Johnson Hendrickson & Lalliss, PLLC Reviews (4)

After working with two contractors who have had to clean up the work provided by MrK***, it is clear that he had no clear understanding of the scope of the original project, particularly after placing the conduit wrong after reviewing schematics provided by the spa manufacturer While I do not accept his response, I am happy to move on and chalk this one up to experience, using the next opportunity to do a better check of references Thank you

I was contracted by [redacted] and [redacted] to construct an 8'X8' concrete pad for their new hot tub The contract included installing a new 220v line from the garage electrical panel to the site of the hot tub pad.We discussed their needs and agreed on how and where the pad would be located I collected a deposit check of $to get started (which is half of the total contract, $5200) the second half was due once the project was complete Before I started or collected a check I made it very clear that I was on other projects and I would get their project done but it would be a process and we would not be there every day working on their project They agreed and said that would not be a problem. We hand excavated the area to a depth of 8" We removed and disposed of nearly two tons of dirt We then installed forms for the concrete At this point, my electrician came and roughed in the conduit for the electrical for the hot tub It was placed in the wrong position Mr [redacted] told me it was in the wrong position and I told him we would move it After moving it, it was again placed in the wrong position It was at this point that Mr [redacted] wrote me an email that I found to be very offensive and insulting (see below) I emailed him back that we should talk He called me and was insulting and verbally abusive I told him that I agreed that the conduit was not in the right spot but we had not poured concrete yet and it would be in the right place before we did He complained that I was not doing my job and that I was not communicating with my sub contractors He questioned if my electrician was qualified to work on this project I assured him that our electrician is licensed and had pulled a permit on the project Again he questioned if I being truthful At this point he gave me an ultimatum, "are you going to finish this job or do I need someone else to finish the job?" I told him to find someone else.Throughout the project, he questioned me and micromanaged the process After years in the industry, as a licensed General Contractor, I refuse to be micromanaged and/or spoken to, in a disrespectful way, by a client We will not do work for people like that Fortunately, there are not many people like [redacted] in the Treasure Valley. We will not refund any money to Mr*** All of the deposit funds have been spent on their project Please see the accounting below.Electrician $1646.00Excavation $600.00Hauling $400.00Concrete forms $Total $2946.00Mrs [redacted] was always very nice to us however, Mr [redacted] is a very mean and condescending person We will not work with these kinds of people After I told him that I would not work for him any further he started to threaten me by text, over and over again, blowing up my phone (which I will happily produce in court).I will include his email correspondence, which I will also produce in court if needed. In conclusion, their project is 75% complete All that's left is to install 3" of road mix and compact it Pour concrete and finalize the electrical installation This could easily be accomplished for $or less.Sincerely,Robere K [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] ***

I was contracted by [redacted] and [redacted] to construct an 8'X8' concrete pad for their new hot tub.   The contract included installing a new 220v line from the garage electrical panel to the site of the hot tub pad.We discussed their needs and agreed on how and where the pad would be located....

I collected a deposit check of $2600 to get started (which is half of the total contract, $5200) the second half was due once the project was complete.   Before I started or collected a check I made it very clear that I was on other projects and I would get their project done but it would be a process and we would not be there every day working on their project.   They agreed and said that would not be a problem. We hand excavated the area to a depth of 8".   We removed and disposed of nearly two tons of dirt.  We then installed forms for the concrete.   At this point, my electrician came and roughed in the conduit for the electrical for the hot tub.   It was placed in the wrong position.   Mr. [redacted] told me it was in the wrong position and I told him we would move it.   After moving it, it was again placed in the wrong position.   It was at this point that Mr. [redacted] wrote me an email that I found to be very offensive and insulting (see below).   I emailed him back that we should talk.   He called me and was insulting and verbally abusive.   I told him that I agreed that the conduit was not in the right spot but we had not poured concrete yet and it would be in the right place before we did.   He complained that I was not doing my job and that I was not communicating with my sub contractors.   He questioned if my electrician was qualified to work on this project.   I assured him that our electrician is licensed and had pulled a permit on the project.   Again he questioned if I being truthful.   At this point he gave me an ultimatum, "are you going to finish this job or do I need someone else to finish the job?"   I told him to find someone else.Throughout the project, he questioned me and micromanaged the process.   After 30 years in the industry, as a licensed General Contractor, I refuse to be micromanaged and/or spoken to, in a disrespectful way, by a client.   We will not do work for people like that.   Fortunately, there are not many people like [redacted] in the Treasure Valley. We will not refund any money to Mr. [redacted].   All of the deposit funds have been spent on their project.   Please see the accounting below.Electrician                                $1646.00Excavation                               $600.00Hauling                                     $400.00Concrete forms                        $300.00 Total                                         $2946.00Mrs. [redacted] was always very nice to us however, Mr. [redacted] is a very mean and condescending person.   We will not work with these kinds of people.  After I told him that I would not work for him any further he started to threaten me by text, over and over again, blowing up my phone (which I will happily produce in court).I will include his email correspondence, which I will also produce in court if needed. In conclusion, their project is 75% complete.   All that's left is to install 3" of road mix and compact it.   Pour concrete and finalize the electrical installation.   This could easily be accomplished for $2600 or less.Sincerely,Robere K[redacted]
