Yes I have rented Jones place for a 60 birthday party july 18 2020 and because of Coronavirus I'm asking for a refund of my $200 deposit not going to be able to have the party which consist of a hundred plus people I have email *** send message a letter in the mail and also sent her a text message asking for a refund of my $200 deposit money and she have not respond 3 notification that I have said her I was just wanted to know how was she planning on handling this situation knowing that the party cannot go forward
Jones Plaza LLC like most small businesses is experiencing some challenges as a result of the pandemic. I was hopeful that the government shutdown would end prior to May 2020. I had planned to refund the contracts for March and April which would have offered minimal financial strain. Yet, the shutdown has been extended with no clear end date for businesses that require large gatherings in the stated of Illinois. Therefore, I have asked my lawyer and insurance company to assist me going forward.
Several customers have asked to prematurely cancel their contract with dates through October 2020. I have offered my customers the option to reschedule their event to another day within a calendar year.
Ms. Reed along with other customers is under the assumption that the pandemic automatically cancels their contractual obligations. I have asked my lawyer to review my customer contracts and advise me on my legal obligation. Additionally, I have placed another claim with my insurance company; they agreed to review my claim with their legal department. I will contact everyone in writing with the conclusion.
I have enclosed a copy of Ms. Reed's contract for your review. As stated deposits/ payments are not refundable in part or in whole should the renter cancel the event prior to the event day. She asked cancel in April; yet, her event day is set for July 18, 2020 with a balance due June 18, 2020.

We booked with them in January. In March, I called to see if they will be returning money for an event. She told me that she has to wait until her insurance company to cover her cancelled events due to the pandemic. She told me that she was returning money to people that had events in March and April and since my event was in May, I would be next to receive my refund. I saw on social media that she has not paid the consumers from March and April yet. She lied to me. I don't understand why she spent people deposits.
