My partner and I have had very negative issues with this company. He paid off a $448 outstanding debt to JHA and it was never credited to the account by this collection bureau. We will repay to them directly because we will not take that loss again.

Mine was a "debt" to CRBC that never should have been taken.. I was kicked out after only 6 days due to abscense from severe food poisoning, and CRBC took a federal grant that more than paid for those 6 days of classes. I had to threaten to report this credit bureau to the federal student loan and grant association before they finally removed the debt and quit harassing me.

RE: ID [redacted]/Account # [redacted]Dear [redacted],This is in response to the complaint against Johnstown Credit Bureau, filed on 04/07/16, by [redacted]...

[redacted], ID [redacted]/Account # [redacted]. We are a third party collection agency and collect for many clients, one of which is [redacted], LLC. We do not handle any type of billing for [redacted]. The account was sent to us with a balance due of $100.00. [redacted] had instructed us to add our fee onto the balances owed by patients they sent for collections. Our fees are percentage based on the age of the account according to the date of service or debt date. This consumer's account had a date of service of 04/07/15 which made the fee on this account 50% thus making the balance due $150.00.The account was entered into our system on 01/08/16 and the first letter was sent to the consumer on 01/12/16. We received no response from the consumer regarding this account. The consumer should have contacted us immediately to let us know that payment had been made on this account. In the complaint, the consumer states this account was paid directly to [redacted], LLC. I contacted [redacted] on 04/11/16 and received an email stating that the patient had a balance of $100.00. A $25.00 payment was made to [redacted] on 12/28/15 and $75.00 payment was made to [redacted] on 02/02/16. We were never notified by [redacted] that any payments were made on this account so we had no idea it had been paid.[redacted] sent a large batch of accounts to us for collections in December and it took quite some time to get them all entered in our system. At the time this account was entered, we had not been notified that a payment had been made. [redacted] states that when this account was sent to us, the patient owed a balance of $100.00 which is the amount we entered into our system plus our fee of $50.00 bringing the total to $150.00. Unless we were notified by the consumer or the client ([redacted]), we would have no way to know that the balance had been paid.
The consumer could have contacted us directly to resolve this issue and we would have gladly verified the information with [redacted], marked the account paid in full and removed it from the consumer’s credit file at that time. Again, I want to state that we were never contacted by the consumer to try to resolve this issue. The account has been marked paid in full and will also be removed from the consumer’s credit file. Please allow up to 72 business hours for the change to be reflected on the consumer’s credit file.I expect the business review of Johnstown Credit Bureau to reflect that this issue has been answered and resolved and the status of our business will reflect a clean record. If you have any questions or require any additional information, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,

Angela G[redacted]Manager

Review: I received a collections letter from a local business called [redacted] in reguards to a late medical bill- in which it stated that I owed them 75.00. I paid the 75.00 bill via check, and that check was cashed on February 2, 2016 (I can provide a copy.) In the mean time, Johnstown Credit Bureau sent a collections notice for the total amount due, pus a fee. I did not pay that fee, because I already paid the debt off with the original company. Despite me paying the debt, Johnstown credit bureau put a delinquent bill on my credit report, causing a large decline in my credit score. I paid the bill, therefore I am not delinquent.Desired Settlement: I want the delinquency removed and am not paying the bill twice- it has already been paid.
