Review: A vehicle was purchased from Johnson Motors for 10,000 dollars, which is what vehicles exactly alike this specific one were being sold for elsewhere. We felt that we found the best deal at Johnson motors, as we were signing papers they told us that it is Wisconsin law to tell us everything that is wrong with the vehicle before signing the final agreements and they told us that everything they found wrong with the vehicle was fixed and it is in great condition. About two days later I brought said vehicle to my personal mechanic and he found over 1,000 dollars worth of issues with the vehicle that needed to be fixed so it could drive safely, basically the whole front end, a lot of these things that were repaired are things that wear over time and you can see that they are going to be a safety issue far ahead of time. Then two months after this vehicle was purchased (9-22-2015) the transmission went out and we had absolutely no warning. If we were told that the vehicle would have had up to/ over 3,000 dollars worth of issues we would not have purchased it, but this is what we are stuck with now.Desired Settlement: We get that you can't tell when the transmission will go out, but the safety issues that were fixed are things that you can tell are going to be an issue ahead of time, especially two days after the purchase of the vehicle. We would like the costs of all of the issues found two days after purchase to be covered.

Response:

This vehicle was sold as-is with no warranty. Customer signed additional agreement stating vehicle is sold "AS IS WITH ALL FAULTS" Purchase contract, WI buyers guide and red tag agreement are attached. Vehicle was inspected by a Certified Technician prior to sale and at that time had no known safety or driveability issues. We don't sell vehicle's with known safety or reliability issues, that would be poor customer service and a liabilty.

Review: In June of 2015 we purchased a car from Johnson Motors, the salesperson was [redacted]. I was present for the entire time and have no doubt that we were lied to intentionally. My husband, [redacted] made it clear that he wanted a REAL TIRE for the spare, not a donut and not a fix a flat that comes with the car. [redacted] left us in her office to go OK it with her boss. Came back a bit later and said it was no problem but the tire would not be ready until the next week. She was very convincing that it was a done deal and told us that she would deliver it to our house which is not far from her dad's house. [redacted] told her if she could drop it off at his work that would be fine etc. [redacted] called a few weeks later and she was working on getting it yet, [redacted] called a few weeks after that and she had to be reminded of the promise. Since then every phone called placed (by [redacted]) she has claimed to not know a thing about it. Her boss also claims he had no knowledge of this agreement. While it was not ever put in writing (like I said Jess was very convincing) and we never saw him or anyone besides Jess, we believed in good faith that she was sincere and would uphold this agreement. I remember that day very clearly, both my husband and I work a lot, 40-50 hours a week. We also have a farm to attend to when we are home. I do know that we will never buy another vehicle from this business and none of our friends or co-workers will either. I'll tell them what I tell the kids at school...Just don't lie.Desired Settlement: Deliver the tire that was promised six months ago and issue us a new license plate. XFU is nothing I would have complained about if they had treated us with respect, but it is a reflection on the whole transaction.

Response:

Attached is a document called "We Owe" that we have all customers sign at the time of purchase to avoid these types of issues. This document gives the customer an opportunity to put in writing anything verbally promised in the deal. You will notice this was acknowledged by [redacted] as "Nothing Additional Owed".The Sales Manager has offered a spare tire comparable to what would come from GM with a 2015 Malibu. These vehicles do not come from the factory with a full-size spare tire. They either come with what you refer to as a "doughnut" or an inflator kit.

That day we were signing many papers and I do not remember signing this one. Perhaps if [redacted] had explained what we were giving up we would never have been in this mess. Like I stated earlier my husband used to work with [redacted]'s dad and we truly believed she would uphold her promise. [redacted] was well aware that the only way we were leaving with the car that day was with the mentioned tire included. I know of at least three people who have bought a car since this happened to us that intentionally did not go to this dealership. We reject this offer because it is not what was promised. We do not make 'deals' that we have no intention of keeping, so for us this is unimaginable that this was done intentionally.

Horrible service, EXTREMELY POOR Communication. Would NEVER hope to have a friend or family member go to this Franchise. 1. They don't help out customers by sending cars to a nearer dealership 2. Even when you decide on a vehicle, they sell it out from under you. Completely unacceptable customer service.
