Our septic system was only inspected by the engineer who designed it before we ever moved in as he is the only one licensed to do so After the adjustments to the exterior ventilation system were made to our septic system it was not inspected by anyoneThe adjustment was to direct the odor from inside the kitchen to outside our fenceThe odors persisted after the above changes were made and Lifestyle had a roofer add a charcoal filter to our roof vent which later led to airlock causing our upstairs bathroom to overflow into our kitchenLifestyle then had a roofer remove the filter while they researched getting another type for a long period of timeWe did not allow them to install another filter when they found one because we were advised by several people that you should never cap off anything that needs to let air escapeOur neighbor with the same septic system allowed them to reinstall a filter because they were willing to try what they suggested hoping to stop their odorsThe county saw the vent filter on their home and said that they were illegal and had Lifestyle remove it immediately. Our odors persisted and our neighbors along with us, not Lifestyle reached out to the dept of public utilities, the county health department, the county plumbing inspector all of whom are not licensed to inspect our septic system, so they did not inspect itThe county tested our outside water as they can't test the inside and it was deemed potableWe, not Lifestyle had our water tested inside and it was potableThe county plumbing inspector opened a complaint, came to our home and suspected the smell in our drain was septic gas thus a problem with our septic systemLifestyle continued to blame the odor on the county water, this was never where the odor was coming fromIf this were the case the water in our whole house would smell and our smell is in the drain, not the waterThe smell comes up through the master sink drain when the water is first turned on creating a straw effect as the county explained, when the drain is plugged with the water on the smell is absentWhen you put the water in a glass, it does not smellIf the problem were the water everyone on our street, especially the cul de sac would have a water odor, none of us doWe live on a cul de sac with homes, only of the houses have this odor issue outside and in drainsEvery road in our community ends in a cul de sacWe have spoken with many neighbors in the community about our odor issues and only other Lifestyle homeowners with our similar design layout and septic have reported similar odors inside and outside their homesWe only have one neighbor that happens to have the same floor plan and septic system with smells outside and coming from their drain, again not the waterLifestyle has continued to point to the county water system as the source of the odor yet the testing of the water has produced results that prove their accusations wrongThe fact is the source of the odor has not been identifiedThe results of the changes and water testing that were completed points to something wrong with either the plumbing or septic design. The county plumbing inspector, not Lifestyle arranged for a meeting with the septic engineer, the installer of the septic system, the county health dept, the deputy building official for the county and himself at our home and our neighbors home on January 20, None of them said that it was impossible for gas to escape back into our home, we had it escape into our kitchen which was why they made adjustments to the exterior ventilation systemAs a matter of fact, the county plumbing inspector is the only one who spoke with us that day as the others were outside meetingHe came to us inside our home and said that they had all agreed that air testing needed to be arranged by Lifestyle to find out and troubleshoot the cause of the odors not that the septic system was installed and working properly as Lifestyle claimsLifestyle stated that the health department explained to us that these odors are not uncommon, this conversation did not happenPlease ask the county including the health department. On October 28,Lifestyle sent us and email about sending their plumbing contractor to inspect the odors in our master bath sinks but this never happenedUnfortunately, on November 4,Lifestyle sent us an email saying that they were not taking any further action and will no longer investigateThey refused to be responsible for identifying the source of the odors and that we will need to identify the source at our cost and time, then go through arbitration to dispute and get them to fix any deficiencies foundOur odor issues still exist, are currently present and have been since we moved in a year and a half agoThese odors were reported and recorded several times as part of our warranty items to be fixed by the builder

I am writing in response to a complaint filed by Mr. [redacted] about a warranty concern at his home. The concern relates to the concrete driveway surface, which has developed some minor surface cracks since the original installation. Our warranty clearly states that there is no warranty coverage...

for this type of concrete surface cracking. Nevertheless, we have agreed to return to Mr. [redacted] home and seal the small surface crack with a concrete sealant material. This will be addressed within the next two weeks, as time and weather allow. Sincerely,

To whom it may concern: Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] have an engineered septic system that was installed roughly two years ago, as part of a new construction home project. After occupancy of the new home began, the client reported an odor on the exterior of the home near the septic ventilation system....

Based on suggestions from the septic manufacturer and a licensed professional engineer, we made adjustments to the exterior ventilation system in order to minimize the impact of the odor to the clients. After the adjustments were made, we held a lengthy on-site meeting with the client that included representatives from the [redacted], the [redacted], the septic installer, and the engineer who designed the system. The conclusion from this meeting was that the septic system was installed and operating properly. During this meeting, the experts on site explained how the septic system works and that it was impossible that a gas smell could travel back from the tanks into the house. The [redacted] has also explained to Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] that an occasional smell from the exterior ventilation system is not uncommon to have with a septic system. Regarding the indoor odors, Lifestyle has previously received reports of a “sulfur” odor at sinks. It was explained to us that only occasionally the water smells like sulfur. There have been a few of our clients in the same section of the street that have reported similar odors. Based upon our investigation of this matter at this home, as well as at other homes, we have concluded that the water odors do not have anything to do with installation or the products used to build the home, but is due to the chemical nature of the treated water supplied by [redacted]. We have reached this conclusion after detailed investigations, which have included a number of water potability tests. Each of those potability tests have shown that the water is potable. It has been explained to each of our clients who have reported these water odors that they need to file a complaint with the Public Works department if they feel there is an issue with the water. In summary, the [redacted] residence has gone through the proper construction steps including all inspections required by [redacted]. Part of the inspection process includes making sure all of the plumbing fixtures are vented properly. Lifestyle and [redacted] have made multiple trips on site to investigate and make sure that all claims have been investigated and made sure there are no issues with the products or installation.

I don't have any payments made to the business unless you are referring to my contract to buy the home. My home was to be under warranty from one year of the purchase date of October 30,2015. Please let me know if you need any more information. The odors were reported in person during the third month of occupancy and I attached the 5 month and 11 month warranty list. This was also reported several times in person when Lifestyles customer care team was in my home for other repairs. Thank you in advance.I have several more files to attach but I reached the maximum
