Service, charges, customer service.On behalf of the thousands of customers that are having issues with this electrical company. This companies customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. They are very rude. Each month we never receive a bill in the mail as to what we owe. But we do receive a disconnect notice with up charges for it being past due. Myself as well as a few other people I associate with have had issues with our bills being higher than it should. A few people that I know have left to go home and shut all of their power off to the house, when they came back their bill was just as high if not higher than before. After contacting the company they say that it's the normal amount for that address. I have always been under the impression that you pay for what you use. Why is it that us as consumers are paying for something we aren't using just because they are trying to meet a quote for that house and other houses.Desired SettlementContact business with complaint ExplanationBusiness Response Responses made on any complaint is made directly to our customer.

Additionally I would request that a good will deletion of the collection off of any and all credit reporting agencies once I receive the bill and pay it.Business Response Jones-Onslow prefers to resolve any customer issues with our customer. I have made contact with the customer listed in this complaint and await his response.Thank you.Consumer Response Jones-Onslow is refusing to remove the collections from my credit report even though they failed to contact me or send me a bill. I will not be satisfied with this complaint until the collections are removed from my credit reports. This debt was sent to collections without contacting me once.Final Business Response Once an unpaid bill has been reported to the credit agencies, we are only able to update the status. Multiple contact methods were utilized to reach consumer prior to anything being submitted to any credit agencies. Consumer was advised once the debt has been paid, the credit agencies are notified to update their records.

The electric company billing is ridiculous. Myself as well as everybody in my community bills have increased $150 plus dollars in a matter of months. My bill has went up over $200 in the past 2 months. The excuse they give as to why our bills are high doesn't make any sense and I have never heard of it before, nor have I ever had this problem in the past. All tips given by JOEMC have been done and there is still a huge increase in the bill. I call about the increase and they say my water heater and my pipes are working overtime because it's cold outside. I don't change my settings and I have a water heater cover as suggested. I have lived in this area before and I have never had a increase in my bill of 200 plus dollars nor have I ever heard any of the excuses that they are telling the people when they call concerned about their bill. My husband and I are barely home because we work and there is no way that I should have recieved a $403 electric bill this month and a $323 electric bill the month before, when my normal is between 180-190. This seems to be done because in this area we have no other options for an electric company except to go without. Pretty soon nobody is going to be able to pay any other bills in their homes because their entire checks are going to the electric company. It is ridiculous and it needs to be looked at. Whatever is going on, or however they are adjusting these bills needs to be rectified. Desired SettlementI just want the company to look at the amount of money they are charging these families. To have a increase of a $200 electric bill with no type of warning can impact many families. To offer not type of programs, or pro-rated amounts as many other companies do is just wrong. I just want a reasonable explanaation of why my normal bill keeping all things the same, and making no adjustments is 190 to two month later my bill is $403. There is no way any one person can explain this increase to me. Business Response Jones-Onslow has made contact with our customer to resolve her issues.

Outside security light struck by lightning and they replaced with a different kind of light.My outside security light, which I pay Jones Onslow Electric $9.00 a month for, was struck by lightning two weeks ago, apx. 12/30/2015. They ended up replacing the whole light with a newer style light around the 6th or 7th of January. This light does not put off anywhere near as much light, so I called in a complaint about it. The lady I spoke with on 1/11/16 had a guy call me today, (1/12/16)not sure of his name. He explained that they could not change out to old style light, that this is what they were told to use. I told him my concern, and he commented that I was definitely not the first one to complain about this. He preceded to tell me that I could get a brighter light, and I asked how much this was and he said $17.00 a month. Summary, they are putting up cheaper lights so they can charge almost double the price to get the light you previously had. It is obvious I cannot stop doing business with them, but want to be treated fairly.Desired SettlementI would like to receive the same brightness for the same price I have always paid. I have to use them for my electric and don't want to cause any trouble, but at the same time I don't want to be treated like this.Business Response Contact is being made with the consumer to resolve her dissatisfaction.Consumer Response Two guys from JOEMC came out on Thursday afternoon, 1/14/1016. They explained they were going to put up a different light. Another guy, [redacted] who I had spoken to on the phone came up behind them. He explained they had accidently put up a roadway light, which casts an oblong light pattern and they were putting up an area light, which I should have had to begin with. He left his number and I was to call him the next day. I called Mr. [redacted] on 1/15/16 and explained that the light they had put up Thursday was the same kind of light, the lightning is no different. I can tell because I have cameras outside and a monitor on the inside and I am very familiar with how far the light shines out from the pole. I asked him why they would put up a roadway light for an area light anyway and his response was the company sent them by mistake. He said to let him see what he could do and he would call me back. I spoke with him about 9:00 Friday morning and I never head back from him.More Info Received From ConsumerI just received a call from Mr. [redacted] and he stated there was nothing else they could do. I ask to speak with someone over him and he said he would see what he could do.More Info Received From ConsumerI received another call this afternoon from Mr. [redacted] who had his supervisor present and was told there was nothing they could do. I ask him if thought I was being treated fairly and he didn't answer, just changed the subject.
