JPMorgan Chase Credit Card Reviews (4971)

Review: I write to file a complaint against Chase card member services. This pertains to my credit card account number ending in [redacted] The complaint concerns three issues relating to a dispute.First, Chases ultimate determination to deny the dispute was unfair. Second, the Chase credit card web site appears to have removed the details of my complaint from its disputes page. Finally, and most importantly, in denying and closing my complaint, Chase unilaterally decided to report the outcome of the dispute to all three credit bureaus.[redacted]For the full details of this complaint, see the narrative in the attachment.[redacted]Desired Settlement: 1) Dispute this action with the merchant. Require the business owner to account for the service failure and to explain the conduct of the employee. Do not pay for the charge until the merchant does this.2) Immediately retract all references to this disputed transaction with the credit bureaus.3) Issue 10,000 Ultimate Rewards Points as compensation for the amount of time and effort that I have had to spend in order to prompt Chase to meet its contractual obligation to dispute this charge.

Review: I deposited $400.00 into a chase atm at 8:23 am and my deposit was taken. I received an atm printout with an error message stating there was an error and to contact the claims department. I contacted the number provided on the atm receipt, filed a complaint with the bank and now after a month the bank states they only recovered $64.00. Supposedly they sent someone to service the machine and they stated that $64.00 was the last cash deposit made. I had to wait for the bank to open to speak with the branch manager, so I left and returned after 9:00 am. I sat down with the manager and completed another claim for the transaction. He assured me that they would take care of it. I even provided the atm receipt that I received at the time of my deposit. After several calls to Chase they stated they will be deducted the credit out of my account on 11/27/13. This bank is stealing money from hardworking people and the only explanation for the missing atm is that I did not make a deposit. They have atm video footage, as well as footage of me entering the lobby, making the deposit, and also placing my card and entering the deposit amount.I requested a copy of all this information and the rep stated I have to have a subpoena because of a confidentially policy.I am now in the negative of $336.00Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I would like a full investigation for the atm transaction and to be compensated for emotional as well as financial stress.

Review: On September 3, 2013 JPMorgan Chase (the "Company") has decided to end the banking relationship citing a non-substantiated compliance decision, although the Company has refused to provide any details whatsoever. Shortly thereafter all my personal credit cards issued by the Company, followed by a business credit card, have been cancelled. The credit cards have accumulated approx. $350 in rewards (Ultimate Rewards) by the time of cancellation by the Company, although the Company's policy found on its site regarding Ultimate Rewards provided it with an option, and not the obligation, to forfeit the rewards. The use of Chase's cards was mostly driven by the rewards, although I did have a choice of rewards cards issued by other banks, and forfeiting the accumulated rewards at the Company's discretion at any time seems inappropriate at best. In addition, one of the cards - Chase Sapphire Preferred - carried an annual fee of $95 paid in December 2012 or January 2013 for the entire year. The Company's representatives cited its policy that the fee was only reimbursable during the first 60 days of the card's usage. However, it only makes sense if the customer cancels the card not wanting to pay the fee. In my case it was the issuer, Chase, that cancelled the card with NO fault of my own and thus has partially deprived me of the benefit I paid for until the end of 2013 or January 2014.Desired Settlement: 1. Accumulated rewards - reinstatement of the rewards with an ability to transfer them out to an airline partner

2. Annual fee on Chase Sapphire Preferred card - pro rata refund

Review: I am writing you today to lodge a formal complaint against Chase Bank. This debt collector placed marks on all three of my credit reports [redacted] without proper notification, as I received no dunning notification as required by the FDCPA legislation. Credit reporting is considered collection activity. This company is in violation of the FCRA and FDCPA. Per the dunning remarks on all 3 credit reports, this company has reported inaccurate information. I respectfully request that they remove all derogatory information from my credit bureaus. By the FCRA/ FDCPA, this company is required to send a notice to me prior to implementing unsubstantiated and inaccurate information on my credit reports. I am requesting your office look into these allegations and help me procure a deletion from all three credit reporting agencies until this company can successfully validate my debt as they are mandated by law to do. I am not sure if this debt is mine or not, however, their inability to provide correct information, and their intentional act of misleading their reporting should be enough for your office to force their compliance in this issue. I hope you can help me out in this matter, as I am going through the mortgage closing process and this one account has completely derailed my home purchase. Thank you very much for your time!Desired Settlement: I respectfully request that all dunning remarks from Chase Bank be deleted from all three credit reporting agencies. I also request that a letter be sent to me stating that the account has been deleted.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

Based on a telephone conversation with a Chase Bank representative [redacted], she was unable to validate the alleged debt. She indicated that the information I provided in my Revdex.com complaint; telephone number and address, matched a DIFFERENT account currently held with Chase Bank, therefore she determined that the account in question was valid. Her ‘cross reference’ method of verification is unacceptable and does not comply with the FCRA.

