Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I stand by my original request for a monetary reimbursement for the following reasons:It's been a over year since we entered into the contract and a year since the work began and my contract has not been completed (still no gutters, still leaking, and the back roof is pointless) despite repeated attempts for resolution by this contractorThe response from him echoes the same excuses and promises he has repeatedly given me with resultsThe design for the fulfillment of this contract (front roof and back roof) was done by his companyHe has admitted that the design is flawed and now in his response to you he is trying pass that blame to me as the "designer" when I had nothing to do with itAll I did was tell him that I wanted a my front patio and my rear deck covered with a roofHis workers designed and installed the roofsThe contract specifies the details including metal flashing, brown metal roofing, and brown gutterThe contract does not include a design drawing, only dimensionsThe use of a "seamless" gutter was never part of the contractVerbally we discussed that it may be an option, but that a piece gutter may be the solutionI have repeatedly said that the gutter could be in pieces as long as I had the gutter installed correctlyHe has known this since the beginning and now he is trying to make the "seamless" gutter the issue, when it's notHis reference to my parent's home and the design being the same has bearing on this complaint and/or my contract with himAs stated this is not my "design" and for the record the roof that he installed at my parent's home was attached to their ranch (straight roof line) under the existing roof line; therefore, they have issues with leakageButthis really has nothing to do with my caseAs for his "bottom line offer," He has already sent his crews to my home on multiple occasions as stated in the initial filing (and he himself has been to my home several times) to attempt to fix the leakage issues (which he says I am now "claiming" like this news to him) & address the design flawsThey have been unsuccessfulI have confidence that a return visit by this company will resolve the issues with the roofs that they designed, installed, and have attempted to service. Also, he has repeatedly said that he will have the gutter installed since they started the work in June and he still hasn't done it

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
The reason that JR Construction could not obtain a building permit in July was because the company did not have NY State-mandated disability insurance, proof of which is required by the Town of Farmington in issuing building permits. But this is not what the complaint was about--it was about the company failing to complete the project by installing doors in the barn as per our contract. They wrote a bad check to the subcontractor who was hired by them to install the doors, and then stalled and bluffed until I had to leave the US for an extended trip abroad. They reasoned that, desperate to have project completed and insured before my departure, I would pay the subcontractor for door installation, and I did. Now I'm seeking to be reimbursed for the cost of the installation because JR Construction would neither pay for it (BAD CHECK) nor install the doors themselves. The fact that they visited the site and saw that the doors were installed by a subcontractor merely confirms the information in my complaint.I was trying to avoid small claims court and publicizing this case widely via social media (including filing a "scam alert" with the Ontario County Sheriff's office), which is my next step. However, if I receive the cost of installation ($ 1,380.00) immediately from JR Construction, that will end the matter. the choice is theirs. I want the payment in the form of cash or a money order, I will not accept a check from this company for obvious reasons

response taken over:  The reason the job was delayed was because she was not able to get a building permit from the town.  I had to get this for her.  The doors were put on by a subctractor that I have worked with numerous times. I drove out and checked the job and the doors were on.

Mr. [redacted] hired us to build a pavilion.  He paid us on completion all but $600.00.  Concrete pad cracked.  We were willing to repair it or refund $1200.00.  This is only complaint we know about.  Mr. [redacted] is using Pavillion at this time. He has a trailer under it.  We...

built it the way he wanted. Ed senior had a problem 15 years ago and has nothing to do with Ed Jr. or this project. JR  Construction Ed K Jr.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
My inspection report is attached. Inspection date 11/10/15.

Phone response - The only item missing on this job is the gutters. I can not get a seamless gutter company to come out for 42 ft of seamless. I can put the gutter up in two sections. If she claims there is a leak, I have no problem sending a crew out to address that. This roof was built to her...

design, I had done her parents the same way, and never had a problem. Bottom line, I can come out to address any leaks, and am willing to put up the gutter in two sections, but I can not get 42 linear feet in one piece.

After having an awful experience with a leaking roof, we met with Jamie [redacted] of [redacted]'s Roofing, Inc. at our home this week. Jamie was a refreshing face of hope for our home repairs. He was knowledgeable, personable and gave us the time and attention that we needed. He left us confident in recommending [redacted]'s Roofing to all of our friends and family as well as to strangers who will read our various reviews on the different platforms. Thanks again [redacted]'s Roofing! It might've been a small job this time but you've definitely gained all of our future business and we'll continue to pass along our experience.

