JR GARDNER, CPA, PC Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
It's truly unfortunate that this individual refuses to accept responsibility for not only his business's failure to complete the work within the time frame originally stated at the initial meeting, but then to make a personal attack against myself for firing Jacob after repeated delays is insaneJacob is a big boy, to put it mildly, if he got his feelings hurt because I rejected his statement of having to wait yet another week, that's a personal problemMy complaint resulted directly from this final interaction that made getting our taxes filed last well over a month, from when the paperwork was dropped off.
My contention, in filing, was that if our taxes were delayed past the deadline due to this firm's arrogance and disregard to not only our federal deadline but the timeline they originally stated; that they assume financially responsibility for any fees we would incur from the firm we had to take our paperwork to after their failureThis individual's assertion that we wound up going to a free tax service after firing them just shows how out of touch with the situation this individual is with our particular fileMalicious slander and statements of "verbal assault" are overly dramatic and an absolute misrepresentation of what actually happenedPerhaps if the respondent wasn't so busy putting off individual's filings for those he and/or his office deemed more lucrative, he wouldn't be so incredibly out of touch with what actually occurredI fired this firm and in the most respectful way possible, in the situation, was clear on whyNot once was Jacob yelled, screamed or cursed at as I explained how disrespectful I felt he had been in lying about the actual reasons vs what his own office staff was relaying before he even got on the phoneUpon picking up my paperwork, I noticed nothing had been done and did notify the man sitting at the desk that I would not be paying for anythingIf that's considered verbal abuse or assault, I truly don't understand how the staff of this office manages to function outside of their delusional safety bubble.
Nevertheless, the firm we wound up with was competent, respectful, efficient, less expensive, somehow managed to start from scratch after the wasted weeks caused by Gardner; and our taxes were completed and filed within weekWe made the deadline and therefore I expect nothing further other than this firm to completely destroy any trace of our personal information they might've kept, and have no further contact with usCopies of our id's and social security cards were not returned so this request has valid meritsIt's incredibly sad that the owner chose to respond this way, but given this community I wouldn't expect any less where accountability of wrongdoing is concerned
Regards,
*** ***

My firm has been in business for years and have never had a complaint to the Revdex.com.The person filing the complaint, who are military or former military, had their taxes prepared by a free service provided by *** ***My understanding of the *** *** tax preparation is that the
tax return is prepared while the tax client sits with them and then the tax return is provided to the client at that time.As a Certified Public Accounting Firm, CPA, our process is much more involved and detailed. There is the initial meeting with the client and then assigned to the appropriate tax preparerThere can be contact back and forth with the client until all questions are resolved and then the tax return is sent for another person to check the tax returnUpon completion by the checker it is sent to me for review and approval for final processing to be mailed, emailed or picked up by the clientIf your tax return is brought into us before April of the tax year, we will get the tax return prior to the due date, which was April 18, for the tax year. The client's tax return had gone through preparation and checking and was ready for my review. The complainant became very impatient and verbally abusive to our staffEven after her verbal abuse, we offered to complete her tax return for timely filing. The complainant insisted on taking her tax information with her.A summary of our timeline of the complainant's tax return is as follows:02/28/- Staff Accountant Met with *** and ***03/l 0/17- Email sent to *** with questions.03/10/17- Response received from ***- "will get info".03/12/Email from *** with info.03/22/- Tax return preparation completed; to Senior Accountant for checking.03/28/17- *** called and spoke to Staff Accountant.03/30/17- *** calledStaff Accountant advised tax return should ready for pickup by the weekend, if not, then Monday or Tuesday of the following week at the latest.03/30/17- *** called upsetWent on for to minutes, and informed Staff Accountant that she wanted to pick up her intormationStaff Accountant apologized for how she felt, and told her if she wanted, she could pick it up within the hourWhen she picked up her info she continued her verbal assault on our staff.Thank you for a review or our perspective.Very truly yours,Jerry RGardner Certified Public Accountant