I have questioned the validity of this account with multiple letters to Chase Bank, sent certified mail. The first letter was dated April 26, 2013 and others followed. Copies of each letter, along with delivery certificates are attached. Chase Bank did not respond, which is a direct violation of the FCRA.

I have also attached a copy of the letter issued by Chase Bank, dated August 14, 2013, responding to the Revdex.com dispute. As you will note, the information contained in this letter does not validate the alleged debt. It is misleading and contains conflicting information.

1. Chase Bank indicated that the telephone number on file for the account matches the telephone number provided in this inquiry. However, this is a misleading statement because I did not own the telephone number provided when Chase indicated the account was opened. This information confirms my statement above that the information provided was ‘cross referenced’ with a different account.

a. Since the telephone conversation was monitored and recorded, a solicited copy would verify my statement that [redacted] ‘cross referenced’ my information and is misleading with her information provided, which is another violation.

2. Chase Bank admits that they do not obtain a copy of the signed application. If this statement is true, then Chase cannot verify that I am the person(s) responsible for the alleged debt.

3. Chase Bank mentions that regular monthly statements were sent to my address, however, I never received statements, nor have copies been produced.

Chase Bank continues to implement negative information on all credit bureau reports without validation. It is their obligation under the FCRA to validate the information and report that information accurately. Chase Bank had a responsibility for insuring that the information they sold to a collection agency was though and accurate. Per their own admission, they have been unable to provide me with documents that will assist in determining my responsibility for the alleged debt.

I’ve been in contact with [redacted] the collection arm for [redacted], which is also listed on my credit bureaus. Both companies are subsidiaries of [redacted]

I do not wish to escalate this issue and respectfully request that the Revdex.com assist in deleting all dunning remarks on all three credit reporting bureaus, until such time, a written contract with my signature, along with supporting documents is forwarded to me.

Review: Disputed a $1540 charge from a contractor on my credit card. The contractor was doing work on a home I have for sell in another city. Chase issued a credit to my account March, 2013 and after 9 months, the charge was put back on my card for my January, 2014 statement. My contractor did not fulfill his agreed contract, he committed fraud by charging my credit card a second after he saw I disputed his charge. I provided Chase the contract details, a response in support of my realtor, hired an attorney who provided documentation and nothing that I disputed nor provided was sufficient for Chase. All Chase did was ask my contractor if he did the work which of course he said yes, and that was enough for Chase to think I was in th wrong and put the $1540 back on my credit card.

I will never ever recommend Chase to anyone. I have a high balance on my credit card, have never ever disputed a charge on any card I have had and am doing everything I can to move my balance and pay off this card so I do not give Chase another dime of my money.

No matter who I spoke to at Chase to get my dispute resolved, I spoke to a different person every time and no one would listen to me.

I am still in amazement that after all the evidence I provided, my contractor won this dispute after 9 months. He committed fraud actually twice, first by charging my credit card without my knowledge then signing the receipt with my name even misspelled.

Chase did nothing for the first 6 months and sat on this dispute.Desired Settlement: I want Chase to give me my $1540.

I want the president of Chase to contact me and tell me how this happened. No one at Chase handled this correctly. Do have a different person every time you call Chase which was at least 10 times is unacceptable.

Review: [redacted] account opened in 07/13/2008. this account is showing as a chaarged off bad debt. I need to speak with someone at Chase to receify this account.

