Review: We had an addition put on our home in Hyannis, MA. The project was completed in May of 2012, In late fall we had no heat in the living room, although we had heat in the rest of the house. We called the contractor, and he came out, he could not fix it, the following week he send the plumber. The plumber fixed the problem and proceeded to charge us 375.00. We called the contractor and he said some sort of reinbursment was due. It has been 3 months now and he keeps giving me excuses. We want full reinbursment, because we had a ONE year guarantee. the heat was tampered with with the scope of work that he did. We have been patient enough . I would appreciate some feedback from your organization. Thank you. We got a complaint of no heat and immediately met with you Prior to meeting you I spoke with the Plumbing contractor and the Electrical contractor about the no heat problem You and I together could not figure out why there was no heat in the new portion of the house, this after you spent time bleeding the system to get air out The following week when you scheduled us in at your convenience, on a Saturday, I was not notified of the meeting and the plumber showed up to try and resolve the no heat situation What the plumber found was 1) the circulator was defective, this after he attempted to manualìy trigger it with the over ride built in. 2) The wiring to the unit was not hooked up at which time he jumped the electrical connection to trigger a response which worked 3) The system needed to be anti freeze which we were never made aware of even prior to commencing the original work, usually when a system is anti freeze the plumbing contractor who performs this puts a tag on the heating system with a date because as I am told, the anti freeze looses it’ s properties. A defective circulator does not come under a warranty for the work that was done, We did not install it, nor did We tamper with it. Anti freeze in the heating system is a maintenance item, when you bleed a system or Work on a system it needs replacing, in which case you would have been made aware of it if we had known it was in the system, which We didn’t, because the boiler was not tagged as having anti freeze ner the date it was installed. Anti freeze is not a Warranty issue The situation Where a Wire was not connected is not negligence but rather something that was overlooked and we take responsibiìity for that and include a check for 1/2 hour of the plumbers time, $35.00, to reconnect as reimbursement. In the time I had “not gotten back to you” We had spoken about the bill from the plumber. I spoke with the plumber and then with the electrician to see if there was any responsibility. The electrician spoke with the plumber and again With me, somewhere in the process the thermostat line was run but not connected and this mistake I can apologize for, and as you well know we responded in a very timely manner to resolve all this. Again, a faulty zone Valve that We did not install is not a Warranty item under our contract and if We were aware of anti freeze in the system we would of charged you for it but then again you're bleeding the system and the replacing of the Zone valve would necessitate replacing anti freeze in the system and not a Warranty item. In addition, while all this was going on the last few months with conversations going back and forth, the other reason I was delinquent in responding to your calls is that when I told you I was in Colorado, I was NOT skiing, it was family and since then my step dad passed away early this month and I had several occasions to fly out prior too and after. I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint.

The problem is that I had no heat, I paid him to alter the heat, result was that I ended up with no heat....If that seems fair, that the consumer pays twice for the same job?.. I throw it up as part of doing business with the wrong person.
