The following letter is our response to a complaint we received in the mail from [redacted] ***The Revdex.com Complaint ID is [redacted] We would like to start off by saying we have no prejudice against any particular religion, ethnicity, race, etcWe have been in business for nearly years and take pride in the diversity of the people we have had as tenants over the yearsOn the day that Willard and [redacted] moved into our property, Westview North Apartments, they yelled at our office personnel and accused them and our company as a whole of being extortionistsThis happened when we informed them of the amount of their prorated rent that would be due on the first of the following monthFollowing this, we continued to receive religious flyers, pamphlets, etc in our rent drop, on the mirror of the bathroom in our office and so forthWe also received emails and phone calls continuouslyWe received work orders in their first two weeks in the apartmentThey were insisting they needed a new fridge along with several other complaintsThe fridge was in working order but did not look as new as they wantedWe did replace the fridge in an effort to calm them dawn and stop the complaintsAnother one of their mails claimed that the laundry card machine on the property stole his money and he was demanding a refundAfter reviewing his demanding email, we explained to him that the machine functioned as it should, since it costs $to buy a cardTherefore, it did not steal any money and no refund would be issuedAbout two months after they moved in, [redacted] called our office insisting she needed to speak with the President of our company or god would reign down on him and blood would pour from our eyesWe said she could speak with management but the president was not availableShe ended up coming up to our office screaming and shouting and saying that her father is more powerful than ours and that we should watch out because we have no idea what he is capable ofWe asked her to leave the office and called the policeThis happened multiple times and the police officers even went as far as to ask us how we rented to these individuals, considering their erratic behaviors did not seem to warrant someone that should be approved to move into the complexOne evening, [redacted] was loitering outside our office after we had closedShe was cornering each of our employees as they left and asked each of them if they were Joe, the presidentShe had two case workers with her who ended up calling the policeFor about an hour, she was surrounded by officers and was put in an ambulance but was allowed to return home after this interactionDuring one of these occurrences, an officer also suggested we send them a day letter offering to let them out of their lease, which we did do, We never heard from them about this noticeAround this time, we were informed by her husband that she had been admitted to the hospital due to a nervous breakdown, as she had recently lost her job and was stressed out with everything going on in her lifeShe did seem calmer the few times we saw her after this and she informed us that her husband ended up losing his job and they were going to have a hard time paying the rent againShe said they were trying to find a way to get the money so they could make the paymentWe were once again informed she had been admitted to the hospital a second time after this occurredWillard also said she ruined his phone and broke some other things when she had her breakdown this timeHe did come in to try to make the payment to cancel the eviction we had filedManagement discussed how to handle this situation and decided to explain the situation to him and say that we will accept the money but we need them to stop causing a scene and disturbing the neighborsWe had received complaints from neighbors about them being loud and telling everyone about their personal business which made them uncomfortableWe? were also told they were knocking on neighbor's doors asking to use their phone and not leaving when they were asked toWhen this was mentioned to Willard, he denied all of it and said we were just reachingHe also gave us a list of maintenance issues he wanted taken care ofWe were already aware of these issues and maintenance had gone to the apartment multiple times over the previous month and each time was turned away by either [redacted] or Willard for various reasons and was asked to come back another timeWe told him that we planned on accepting the payment but it was becoming clear to us that the issues would only continue and we thought it would be best if we did not accept his money and had the situation handled in court insteadWe did go to court and got the Writ from the court asking them to vacate by March 5th, On March 6th, maintenance went to the apartment and changed the locks, which is what we are instructed by the bailiff to do if the tenant is not present the day after the writ issuesAround 2:30pm on the 6th, we received a phone call from [redacted] threatening that we cannot lock her away from her belongings and we need to send someone over to let her into her apartment immediatelyShe ended up calling the police but maintenance had already gone over within minutes of her phone call to our officeOur maintenance manager told them we would be willing to let them into the apartment during office hours onlyWhen the police arrived, they reiterated to the ***? that we have no legal obligation to let them into the apartment since they were supposed to be out the day priorThe officer informed them that they need to leave at 5:00pm when maintenance comes back to lock the apartment, since they no longer have a legal right to the apartment.? We are not trying to claim that the property has no other issuesWe do know there is a domestic violence situation in a neighboring apartment and due to the current HUD laws, we are not supposed to make a victim out of a victimWe are doing our best to handle that situation but our hands are tied to a certain extentAs for the marijuana, with legalization becoming more of a norm throughout the country, regulation is getting much harderWe have sent notices to the building, spoken with the local police, and we have also sent day notices to the tenants we believe are responsibleAccording to other tenants in the building, they have not been noticing it recently, so our notices seem to be workingWe are doing everything we can to make this property a place everyone is proud to call homePart of this resolution included the conclusion of the [redacted] tenancy with usWe have already received thank you's from neighbors of theirs for doing soWe would also like to mention that Nina's daughter lives in the other part of our complex and has for nearly yearsAt one point, she called and said that she does not want to be associated with her mother's actions and apologizedShe was also present when the [redacted] were let into their apartment on March 6th [redacted] and Nina's other daughter continued to make remarks and deny handing over keys and so forth and the daughter that lives here kept asking them to calm down and said the maintenance manager is just trying to help you.? We have included police reports from and about the [redacted] as well as our Eviction writ from the courtAlso included is the picture of a mattress seen in their apartment when the locks were changed with a message written in what appears to be bloodThe other pictures are from the inspection done after the [redacted] were allowed back in the apartment to remove the rest of their belongingsIn one of the pictures, you can see that they also made a bayonet out of a curtain rod, butter knife and pipe clampWe also enclosed a copy of one of the booklets they left in our rent dropHopefully this paints a clear enough picture about the situation but we would be more than happy to answer any other questions you have? or usWe feel very strongly that we do not owe them anythingThey actually owe usThat amount has not been officially determined, since the final inspection is not doneWe already know we have seen evidence of them having a cat in their apartment that they never paid the pet fee to have, signed a form saying they didn't have, and never informed our office differentlyThey also owe a rent balance.? Thank you,? ? [redacted] ***, [redacted] ***? Westview North Apartments? ?