This account was closed in November 2012 and to date, I have not been able to speak with anyone at Chase. I have been told there is no account under my name that is due.Desired Settlement: I need to speak with someone who is familiar with this account and who can justify the charges due to the fact that in Nov 2012 the account was written off as a bad debt. I can not move forward until this item has been taken care of. If there is someone I can speak with, please let me know

Review: I have had several problems on multiple credit cards with Chase. The main being the charging of interest. Basic process with the CC would be making a purchase in a statement period, having a due date for that payment, if that payment is not received by the due date - then all transactions in that statement period are charged interest; if the payment for the balance of the purchases made in that statement period is received before the due date - no interest is charged for purchases made within that statement period. Several times on multiple of my Chase CC's, I have received interest charges for transactions in which I had paid off by the end of the statement period. I submit a complaint through Chase, receive some scripted message back explaining how interest is charged, I then reply using dates and figures - after that I get a message back from someone with a higher title apologizing and then refunding the interest charged.

I feel Chase bank is charging people interest on account when the interest charge is not applicable. I shouldn't have to constantly defend my interest rate %, balance, or the general process of how interest is charged to credit cards every month.Desired Settlement: I would like Chase Bank to refund the interest charges I have pending, and for the government to do a large review of Chase's CC practices. I feel like many people would be effected.

Review: After seconds of booking a hotel stay and Disney World tickets on a questionable vacation website, I contacted Chase about my concerns. I spoke with a representative, who assured me that this would be taken care of, and that the charge would not appear on the new card and account I would be issued. After a month or so, I received a letter from Chase, stating that after "looking into it further," they deemed the charge valid because they could not get in touch with the website. I then submitted a letter disputing the outcome of their decision, stating very important information, that should have immediately raised some red flags against the company. First, being that I did not receive ANY confirmation what so ever for the hotel stay, second being that I still to this day have not received the Disney World tickets, and lastly, Chase provided the new credit card number to the vendor without my consent. After they received my letter and continued their investigation, they STILL could not reach the vendor and AGAIN deemed the charge valid. I don't see how the charge could be valid, since I have not received anything from this company for my vacation that was booked back in FEBRUARY, and Chase has yet to be successful in contacting the company.Desired Settlement: I would like the charge to be removed from my card, and be issued 50,000 reward points on to my account for the incredible inconvience this has caused me the past five months. I do not feel protected as customer of Chase, and feel like so much more could have been done to prevent such an issue, and also to prevent losing a customer.

Review: I am being charged $794.32 for a rental car disagreement from National/Eurocar that I did not approve. The charge was hand keyed 60 days after the rental, without my acknowledgement or signature. I disputed this charge but the "Customer Service Specialist" [redacted] refuses to act on this wrong doing. I rented this car on 6/22/13 for $350.11. (National quoted me a price of $78.20) I paid for their insurance and the clutch went out 24 hours later on 6/23 and they charged me $1,400.00 for the clutch. The total charge came to $1,658.92.I disputed this and Chase refused to my dispute. I thought this was over but, they allowed the second charge in August.I am refusing to pay this additional charge of $794.32. Thank youDesired Settlement: I would like a refund of $794.32.

I spoke with the representative and she investigated the matter fully. I do not like the response and I feel that I am being taken advantage of

but, it is by National Rental/EuroCar that I will pursue legal action. I will not hold Chase liable but, I will no longer use their services in the

future.

I thank the Revdex.com of Delaware for helping me get prompt action to my complaint.

Review: To whom it may concern:

Hello! On June 1, 2015, I made a balance transfer online from my Chase Slate Credit Card, account ending in - 30 to my HSBC Checking Account, ending in- 61, in the amount of $8888.00. My credit card was already charged, but when I checked my HSBC Checking Account online, the money was not there.

I have already contacted HSBC Bank regarding this matter, and I was told that the money never went through and they advise me to contact Chase regarding the issue.

I have contacted Chase, at least 5 times through email, and told them that I wanted to cancel the transaction and that I wanted a full refund. I received an email from them telling me that it usually takes 30 days for them to give the refund and that they are still "researching" the balance transfer, the email was sent to me June 15, 2015. It is now exactly 38 days and still I do not have the refund.

I am requesting for your assistance regarding this matter. Thank you very much for your time.

Sincerely yours,

Mr. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like for them to refund the total amount of $8888.00 and cancel the balance transfer fee as soon as possible so that I would not be paying interest for money that I did not receive.

Again, thank you for your help.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: This is about a transaction which I should get full credit in no time. This is a forgery.

