26 (8 days after my office visit) and she has not returned my call and is always unavailable when I try to contact the office. I have since had the filling repaired by another dentist. I would like a refund from Dr. Johnson for poor quality work which I had to pay another dentist to do properly.Desired Settlement: I would like my $350 refunded. The filling should have lasted much longer than one week.

Review: Johnson family dental is a preferred provider of my dental carrier. They will not honor that contract and refuse to apply the contract rates for services provided. My insurance carrier has on repeated occasions contacted them by both phone and mail informing them that they are in violation of the preferred provider contract by balance billing. I have contacted the insurance board of California and they concur that the practitioner is wrong that they must abide by the contract. I have been in contact with the ADA and they agree that the provider is incorrect in there application of COB. I believe they are knowingly attempting to over bill me. They claim my wife has a Medicare policy which is not true and they know its not true because they have never billed Medicare. I also believe the have incorrectly billed many other patients. In addition to the legal action by my insurance carrier I have contacted a civil attorney to investigate a possible class action law suit.Desired Settlement: The contract Johnson Family Dental signed with my insurance carrier must be honored. All other patients who are similarly situated should be made whole

Review: I,an elderly male in his eighties, responded to a flyer that stated this business would be offering a free dental clinic on such day ,time, and location. I arrived, assuming I had the correct location. The receptionist greeted me and invited me to fill out personal information form. Long story short ,I felt I was lured to receive very expensive services I never intended to receive.Mind you I do have dementia and should not have been alone that day ,the day of this visit, let alone signed for any financial credit application without my daughters authorization .I was disoriented and was set up to sign something I had no idea I was signing.3000$ worth of dental charges. Plus late fees now totalling 4000$I tried to reason with them about these charges ,they wouldn't hear anything about it.Desired Settlement: I would be happy to pay the teeth cleaning that was done, they pulled out some of my better teeth, where they were going to order dentures for.I never wanted dentures,I never wanted any teeth pulled let alone the most important ones that allow me to chew my food well, due to those missing teeth I have had two episodes whereI was not able to chew food I had eaten and one of those times I had to be hospitalized.I need this debt cancelled,it has been a nightmare that started February of this year.
