Jones and Sons Construction [redacted]

to [redacted]

Good morning. My name is [redacted] Jones and I am the owner of Jones and Sons Construction. I am sending this e-mail containing my statement reguardint the [redacted] case. My I.D. # is [redacted] The issue at hand began back in november when the homeowner requested a concrete back yard which consisted of me removing the old concrete and digging up a lawn area, next she wanted glass block windows that I installed after waiting for them to come in because they were special order. Also there was a bilko door that was a special order and I see that she was new to construction and real estate and did not understand that when the winter came in and bad weather that things were put on hold. As I move forward I informed [redacted] that It does not seem like we could do buisness together after I recived a threatening phone call that she denies having involvement.Last week I have sent her a $500.00 bank check and I will be sending another bank check for the same amount this week.Ms Harris will recive her refund and I will remain to be a professional as I conduct my buisness. You may call me at [redacted] Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:

one because he has made excuses from November to now we have not had bad whether all the way up to now I have had concrete work done between then and now so he just making excuses he just didn't want to complete my job as promised and on the other hand I have made a complaint to the company that sent him to me and the action 6 news and he has agreed to refund 1,555.00 he did not state that to you so hopefully he do as agreed I have received 500.00 dollars from him balance owed is 1,055.00 from Mr. Jones he lied because he was giving me excuses of the door being ordered and he was waiting on the doors but I spoke to the company that he ordered the doors from he hasn't pick the doors up until this day when I last spoke with the company the lady at the company has been trying to contact Mr Jones on numerous occasions he has not responded the doors has been back before Christmas and she was furiously mad at me asking me to come to pick up the doors nor picked up the doors I feel he use my money to get threw the end of year to beginning of year to get threw holidays and after that he has chosen not to complete my job the company that sent him to me was Home Advisor.

Review: On 7/23, via an emailed proposal, demolition of our driveway began. $2,028.50 was given and cashed by Mr. Jones as a 50% deposit for the work to be completed and the other 50% would be paid upon completion. The scope of the work stated this company would dig our driveway up so the pipes could be removed by a plumber, the wall surrounding our front lawn would be demolished and be replaced, and the driveway would be repaved with concrete. The driveway demolition took 2 days. The plumber we hired came out on the 24th and replaced the piping and put all the dirt that was removed from our driveway back. There was no further work done until 7/28, when a male Mr. Jones hired came out to begin to level out the dirt to begin its preparation for concrete pouring. He left all of the dirt in the street. 7/29 and 7/30 we did not hear from Mr. Jones regarding work. 7/31, two males were outside my house discussing the work, my husband asked if they were there to do the wall and they said yes but could complete work until the wall was dug out and a footer was laid. Mr. Jones was contacted and he stated he needed to subcontract a laborer to do this. My husband then hired someone himself to get this portion of the job done, just to expedite the completion of work. 8/1, no work was completed due to rain. 8/2, several calls were made to [redacted] Jones who told us at 8 am, the masonry subcontractors were to be at our home at 9. 9:30, we called Mr. Jones who stated they were in traffic and on their way. We then called him at 10:30 and 11:30 with no response. I then contacted Action News - Call for Action at 1:30 who stated they would contact Mr. Jones on our behalf. At 2:30, two males knocked on my door stating they were there to do the masonry work on the wall. At 3:00 pm, Mr. Jones showed up, did not make contact with myself or my husband and left by 3:30. At 5:00 pm, the masonry workers we getting ready to leave after putting up a quarter of the wall, stating to me, if we wanted any further work done, we would need to pay them 300 a day for at least 2 days. Since then, no further contact was made to or from Mr. Jones. Then then had to hire and exceed our cost with another company. We had to take a loan out to complete this work and we did not have any further money to pay for this causing us to sacrifice both of our paychecks and go beyond our means to pay for completion of this job. Mr. Jones left the front of our home in an unsafe manner, leaving us open for potential lawsuits for children at play or walking pedestrians. Additionally, my neighbor (with the conjoining driveway and sidewalk) has endured the same issue but only paid Mr. Jones $500 as a downpayment to complete his driveway and sidewalk.Desired Settlement: We would like to be compensated for the work this company did not complete. If the job was going to take 7 days to complete, Mr. Jones completed 2 days worth. We would like to be refunded 1,400 dollars as only a 25% of the work was complete on this job. In the matter of dollars and sense, 7 days at 290 per day would leave Mr. Jones to be paid for 580 for his work.