I would recommend Dale Roofing to everyone. They stand behind their products. The workmen are very professional and ensure you are happy with the result. My husband had a concern reference my skylight being to bright, Jamie one of their workman came out and immediately took care of it. In the past our daughter had her roof checked. Rather then take advantage of her when the roof was checked they assured her it was fine and did not require replacing. Again the workman was Jamie. Great company great workers.

I would like to express my appreciation to [redacted] (a supervisor) for the follow up work from a job completed in December 2013. [redacted] arrived at our home, listen to my explanation and without hesitation, made the necessary repairs!
We have used Dale's roofing for over 20 years and have always had a positive result. Without a doubt I would highly recommend Dale's roofing, they provide excellent work, always clean up, and the very most important stand behind their work.

Congratulations to the best roofing company around. A special thanks to [redacted]!

jr construction built an addition on my home and there have been nothing but problems. The newest problem is leaking in the bathroom and closet whichwas never repaired and we just found out and I have proof there was never any insulation put in the ceiling and all of the wall insulation was put in backwards. I contacted them through email and asked them to come out to my home to see it and they never showed up at all and I have not been contacted by themDesired Settlementi am getting an estimate and would like them to pay itBusiness Response We, JR Construction Company built an addition at Mrs. [redacted] property back in 2012. As a responsible Company we follow all [redacted] Building Codes and Regulations. Every time Mrs. [redacted] had a concern, we answered her and resolve any matter. The lick Mrs. [redacted] has at her property now is not on the addition we built, but on the main house. The water goes down through the wall causing damages in the addition. When Mrs. [redacted] let me now about the lick at her property she specified that the lick has nothing to do with our work, her main concern was that the person from the Insurance told her that the ceiling has no insulation and that the insulation on the walls were installed backwards. But, back in 2012, before we closed the walls and ceiling with sheet rock a partial inspection from the Building Department was made and in the report clearly says that the walls, ceilings and floor had the proper insulation. We did went to Mrs. [redacted] house when she let us know about her concern and we talked to her and let her know that the addition we built has the proper insulation installed. Now, if she wants something different she must pay for her desire. Just to mention, after we finished the addition at Mrs. [redacted] house, we schedule with her to perform a final Inspection, but we only got to the bathroom since the door that goes to the bedroom in the addition was locked. We tried a few other times going with the Building Inspectors and nobody let us in.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This is not true. He never had a final inspection from the city because he choose not to. He came back to my house more than 10 times since he finished the original job to fix all the problems we were having with no heat leaking ect and I have all the emails to prove that. So for him to say we did not let him in is wrong completely. I never knew there was not a finaL inspection until the inspector showed up at my house and told me there was not one done.I did have ice dams on my roof which cased a leak and when the contractor came out and took the wet sheet rock off he noticed all of the shhet rock on the walls were put in backwards and the piece of ceiling he removed did not have any insulation at all. I emailed Jr construction and David came out and said oh we must have forgot to put insulation in just that part of the ceiling but the walls did not matter. I had the contractor pull all of the shhet rock off the walls and ceiling and I gave a video and all of the walls and the part of the ceiling that had insulation was put in backwards so there was no heat barrier in the walls or ceiling because the job was done backwards. The new contractor replaced the walls and ceilings and fixed everything the correct way including some of the ceiling joists were not straight and he even used fence posts in the ceiling so it all had to be redone. I sent Jr construction what my cost were going to be to fix this but because of all the additional work it is costing [redacted] to fix all the work he was paid XXXXX to doFinal Business Response Every Contractor works different, of course we all have to comply with the minimum code requirements, and that 's what we do, we always comply with at least the minimum code requirements. One of this requirements is to comply with the inspections. When we did a partial inspection for the insulation the Inspector saw that everything that needed insulation had it installed and it clearly stays that in the Inspection Report. Every time the costumer had a concern because of the work, we went there and solve the matter, of course if there was a complaint we couldn't bring the inspector with us to do the final inspection until the matters was taken care off. But after we finish with everything the Inspectors try to do their Inspections but no one let them in and it clearly stays that in the Inspection Report (the costumer has a copy of this Inspection Report). If after we comply with our work, some other contractor comes and says it could be finish different and the costumer wants what this contractor is saying the costumer has to pay for the changes she wants to make, this is consider extra work. My work was done properly complying with the minimum code requirements and the Building Inspector has approved it, We are base on the Building Codes and Regulations and not on some ones opinion.
