I have been in contact with [redacted] and the situation has been resolved please contact her as she indicated she would withdraw her complaint To briefly address the situation, neither party was willing to sign the documentation necessary to cancel the policy as the Carrier requires a signed cancelation form for all mid-term cancels I discussed this with my UW at Austin Mutual and he indicated that if neither party wanted to sign a cancelation request then the policy would cancel at renewal for non-payment of premium this is what happened The issue then was that the carrier (Austin Mutual) did send out a past due notice for earned premium which is when I was contacted again, I apologized as my UW told me this would not happen I quickly rectified that situation, and it is taken care of to the best of my knowledge Thank you Jon Krog

I would like to close this complaintMrJon Krog did take actions to remedy the situation However his statement to you is inaccurate and I would like to clarify that response Jon states that he made contact with me personally about a cancellation statement Jon never communicated to me directly, that I needed to do that In my divorce settlement with *** Krog (Jon's cousin), it was indicated that *** needed to cancel the home owners insurance for our home, once our home was sold It was communicated to me, by ***, that this was done I didn't think anything of this until I got a bill in July of from Austin Mutual At that time the policy was primarily under my name I had my father contact Jon because of Jon's relationship with my ex husband Jon told my dad that he and *** would take care of canceling the insurance and not to worry about it Once again, I thought the situation was taken care of In January of I received a collections notice for the insurance payment When I contacted Austin Mutual they informed me that this policy was overdue and not cancelled until September of They had also told me that *** had been removed as a primary insurer in April (this was a month before we sold our house) He was moved to a person of interest and on the other insured line- but not the primary person This was done without my knowledge or consent I was primarily left on this policy by myself and was being held financially responsible for the debt that occurred after we sold our property and after the cancelation was suppose to have taken effect I never received one phone call from Jon himself about the action I needed to take to cancel it and again it was my impression that *** had done this When I asked Jon why this all fell back on my responsibility and why I alone went thru the collection processHe stated *** was taken off the address line because he no longer lived at the property I as well no longer lived at the property, but Jon didn't remove me from the address line I personally feel he was negligent and had a conflict of interest and only looked out for *** in this situation Jon was aware the property had been sold, but he made no attempt to cancel our policy until September of He made no attempt to contact me about signing any such form He told my father that this was taken care of I'm only dropping this complaint because he did remedy the situation, after the fact and he did make it right in the end If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me I did attach the home insurance form where it shows that *** was removed as a primary policy holder and moved to the third party line To me this appears to have been done to clear *** of any responsibility with the policy
