Review: I had the company move me on Saturday June 27th. The attitude of one of the movers, Collin was arrogant and all about him not caring about what he was doing. He made a point to tell me that he doesn't work for the company, and doesn't really care, but was pulled in that day because they were short handed. I asked them to ask me where they were moving items and they did not. They put items into my storage area that were not supposed to go in, and piled heavy boxes on top of a brand new accent table putting that table face down on the concrete floor. It got damaged as a result. In addition, to remove the items that weren't supposed to be in there it took them more time which they charged me for. They also tore ends of my sofa in the move. When I asked them how this would be resolved they said there was nothing they could do about the damaged items, but the office would call me first thing on Monday morning to resolve it. The office never called, and its two weeks later now. I called and left them a voicemail, and still no response back. I'm frustrated and unhappy about the situation.Desired Settlement: There is not a way to repair the damaged items. The table was a one of a kind and is not replaceable. I want a refund of some of the money I paid for the move.

Response:

We apologize that Ms. [redacted]'s move did not go as she or [redacted] expected. The Move Manager contacted Ms. [redacted] on July 9 and agreed to reimburse her $194 ($104 for the damaged accent table and $90 for the complaints). Her credit card was credited on July 13. We sent a damage report for the damaged sofa to our vendor. The vendor will call and schedule a time to look at the sofa. The Move Manager called and left a message for Ms. [redacted] of the action taken.

Review: I had two men and a truck move my belongings from a home to a storage area in [redacted] on January 26, 2013 - I had no furniture other than a washer and dryer, it was mostly boxes and a big screen TV still in it's box. In 4 or 5 of those boxes I had 4 140oz bottles of Tide laundry detergent in each one. As the men were finishing up with the move I told them there were the boxes of detergent in the basement that they also needed to get. I told them what the boxes contained and apologized to them that they were so heavy. I had them sitting side by side each other when I had them in my basement and when the guy moving the boxes came up from the basement he had them on a dolly on top of each other and was sweating profusely and commenting on how heavy the boxes were and I again apologized to him. I had rented a climate controlled 10 by 10 storage unit about three blocks away and when we arrived at the storage unit all I did was jump out of the car open the unit and got back in my car because it was January and very cold outside. After about 40 minutes the storage unit was full I paid them and we went our separate ways. I left Wisconsin immediately for a job in ** and just returned to Wisconsin on October 24th, I stopped at the storage unit to pick up my winter clothes and was shocked to see that everything sitting on the floor of the unit was soaking in about two inches of tide detergent. I can not see what exactly happened but I am assuming the movers inappropriately placed the boxes on top of each other instead of side by side and the weight caused the bottom boxes to collapse and smash the bottles open. The detergent hadn't gotten outside the unit because of the rubber strip on the bottom of the storage door so no one noticed what had happened. After seeing this I immediately called two men and a truck sobbing hysterically and was told the manager was out and would be back in an hour. After an hour passing I called back again and this time he was on the phone so I left another message for him, waited another hour called back and they wouldn't answer and this was in the middle of the day during business hours. I then called the corporate office in MI and they had to threaten him and force him to call me. She said she gave him until 3:30 to call so he called at exactly 3:30, this all started at 11:00 am and it took this man until 3:30 to call me back with a threat from the corporate office. When he finally called me I explained what was going on and all he did was grunt about 5 times and asked me what I wanted him to do about it. He said it was both of our faults and he didn't have the manpower to get to it that weekend (10/26/2013) so I said ok lets meet there on November 9th around 10:00 am and he said he would try to be there and it would be just him and all he was going to do was move the stuff so I could wipe it down. I live 2 1/2 hours away so having someone tell me he would try and be there is crazy and it is going to take a little more than just wiping it down. I calmly explained to him that was completely insane to expect me to drive over 150 to maybe have someone show up. I also told him I was 51 years old with many health issues and I have no family and that I physically could not do anything like that and it was insane to think all it was going to take was to wipe things down. It would take a 1000 towels 3 men and a power washer, and re boxing all the boxes on the floor to clean that mess up. At that point I threatened him with calling my attorney and hung up. I then called the corporate office back to see what they can do and she isn't doing anything but holding me off by saying she's trying meanwhile my belongings are soaking in 2 inches of tide detergent. Everything in that unit was less that 3 months old - I had just lost everything I owned and was starting over. I also found out they had called the storage unit company inquiring about what they knew about it and told the lady there I was a tide hoarder like I was crazy, I bought them because I got a really good price on them and that has nothing to do with what was going on. It has now been 7 days and after talking to corporate again today this going absolutely nowhere and they are just buying time hoping I will go away and plan on doing nothing about this. The guy that moved those boxes should have known not to place them on top of each other, this is what he does for a living.Desired Settlement: I want them to meet me at the unit move all the undamaged things into a moving truck that I will rent and then clean up my belongings like hosing off the detergent from my washer and dryer and re-boxing the boxes that are soaking it the detergent and if anything is damaged I want them to pay for it.

Response:

We moved 2 appliances and boxes into storage for Ms. [redacted] on January 26, 2013. A “Release of Liability” that Ms. [redacted] signed stating the following is attached:

Review: My husband and I moved in May of this year. We used Two Men & A Truck. Their employees damaged several pieces of furniture most have been repaired except for our dining room table (they took the top of it from us several weeks ago to repair), TV stand (they took a door and hinges off of it over a month ago), our mattress has also been torn (we were told that they would give us the money so we could replace our mattress set with another one). Phone calls do not get responded to, emails do not get responded to - it is only after calling the corporate offices that we receive a response. The responses are never satisfactory - it's like they are dragging out the resolution to this.Desired Settlement: We want our dining table back (and to assure the top matches the rest of the table).

We want our door back for our tv stand (and also assure that the hinge for the door works as it did prior to the move).

We want a check for the mattress/box spring for what we paid in full so we can purchase another one - they can pick up the old one after the new one arrives.

We would also like the company to give us a refund of some of the money we paid as a gesture of good faith since it has been three months since we moved and it is their fault that repairs/replacement of our items has not been made.

Response:

The customer's table top and entertainment center door were returned last Friday. A check for the mattress was given to the customer at the same time. The customer noticed a smudge on the table, and the hinge to the entertainment center door was not working properly. Our vendor has been contacted to go to the customer's home and work on the door and table smudge. When the customer calls that she has purchased a new mattress/spring set, we will go pick up the old set.
