Jordan Mechanical came out to repair a water leak in our rental townhouse. The completion notes on our invoice stated "Found a leak under quest valve, it was being held together by tape and 2 hose clamps, tech also found leaks in the walls and ceilings. Removed the toiled and installed new johnny bolts and wax ring." There were no leaks in the walls and ceilings and there was no leak in the toilet. There was a leak in the quest valve that was not repaired. So, we were charged $240 for 2 service calls and a toilet repair that was not needed. Our tenant wouldn't let us back in on the 2nd service call so the quest valve continued to leak for 1.5 months, ruining our flooring and drywall. After repeated calls (~5 calls) to Jordan Mechanical our bill was reduced to $200. We were willing to pay for the service call but since our leak was not repaired, we didn't feel it was fair to pay for a repair that wasn't necessary or the 2nd service call. There was no satisfaction from the many phone calls we made to Jordan Mechanical. We were told that Mr. Jordan would call us, but he never did. So, we are paying $200 for repairing a toilet that was not leaking while the real problem was not fixed. After we were able to get back into our townhouse, a plumber fixed the actual problem in 15 minutes. So, calling Jordan Mechanical cost us $200, plus what we had to pay to the 2nd plumber who charged us $140 to fix the actual leak, plus $2,800 to replace the flooring and repair the drywall caused by not fixing the problem the first time. Very costly mistake. We will never recommend Jordan Mechanical and will tell anyone who asks us not to use this company under any circumstances.

Per our phone conversation recently, I had spoken to Mr. on the phone regarding his complaint, and we answered all his questions, and even reduced the amount of h¡s Invoice as a courtesy to him, eventhough the amount we billed was a very fair price! At the end of the conversation, I asked *** if he was satisfied with the Invoice Reduction, and in my answers to his questions, and to his conversation with one of our Plumbers who had done the work, to which he replied, yes, he was satisfied and the Plumber's answers to him were satisfactory, but that he was still going to complain to you guys there at the Revdex.com. I asked him was there anything further we could do, and even let him speak to my Plumber again, to which he replied that he understood, but that he would still file his complaint??The basics of what occurred were as follows: Mr.' Tenant called stating that her Toilet was leaking and in need of repair, to which we replied that we must have the OK from the Property Owner first before performing any work, namely ***, to which she responded by having him call our Office at which time he gave us the OK to perform the plumbing work. Our Plumber did the job on the To¡let satisfactorily, but pointed out to the Tenant that some other work was needed, but that we could not proceed without the OK from the Owner, again, Mr., so my Plumber contacted Mr. and arranged to meet him at the said Property to perform other needed work, at which time when our Plumber and *** met at Property, the Tenant REFUSED to let them in to do any further work. At that point, we still had to bill for our Plumber's time, as it was not our fault that the Tenant did not allow us in to do needed work. Thus, at a later date Mr. informed us that he had gotten someone else to repair the additional plumbing issue, and complained about paying us for theadditional trip to site, a visit for which we were turned away. In good faith, we cut Mr. Invoice by an agreed upon amount, and in doing so thought the Customer was satisfied, and all was resolved, even though we were taking a loss on the job(s).So, as far as we are concerned, we performed a quality job, treated our Customer with respect, answered all his concerns, and even took a loss on the job to reduce his Invoice to an agreed upon price, we would have repaired the additional issue, as well, but the Tenant would not allow us in, so I see nothing further we could have done to satisfy this Customer, and yet still he complained. If you have any other questions, or if I can be of any further assistance in helping clear our good Name and get this issue resolved with the Revdex.com, I will be more than happy to do so!

