Review: I purchased the product DrDepth which is a product that was purchased entirely (including the customer base) by Johnson Outdoors, the product has not worked as advertised since delivery.

According to Johnson's Outdoors email to me on July 8th 2013:

"As a current DrDepth customer, you will continue to be supported during integration into the Johnson Outdoors Marine Electronics business"

I have contacted Johnson Outdoors for support and spoken to Brooke and Deborah, but they are unwilling to provide support or provide a refund for the product.Desired Settlement: Full Refund: $327.87 USD

Attached is information from the owner of Dr. Depth in Sweden, Per [redacted]. Mr. [redacted], did have multiple email communications with Mr. Simpson in 2012. Those communications ended with PayPal refusing Mr. Simpson’s claim against Dr. Depth. As an organization, we did not purchase Mr. [redacted]’s (Dr. Depth’s) customer base nor the service of that product. We strictly purchase software code from him. Mr. [redacted] is still responsible for the customer service of his former product.

Based on communications with Mr. [redacted] and reading the emails, I do not understand that this is a situation where the product did not work properly, more so that it just worked differently than Mr. Simpson wanted it to.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Review: On 05-07-14 I sent the following email. "I have a rogue river 14tk canoe. The center wood piece in the canoe. Guess its a thwart. Not sure what I need. It needs to be replaced. Can you help me?". As you can see, I told them I was looking to replace the center wood part of my canoe. I said I "guess" at what it might be called and even said I am NOT sure what I need. After all, they make these canoes so they should be able to answer me and know what part I would need. On 05-07-14 I got this reply. "Thank you for the email. Your Rogue River should need a 40” thwart. We do offer a 40” Straight Thwart for $21.99. You can order it online at http://store.oldtowncanoe.com/dyn_prodlist.php?k=314085 or call us direct and any of our reps will be able to assist you with that. I hope this helps. Thanks again and have a great day." I went to the link thinking it was with this company. After all, I wrote to them. When I looked at the picture, it looked like what I needed. A straight piece of wood with square ends. Again, I still have no clue what the part is and they told me it is a thwart. So I ordered it. Well, it took 1 1/2 to 2 weeks to get shipped from New York to PA. When I got it, it was clearly not what I ordered or need. I double checked my canoe and it will NOT work. After many emails with this company, which I can send you all of them upon request, I found out I did not order from this company. I was unknowing sent to some dealer. The dealer told me I need a Yoke and not a thwart. The part I ordered was a 40" straight piece of wood with square ends. I got a board longer then 40" and with slanted ends. This company kept saying if it is longer then 40" to cut it down. They failed to understand simple english when I told them it had slanted ends and not square ends. Finally after days of going back and forth that I got the wrong part and want the right part, they offered me a return for refund. When I was reading what to do to send back, I noticed I had to pay to ship back. When I questioned this company on why I have to pay to ship out after they told me to buy the wrong part, they just refused to pay to ship back and said I ordered from a dealer. I asked them what part I needed and I wanted to order from them. Why would I order from a dealer when I contacted them. This company told me to buy a certain part after I told them what I needed and they failed to give me the correct info. Because of them, I ordered a part I can not use and now I am to lose money because they, the people that make the canoe told me the wrong part. Then they refuse to fix there error. This is just poor service and a very bad sales of a product. The company misrepresented itself and it's product and I believe in a gross and fraudulent way. And if you read there email to me, they said they have the part for order.Desired Settlement: I request at the very least, to have the item returned for a full refund and that this company pays to have it shipped back. I would like to have this company also to send me the correct part I need and asked for at no cost due to all the hassle I been through.

This customer was contacted on two seperate occassions and we have not received a reponse. Our communication is below:

This company offers many rebates to get you to buy their products but will not necesarily honor them. They can tell you they did not receive your information even though you provide copies. The WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I spend thousands of dollars on outdoor equipment only to be rejected for a measely $20 rebate. I will not buy one more item from this Manufacturer!
All my fishing clubs and facebook friends will hear about this. I guess when you are a big company you can crap on the little guy.
