Jordon Roofing & Remodeling Reviews (%countItem)

On or about 5/30/18 Bruce Jordon, of Jordon Roofing & Remodeling, removed old shingles, etc., repaired sub roof, and replaced shingles on my home. Thereafter the roof has leaked on several occassions in more than one location, which resultedf in water damage to the interior of my home. One of the locations which leaked after repair did not leak prior to the work which Jordon performed.
Product_Or_Service: roof repair/shingle replacement

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I expect that a replaced roof/shingles should not leak.

We completed the new roof on Mr. Home on May 30, 2018 . He called me the following fall with a leak around his chimney. I stopped over I did not actually see the leak but I resealed around his chimney as it was not leaking at that time.
I've never heard anything further from him until March 12, 2019. I believe he had returned from out of state for the winter and found leaks on the back portion of his home. Northern Michigan had a very bad winter with a lot of extra snow this winter. He called me and I went the very next day to address the situation, he had approximately 8 to 10 inches of ice and Snow backing up on the back of his roof along the eaves, we were getting melt off from the warm weather and it was not allowing the water to run off of of this portion of hone, He had existing heat cables that were not plugged in and operating to help elimination this pre-existing problem, I reinstalled his heat cables , shoveled all the ice and snow off that portion of his roof . On March 19 I received a letter with a picture of an area with another leak in between his utility room and his garage . I went over the very next day on March 20 and remove the ice and snow off of this portion of his roof , I also have pictures of all the ice and snow buildup ,I explained to him that the leaks were due to the ice and snow buildup , he thought I should be responsible for the leakage as it was a new roof on his home . The leakage caused no interior damage to the ceiling's as the utility room has no ceiling covering other than insulation board .he was concerned with the leaking and wanted me to take a look at it when the weather got better . He left a message at my office on April 29 and 30th .This was on Monday and Tuesday I was leaving out of state for a funeralon Wednesday. I returned his call and at that time he said it wasn't leaking I told him to give me a call when it was leaking so I can look the situation over. I left town Wednesday morning to head down to Indiana from Michigan. he called me a couple hours into my trip and said it was leaking. I told him to take some photographs of the leak and I wouldI contact him when I returned to Michigan the following week . on Thursday, March 9 I talk to him after it had been raining over 12 hours at that time he said it was leaking I went right over to his home that morning to assess the situation. Even though I've been raining for 12 hours he had maybe an ounce of water in the bucket sitting under it. The chimney pipe wasn't dripping at the time I was there and I ask him how often it dripped, he said about once every minute. I explained that the water stains I could see were actually coming from around the insulated pipe going through the attic up through the flashing on the roof and possibly was coming around the top of the flashing where the pipe came through. I also told him with such a minor amount of water it could be something as minor as condensation from the chimney pipe heating up just like when windows get moisture on them in the winter time. I also thought the way he was calling he was having a severe leak, this was not the case . I told him I would stop over on my first available day and get up and look at the pipe and see if the rain collar round the top of it or The actual chimney cap was letting a little bit of water In . I think his main concern was he thought his warranty was going To expire , I explained that if he had an issue after his warranty Expired I was happy to come over and address the problem . (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Mr. Jordon's response is, for the most part, accurate in a "timeline" sense. However, it does not address the essence of my original complaint, which is that I paid him to replace a roof which he knew was leaking with a roof that would not leak. Not only does it continue to leak in the area where it leaked prior to his work, it now leaks in an area that never leaked prior to his work. That is what is not acceptable.
The leakage did cause damage to the interior of my home. Mr. Jordon has seen and photographed those areas of damage.
Simply stated, I paid for a roof that would not leak, regardless of weather conditions. Mr. Jordon agreed to provide that "product", accepted payment in full, but has not provided a roof which does not leak.

I followed up with his original complaint, it hasn't leaked where the ice build up Was this past winter, again I went over and looked at the leak he is talking about, it was By his own statement one drip approximately every minute, around the chimney pipe going through the roof , When I went there it wasn't dripping ,he had a bucket under it that had virtually no water in it, again it had been raining for over 12 hours I told him to take pictures of it actually dripping, around the pipe going through the ceiling, He didn't have any pictures of it dripping, I took pictures , there was a stain running down the pipe, I explained to him if the roof was leaking it wouldn't be leaking right down the pipe, there is a flashing extending around the pipe , it would be dripping farther away from the pipe. . As far as the second leak he's talking about again , that was this winter when he had an excess amount of ice and snow on the roof, it hasn't leaked since, and I told him that if he's out of state this winter to plug in his heat cables that he has, that will help dissipate the ice and snow .Since he won't acknowledge that ice build up causes water infiltration into the home, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree . I explain to him if he has any issues to give me a call , but he has to work with me a little bit. Bruce Jordon

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I will not accept his proposed resolution, i.e., "we'll have to agree to disagree". The old roofing that he removed did not leak during it's 20+ year lifetime, during which "an excess amount of ice and snow" occurred on many occasions.
As far as his proposal to "work with me a little bit" is concerned, he was last here to inspect his faulty work on 5/9/19,stating at that time that he would return the following morning to make repairs. To my knowledge he has not done so.