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am not in agreement with the Owner’s response. I spoke with a woman who I assume was the receptionist at Jordan Mechanical on at least 5 occasions. I asked to speak with the owner, but I was not allowed to speak with him. I was told he would call me back, but he never did. The plumber originally went out in the evening around 6 p.m. and put a new wax seal on a toilet that was not leaking. The toilet was not leaking so that repair was not required. The leak was in a utility closet behind the bathroom where the toilet was located so the water actually leaked onto the bathroom floor. That may be why the plumber thought the toilet was leaking – not sure. The plumber originally went in the evening and said there was still a leak so he said he would have to come back the next morning. I don’t blame the plumber as I am sure there may not have been enough light to see everything. The plumber was a very nice person and easy to work with so I am not complaining about his service. I assume I was charged for 2 service calls when all repairs should have been fixed during the first service call. I was originally charged $280. There was one charge on the bill (i.e. it was not broken down into what comprised the $280 so I had no idea what the charges were for). I do not find this type of invoice to be acceptable – you should see a breakdown of what you are being charged for. I was given $40 off the original bill so that was $240 for a repair that was not required while the actual leak was not fixed. Jordan Mechanical’s plumber told me that I would have to dig up the concrete to the outside of the house in order to repair the leak in the utility closet. He said this would be over $1,000 to repair. Nothing had to be dug up. A small section had to be replaced in the pipe in the utility closet. This cost us $140 by the plumber who repaired the actual leak. The receptionist and the plumber were polite and respectful so there is no complaint with them.A quality job would be to actually fix the real leak and do it on the first trip. I am fairly certain there was no monetary loss on this job. I believe a wax seal cost $15 at the hardware store – and that wax seal was not required for this job as the toilet was not leaking. It would have been nice to actually speak to the owner about this issue. I don’t believe it is a fair price to be charged for something that didn’t need to be fixed. I was okay with paying for 1 service call but that is not what I was charged for. What was the breakdown for the bill? – not sure. I am not satisfied with the service we received from Jordan Mechanical. We were still charged too much for a job that was not completed. A simple conversation with the owner may have resolved our issue but he would not return our calls.

Regards

Service provider issued an estimate for a service. When I scheduled the service, I was told there was a lot more work that was involved and it would cost more money. It ended up costing about $1300 more than the initial estimate. I have asked the business to admit the first estimate was a mistake and they will not.

I am so sorry for the way the previous owner left your home electrically sabotaged, costing you so much time and trouble. But the Estimate we gave you initially for the $640.00 to replace the 3 Outlets you requested us to quote, was not an incorrect quote. It was the quote you requested to replace the 3 Outlets only, and had we replaced the 3 Outlets ONLY, it would have been invoiced to you as $640.00; however, after our Electrician spoke with Mr. Jordan, the Owner of the Company, regarding the electrical condition of your home, as Electrical Professionals, Mr. Jordan and our Electric¡an agreed that we could not in good conscious repair ONLY those 3 Outlets, take your $640.00, and leave your house electrically UNSAFE! So at that, I phoned you and explained that the only way we could perform electrical work at your home would be if you would allow us to repair your entire home ELECTRICALLY, and leave it safe, electrically sound, and up to code. I also clearly stated that if we performed this COMPLETE Electrical job on your home, that there was no possible way I could give you a quote, as we had been able to do on the 3 Outlets, because we d¡d not know what we may run into, since the house had been so electrically sabotaged, and we had no idea how much Time or Material would be necessary to perform the job to COMPLETION, and that the only thing we could do would be to perform the job PER TIME AND MATERIALS ONLY, that no quote could be given, that we would just bill you time and materials upon completion of job, to which you agreed, and to which we sent our Electricians and Technicians to your home and successfully completed the job in a fair and timely fashion, leavingeverything in your home electrically safe and operational, which is our Professional Ethic. I then calculated the Invoice by the Technicians time on the job and the Materials used to complete the job, and sent you a Final Invoice listing the breakdown of the number of Technicians, number of hours spent on the job, with the rate per hour listed for the Total Labor Cost, as well as listing the Total Materials Cost of materials used on job, equaling the Total Invoice amount billed to You, as per our agreement. Further, Mr. Jordan typically requires payment in full at t¡me of completion of any job; however, he allowed me to offer a payment arrangement to you, which I offered as follows: Pay $995.00 first installment, and then the Balance of $1,000.00 in 2 installments of $500.00, to which you replied you would pay $640.00 first installment, and the remaining balance of $1,355.00, in 2 $500.00 installments, with the Final installment being the Balance of $355.00, to which I agreed. So, I have represented everything to you honestly and fairly from the beginning, and have made except¡on to work with you on payments, and our Staff has been friendly, hard working, and forthright, so I truly do not know what you wish us to apologize for, and what your valid complaint is. Notwithstanding, I will apologize for anything we have done that you were not happy with!! That was never our intent¡on at all. Our intention was to provide excellent Electrical services, at a fair price, and to leave your home Electrically Safe, and operational. I believe in good conscious that we have done so. And again, I was surprised at how reasonable the final invoice was, as I expected it to be a lot more expensive, considering the extent ofthe initial damage left by the previous Owner. Yet, please feel free to contact us at , if you have any question¡ at all! Thanks again for your business! We appreciate it VERY MUCH!Sincerely,***Office Manager

