I reviewed the photos Gutknecht took of the end of our driveway
at our property at [redacted] Rd, Galena, Ohio.
Not one picture depicted the damage that was done to our driveway. The damage to the driveway is on the west side of the drive not the east as shown in the pictures. The large trucks could not make the turn into
the driveway heading east to our neighbors property having the work
completed. In order to make the turn,
they had to move forward and backwards several times taking their wheels over
the west end of the driveway
breaking it off. I have attached pictures of the damaged
driveway that I sent to Jeff F[redacted], President of Gutknecht, in an e-mail in
October of last year.
If Mike P[redacted] or whoever came to the property would have
come to my door or called to say can I meet you to discuss, I would have been happy
to meet them to show them the damage. Still
after numerous requests to meet with a Gutknecht representative to discuss and
show them the damage personally, they have not reached out for a face to face
meeting. As stated in my previous letter
to the Revdex.com, at no time has anyone from Gutknecht ever made and attempt to meet
me at the end of my driveway so I can personally show them damage that was
incurred by their large trucks coming onto my property. I reached out to Anthony H[redacted], who was the
project manager, numerous times who was on site to oversee the job to show him
the damage with no results. I’m retired
and home most of the day and while they were out taking pictures they could
have called stating we are on our way or stopped by and knocked on my door and
introduce themselves and I would have been happy to discuss. Still no resolution because they do not know
the true damage to the drive and lack of communication with myself.
I did receive a call about two weeks after the initial
letter to the Revdex.com from I believe was Mike P[redacted] at Gutknecht. Mike apologized stating he thought Anthony
H[redacted] had completed the repair. The
representative stated Anthony was no longer employed at their company and asked
if we would accept $3,000 and get the repairs completed on our own. I said that is acceptable and assumed the issue
was resolved. Now I get the response
back from the Revdex.com stating they were out, took pictures and are wondering where
the damage is. Again a face to face meeting
to discuss would have resolved the issue last year!
My driveway still needs fixed and if Gutknecht wants to get
their own asphalt company out to fix that is fine. I went out on my own to get
an estimate since Gutknecht, per Anthony H[redacted] was having issues getting a
contractor to come out and give him estimates.
Gutknecht can call the vendor I solicited a bid from to discuss. If they want to pay him directly that is fine
too. The vendor is [redacted] Asphalt
Sealing, estimator was [redacted]. [redacted]’s
phone is ###-###-####, he can explain his damage findings and resolution. I did try to solicit bids from other
contractors but unless it was a large job like the entire driveway they would
not come out. If they did come out for work there was a
minimum fee associated with work.
Attached are photos of the damaged portion of the
driveway and if Gutknecht wants to get their own vendor out to repair I have no
issues, I just want the driveway fixed. In attachment ([redacted] driveway C) you can see the area broken off and crumbled on west side of driveway from horizontal crack to mail box. This was damage caused by large trucks going onto the neighbors property to build the garage. It
has been since June of 2015 trying to work with Gutknecht for resolution. If Gutknecht decides to get their own vendor for repairs I would like to meet with a Gutknecht representative and the
estimator to ensure the job is being done to my satisfaction and the area will
not break off in the future.