First, I explain the situation happened on Mar 09, 2014 for a gas transaction in Cancun. I traveled to Tulum Cancun for vacation. This transaction was on the last day when I needed to fly back to NYC. The place is a gas station called [redacted]. I need to fill up my rental car gas tank before I returned my car. The person used a portable cordless credit card machine. When I first gave him my Chase Sapphire card. He swiped and said not working. I gave him my [redacted] then and he said again it was not working either. He said it might be reception problems or something else. I was short of pesos and finally I gave him USD instead. I remember it was $40 something USD. The person DID NOT hand me any receipt. Few days later, I checked on AE website and found out they charged on my [redacted] credit card for USD $49.78 then I checked Chase website on the same time, they charged to my Sapphire card as well for $99.19. I filed disputes to AE and Chase right away. Few weeks, I got the credit final decision from American Express without hassles. But I still got unfair and injustice decision from Chase after 5 months.

Here are the reasons I think Chase should consider my case.

1. It’s quite impossible that any customer would use two cards at the same time separately for filling gas in the same gas station.

2. My rental was small. I enclosed the rental receipt as well. The tank is 10 gallons. It’s impossible to fill up $150 USD into that car.

3. They falsified my signatures on the receipts.

4. My spending history each month is around $2,000 - $4,000 for the previous 2-3 years. There is no reason for me to spend tons of time fighting for this $99.19 if that was my valid charge.

5. Even the signatures on the receipt was wrong. Chase said they can’t validate and check if the signature is valid or not. Chase has the ability to get my signature from all different merchants back to few years. Why this would be my responsibility to prove that?

6. Chase asked me to give receipt for this transaction to prove I paid this by cash. But this merchant deceived this on purpose and didn’t give me any receipt. How I can give to Chase?Desired Settlement: I should get full credit for this transaction $99.19.

Review: On separate occasions that I know of I have been charged lat fees although I made sufficient payments both months. First was may of 2015 and again on june 2015. The reason stated was because although the second payment was made during the proceeding month, it was on the 2nd of the month so that payment went towards the last month. The first occurnece I called and was refunded 35.00, but was not informed that while I had made sufficient payments it was a date issue. I called today 11 July to inquire why I was charged a late fee in June when I had made a payment of 250.00 on the second and was told that the payment processed on the second day of the month so technically I made two payments in May and was considered late, and there was nothing that could be done. I am also in danger of the exact same issue in July since my payment for july posted on the second which means technically I was for june! that makes 500.00 paid in june on two separate occasions and I will be charged a late fee!!Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund of any and all late fees that have been charged due to this error. My payments are electronic via my bank and I cannot always control them getting delivered prior to the 3rd day, however if they are in the month and are more than the minimum payment, they cannot be "late".

Review: I entered into a settlement agreement with Chase. I completed all terms of that settlement agreement, and the account was closed.

I returned an item online. The credit was issued back to my original card (the account from Chase that was closed). I emailed Chase a copy of the notice to indicate the credit to my account. I was told to call [redacted] I spoke with [redacted] who forwarded me to [redacted].

After some searching, [redacted] found a credit to my account on 3/20/14 for $19.50, but stated that I would not receive the credit because it was applied to my "balance".

After the settlement agreement, which both parties (Chase and myself) agreed to, the balance would have been zero.

If the balance was not zero, why would I have had to claim the amount that was cancelled as "cancelled debt" when I filed my taxes. If the debt wasn't actually cancelled then I shouldn't have to claim it. If it was actually cancelled, then the balance would be zero.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that the $19.22 that was credited to my account ending in 0137 on March 19, 2014 from Lakeside Collection be honored, and a check be written.

Review: A Chase Credit card rep names [redacted] , refused to send my requested documentation in writing and approved false charges on my card.

[redacted] did not provide me with a claim or reference number. She stated I should have returned her voicemail sooner if I wanted to dispute a charge. She stated as a customer of s repair shop, I should have looked at the car before I paid. This is poor service and a poor excuse to tell a customer of a body shop as the common consumer isn't trained to see and detect engine or vehicle defaults.Desired Settlement: Chase charged me over $1,000 for repairs to my vehicle they did not complete. [redacted] stated she would only pursue the Westchase Meineke for $200. How did she come to the number of $200? If you can pursue them for $200 what made her decline the other $800?
