Dear Mr. [redacted],
In resolving this matter I have repeatedly tried to call you at [redacted] and no one has answered. There is no voicemail or answering machine. I had no way of getting in touch with you until...

you sent a copy of your letter to the Revdex.com with your address on the return envelope.
I would have readily resolved this matter over the phone by crediting your charge card for $5.00. I am sending a $5.00 check to the address on the envelope and a copy of this letter
to the Revdex.com.
I also suggest you get some type of answering machine for your phone so you can know
if someone is trying to reach you.

We have received a response from Jose's Restaurant together with a check for $5.00 that requires a response.

First, Joses neither gives an explanation for the false addition of $5.00 to our credit card charge, nor do they seem in any way apologetic for the addition.
Second, and more importantly, they falsely states that they "repeatedly tried to call" us. I am retired and at home 24/7, except for several hours three times per week when I take a walk for exercise. I never received any of their "repeated" calls, so I dispute this statement.
Finally, and most important, they state that we don't have an answering machine. We have had an answering machine for more than 30 years, and encourage the Revdex.com to call our number to test our answering machine to prove the falseness of Jose's charge.
We enjoy Mexican food and have patronized Jose's restaurant more than 300 times over the past 30 or so years, so we feel insulted by the tone of their response and false statements.
Therefore we are returning their check, and are very disappointed by this whole experience.

Aloha:
We have received a second response from Jose's Restaurant attempting to deny the facts that I stated earlier. I shall reiterate what I know to be true, but do not want to waste any more time on this unfortunate experience so this will be my final response.
Mr. [redacted] continues to avoid explaining how or why the false charge of $5.00 was added to our credit card, nor does he express any remorse for the action.
Mr. [redacted] continues to say that he "repeatedly tried to call" us. As I stated in my first response, I am retired and at home 24/7, except for several hours three times per week when I walk for exercise. I never received any of Mr. [redacted]' "repeated" calls although I answer phone calls several times every day, therefore I dispute his claim.
Mr. [redacted] has stated that we don't have an answering machine, which is patently untrue. We have had an answering machine for more than 30 years, and again encourage the Revdex.com to call the number below to test our answering machine to prove the falseness of Mr. [redacted] charge. In addition we occasionally find messages on the machine that have come in while I was out walking, or on the rare occasion we go out to dinner. Mr. [redacted] is the only person who claims that he can't leave a message, so I don't know why others can leave messages and he can't.
Because we have been loyal patrons of Jose's restaurant more than 300 times over the past 30 or so years, and if Mr. [redacted] is the owner, we have chatted with him, and his sisters who used to work there, who I believe have died. Therefore, we feel particularly insulted by the tone of his response, his false statements, and his lack of remorse or a credible explanation for the false charge. We are very disappointed by this whole experience and will not waste any more time discussing it.

Dear Revdex.com,
After I received a contact address I immediately sent a refund check for the amount $5.00 that Mr. Reed was overcharged. I am honest when I say I tried to call the customer's phone number with no response and no answering machine to leave a message on. Jose's prides itself on quick response to resolve any matter a customer may have.
I regret that this happened to this customer and as soon as I had a way to reach him, I did so. All of our customers are very important to Jose's. Jose's apologizes for any inconvenience that the customer may have encountered and hope to find a remedy to this situation.