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The issue is with Jordan Mechanical stating that I requested 3 outlets to be fixed. I requested them to come to my home and diagnose why we didn't have electric in half of the house. 3 rooms total were affected with multiple outlets. The first technician came out and did his diagnosis. Jordan Mech sent an estimate stating that the cost to repair 3 outlets would be $600 ish. Apparently, there was more work than the 3 outlets. I never simply requested 3 outlets be fixed. When I called to schedule the appointment, another technician came out and said that the first estimate seemed oversimplified and he went back to the office. I called Jordan Mech to schedule the repair and was told they would not do the work as first estimated unless they were allowed to do the additional work as they were not comfortable. This is my issue. Yes, I agreed to them coming back out and doing the work, HOWEVER, I was not expecting the work to be done for $1300 MORE than the initial estimate. What I am saying is, the initial estimate was incorrect apparently. It seems very poor that you submit one estimate to me and then take it back and the work come out to be more than $1300 more than the initial estimate. Seems awkward to me. We also agreed that you would keep me updated on the work and that if it seemed as if it would take a lot of time and money, I would be contacted. I was not contacted until I called to find out what was going on. I am sure Jordan Mech can see that they made the initial estimate and that a $1300 difference is a big difference. This has NOTHING to do with the state of electric in my home. We know it has issues. This has everything to do with Jordan Mech issuing an estimate, taking it back, then charging us $1300 more! I was not the one who requested specifically 3 outlets. Jordan Mech's technician made that diagnosis and that was what I was initially quoted on. This is what I want them to acknowledge instead of trying to put it on me and my electric being sabotaged. The error was in THEIR office. This is what needs to be acknowledged.

Jordan Mechanical was hired to move our existing HVAC unit from inside our restaurant to outside in order for it to cool properly. Numerous problems arose after their initial repair job, including walk in fridge and freezer shorting out numerous times, causing a loss of food, AC unit ceasing to work, even though it worked before this company touched. The HVAC unit was attached to the outside of the restaurant in an unsafe manner that was deemed not up to code by another company. We we're forced to hire another company to come in and repair everything that Jordan did, doubling the cost of this repair job. Payment for the jobs was demanded, by the owner, every day that they were here working, and at one point the owner even threatened to remove the freon from the unit if payment was not made immediately, even though the job was far from finished. They returned many times over the course of 8 days, and still did not remember the situation at all.

We are sorry that Mr. And Mrs. has was having problems with their freezer and walk in cooler. Our technician arrived to look at the job of relocating the condenser units and found that the systems were about 10 years old and the compressors were overheating and cutting out on high temperature. It was extremely hot in the ceiling where they were located at that time.We did have to do additional work that was not on the original estimate such as replacing the freon in both units due to high acid in both. The acid in the freon normally comes from the age of the compressor and the compressor overheating for so long. This would hopefully buy some time before having to replace them. The freezer compressor also had to have a hard start installed, this normally comes from age and or overheating of the compressor. The condenser coils were also very dirty and needed cleaning. The condenser coils had to be chemically cleaned 3 times to get them clean and get the head pressure down. The condenser fan motor bearings on the cooler seized up and had to be replaced also. This was the original motor, and this happens with age. Again, we are sorry that *** had any issues with the systems at all and the expense that comes with this type of equipment, however the systems are old and had been overheating for some time, and we did everything we could to extend the life of the old systems. We did explain to Mr. and Mrs. the additional work and cost to do the maintenance and repair of the systems before proceeding. We sincerely hope they will have good luck with the systems going forward. Sincerely, Craig Jordan
