JP Heating & Air Conditioning

July 2019, *** of JP Heating & Air Conditioning installed an AC unit system and ventilation in our attic. Shortly after installation we had to call him back due to water dripping from our ceiling - in which he went ahead and installed a pump to help with the overflow from the system. Fast forward to this summer, July 2020, our AC stopped working. We attempted to contact *** through the phone number on his business page, left a voicemail and never heard back. We ended up calling another local company for assistance due to a severe heat advisory. The other company came out and stated that our air filter location was in an odd spot near the main unit in our attic which is also extremely difficult to get to, and then also advised we had a leak in our system and had to top off our refrigerant and added a UV dye to find the lead. Fast forward a couple more days, our AC stopped working again and we called the other local company again. The leak was located and found to be a large hole in the pipe leading from our outside air handler to the unit in the attic - the other company stated the leak was where the wrong type of solder was utilized by ***. They then went into the attic and found that the AC wasn't properly being drained (which is why we had water shortly after install) and that the pump that was installed was placed in a very dangerous location in our attic - directly on the drywall along with the the collection pans. We were advised that if the pump failed for any reason it would caved in our ceiling with water damage. We are now essentially having to have this other company redo the work that was initially done by *** on a brand new system.
