Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  I sent a msg to his business fb page on July 31 abt 12 pm telling him I was interested in bidding on the car and asking for instruction or contact to do so. My msg was read and 15 minutes later.  He has since changed the receipt to read read August 1 at 5pm. ( congrats I know how to change dates on posts too) it shows great integrity to alter a msg, he never contacted me. I spoke with a gentleman working the sale who said he advised against closing the sale as it wasn't posted to be sold ar a different time than the sale closed.  I had sent my son to the sale before I got there, I was enroute,  he inquired about the car and was told by a worker there that it was still for sale. This was at 11am!! I arrived and went straight to JR and was told he accepted a bid earlier. Apparently the sale was secretive enough the people working weren't aware of the sales close?  If you conduct your sales with the integrity that you claim there wouldn't be a need to alter the message I sent to you.  Many people work and cannot attend the sale before Weekend.  I wasn't there too see your advertised price as you say. Where in any of your advertisements did it say the car would be sold at a different time? Your client needs know that I was fully prepared up to 20,000 you cost them a great deal of money by not following your written advertisement. I'd like their name so I can't make certain they know the truth.

Resolution would be to stop advertising a sale in a manner the he refused to follow through.

At opening time (8am) on Thursday July 30th I publicly announced that we would accept sealed bids on the car if the asking price was not met. This announcement was repeated to all interested parties...

throughout the sale. All bidders were aware of that requirement. I announced that I would close bids at 10am on August 1st; awarding the highest bidder the sale of the car at 11am.  When I have had vehicles to sell this is the traditional manor of doing it, since I need the sale cleared before the end of business on thethird day.  We had 8 bids, one retracted.  I have kept the bid sheets from those bids and have provided copies of the bids (minus the retracted one) to the daughters of the estate.  No where in our advertising did we state the car would be available until 3pm on the third day.  Since someone could have purchased it for the asking price on the first day. I did not personally know the winning bidder or any of the bidders. I've done estate sale liquidations for over 10 years; I'm well known in the industryas being fair and impartial.  It is my policy to never show favoritism to people I know.  I am sorry she missed out on the opportunity to purchase the vehicle.  I am unsure of the validity of her statement to having cash on hand.I saw no evidence to that effect.  It seems to me that if anyone was that interested in purchasing the vehicle she would have been presentat 8 am on the first sale day.  Sincerely,James R[redacted]
