of delivery was 5/27/14.J. P. Goetz will not take responsibility for any damage done to the transfer Case on stated vehicle. One tire was replaced on this vehicle following the accident as per the insurance estimate. The tread depth of the damaged tire was at 8/32, as noted by the insurance company on their estimate. The new tire tread depth is 13/32, which means the 8/32 tire had a 75% life remaining. With that said, that is not enough wear to justify replacing any other tires. The insurance company documented the tread depth, not J. P. Goetz. The vehicle was repaired according to the insurance company estimate. Furthermore, if this was the case, every AWD vehicle would require replacing all four tires every time one is in an accident, which is certainly not the case. If liability should fall anywhere, it should be with the insurance company or manufacturer of the vehicle. The vehicle was involved in an accident. Perhaps the transfer case was damaged from the loss and not as a result of tire tread depth, or just a manufacturer issue?? Perhaps it was not properly maintained? There is no way to pinpoint the cause for the failure of the transfer case. I spoke to the customer prior to this complaint saying it is possible the tire could cause such a problem if the tread depth is much different. In this case it is gigarly not. These are all things which need to be considered before fingers are pointed in any one certain direction, of all the parties listed, J. P. Goetz is the least liable for this problem that occurred to this Ford Edge six months post accident! There are too many "what ifs" to point fingers.
