Roof leaking after shingles replaced in 2011. Installer has been back numerous times and roof is still leaking. Damage is occurring.Total shingle and vent replacement and eavestrough replacement 11/2/2011. Invoice [redacted] - 8177.26 by cheque. WE had been double billed for leafgaurd and were reimbursed 89.25. Total was 8088.01. Had called several times for warranty - Returned to correct non-venting fan stack 3002. Returned to correct water leaking into kitchen 3002. Returned to correct water leaking bath fan 3002. Returned to correct water leaking bath fan 3004. Returned to correct eavestrough leaking at rear of house. Returned to correct leak into kitchen 3002. Returned to inspect fan stack for bath of 3004. Returned to correct improper/damaged shingles in 18 areas of roof. [redacted] stated he would re-shingle front in spring. Water still leaking each time weather warms and further damage is occurring inside walls and attic space and probably to roof sheeting. This has been an ongoing problem for OVER 2 YEARS now. [redacted]Desired SettlementWe would like to be refunded the sum paid less the eavestrough replacement so we can have the roof repaired and shingles replaced. -total- 7042.01Business Response [redacted]To whom it may concern:[redacted]The water leaks that occure when its minus 30 out side in a bathroom fan is the problem of snow build up as it is a flat roof.And as Mr [redacted] stated in his report above, I did tell him I would come and replace the front of the roof again, the only cost to him would be the membrane that was going to be installed. [redacted]Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)#1: This is not a flat roof. Pitch is 3-12. Same pitch as before the shingles were replaced and the roof did not leak then. [redacted]#2: [redacted] It was discussed with him last year about the multiple on-going problems with the install[redacted]#3: Sent foreman to inspect attic @ 3004 to check for leaks in back bedroom and bath fan. We were told it was normal to see daylight and have the stack end before it exited roof. Leaves and seeds etc are visible around stack base. This was not at 30 below. Leaking summer and winter. [redacted] was once again asked to come inspect roof last October, leaking bath fan concern explained to him again. Improper vent with no connection to fan stack discussed. [redacted] said vent would be replaced with proper one. This did not occur. Recent warmer weather causing water to run down stack again. This vent is causing an ice dam on the roof.#4: If membrane was required why was it not installed before shingling done?#5: Requested any sheeting that needed to be replaced to go ahead and we would pay extra - this was not done and crew had to return to replace north west corner.#6: All vents were not replaced as requested.#7: We were told he "had never had so much trouble with a roof before"#8: We were told he would return to re-do north side of roof. This would correct the leaking in 3002 kitchen but this will not correct leaking @ 3004 as the problem is on the south side of roof.#9: No date was given as to when this re-roof would occur.#10: Over 18 concerns were addressed by changing out shingles and securing vent skirts.[redacted]We were more than happy to pay extra for anything that needed to be done at time of shingle job. Also would have gladly payed for the membrane on the re-roof. This was a fair offer by the contractor and was accepted. Further leaks and no date as to when this would occur made the frustration level rise.
