JR's Euless Transmission Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11474712, and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute.
I have been out of the country and haven't been able to respond to the complaint. I just got home today, 7/3, and checked my email and saw that the complaint was closed. Please allow me to respond since I was unable to check my email while I was out of the country. Jr's Transmission took $3,595.00 from me and did not fix my car and have yet to reconcile with me. I don't think it's fare to say the complaint is resolved. At the very least I think they should have a bad mark against them with the Revdex.com to prevent this from happening to another consumer! Below are the comments to the response from business that I wanted to include in my rejection. Please consider allowing me to respond. With my husbands car I would have got a rental car either way because my warranty pays for one. He gave me a piece of junk truck that I didn't even drive because I didn't feel comfortable driving around with my 2 yr old in the front seat as it was a single cab truck and that is completely irrelevant to this complaint so I don't know why he keeps bringing it up. And yes he didn't charge me a deductible but he told me that he does that for all of his customers so why would he do any different for me. And once again whoever fixed my alternator the first time is irrelevant because I took it to [redacted] a "professional" to diagnose and fix my car the right way which it is still not fixed. I paid $3,595 to fix several things on my car so I can have reliable transportation and yet my car is parked in my driveway because it is not fixed. And yes [redacted] claims that he will warranty his work but I'm sure it will come at an additional cost and I have no more money. He says he won't charge me anything but after he does the work he will make an excuse to charge me more money and hold my keys hostage until it's paid. And yes my husband and mother in law came up there but is was to pay and not to cause a seen. And my mother in law is a law enforcement agent and only came up there to keep the peace. My husband tried to pay when he got there but [redacted] refused to take his card so he left to go get cash. My mother in law stayed behind to make sure [redacted] wasn't going to close up before he got back. She was not obstructing his business and the police officer that [redacted] called up there  even told her that she was well within her rights and was not doing anything wrong. Once again I have everything recorded if you would like to hear it. Regardless if [redacted] has anything else to say or not I still have plenty to say and will not give up even if I have to take him to court which I am in the process of doing and my lawyer says I have a strong case! Thank you for your consideration to allow the complaint to be reopened until it is actually resolved. [redacted]

AS [redacted] NOTED SHE SPENT 3500 TO FIX SEVERAL ISSUES WITH HER CAR. THE ONLY THING WE DID TO THE CHARGING SYSTEM WAS REPLACE THE POSITIVE SIDE BATTERY CABLE END BECAUSE IT WAS CORRODED AND THE ALTERNATOR WAS CHARGING FINE. NOW WHAT [redacted] FAILED TO TELL YOU IS THAT HER HUSBAND AND FATHER CHANGED...

HER ALTERNATOR ALONG WITH THE BATTERY LAST SEPTEMBER. WHEN [redacted] PICKED HER CAR UP THE CHARGING SYSTEM WAS WORKING FINE, OBVIOUSLY A INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. WHEN THE CAR CAME BACK TO ME TO RECHECK HER VEHICLE HER AMPLIFIER FUSE HOLDER WAS DISCONNECTED AND ARCING ON THE TRANSMISSION, DONT KNOW IF THEY UNDID IT OR NOT, I DONT THINK IT WAS ON PURPOSE, BUT  IGOT A NEW FUSE HOLDER FOR HER CAR AT NO CHARGE TO HER. NOW AFTER WE DROVE THE CAR ON WEDNESDAY AFTER REPAIRING THE FUSE HOLDER THE ALTERNATOR STARTED RANDOMLY NOT CHARGING SO AT THIS POINT WE DETERMINED THE ALTERNATOR WAS DEFECTED, I CALLED [redacted] AND HAVE PHONE RECORDS TO PROVE, I ASKED [redacted] TO CALL OREILLYS TO CHECK ON HER WARRANTY, SHE CALLED ME BACK TO TELL ME IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND IT WAS UNDER HER HUSBAND BRODERICK WATSONS NAME, SO I ASKED HER FOR [redacted] PHONE NUMBER AND TOLD HER I WOULD GO UP AND GET THE ALTERNATOR FOR HER. THE REASON I DID THAT WHICH BY NO MEANS DID I HAVE TO IS BECAUSE AT THIS TIME SHE WAS ALREADY AT WORK, AND TO MAKE THIS PROCESS A LITTLE EASIER DUE TO THE INCOVIENCE. WHEN WE STARTED TO TAKE THE ALTERNATOR OFF, HER TOP BOLT AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAME RIGHT OFF, NOW WHEN WE TRIED TAKING THE BOTTOM BOLT OUT IT JUST KEPT SPINNING AND SPINNING BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN CROSS THREADED. I WAS NOT GOING TO CHARGE [redacted] INITIALLY FOR CHANGING OUT THE ALTERNATOR BECAUSE SHE HAD SPENT ALOT OF MONEY BUT THE BOTTOM ALTERNATOR BOLT TOOK CLOSE TO THREE HRS TO GET OUT ALONG WITH REPAIRING THE AMP FUSE HOLDER ETC. I TALKED TO [redacted] WEDNESDAY NIGHT  OR THURSDAY MORNING BEFORE THE BOTTOM BOLT HAD BEEN EXTRACTED TO INFORM HER I WAS GOING TO  CHARGI 1 HR OF LABOR WHICH IS 95 WHICH I THINK IS MORE THAN RESONABLE SEEING HOW WE SPENT A TOTAL OF 3 TO 4 HRS ON HER VEHICLE,SHE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THAT AT THAT TIME STATING, I UNDERSTAND BECAUSE SHE KNEW THE BOLT HAD SOME ISSUE, SAYING HER DAD OR HUSBAND SAID THE BOLT WAS TO LONG WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE. SHE HAD THE OPPURTUNITY TO PICK THE CAR UP THURSDAY BUT DECLINED TO SAYING SHE WOULD PICK IT UP FRIDAY, OF WHICH THEN SHE CHANGED HER MIND ON WANTING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRES, AGAIN WE DIDNT CHAGE HER ALTERNATOR ON ORIGINAL INVOICE AND WASNT GOING TO CHARGE HER FORCHANGING THE ALTERNATOR BUT WHEN WE GO AND GET THE ALTERNATOR FOR HER, REPLACE AMP FUSE HOLDER AT NO CHARGE AND SPENDING THE AMOUNT OF TIME WE SPENT ON EXTRACTING THE BOLT I THINK 1 HR OF LABOR IS MORE THAN FAIR, AND WITH HER CALLING THE POLICE , HER MOTHER INLAW COMING UP HERE, HER BELIGERANT HUSBAND COMING UP HER SCREAMING AND YELLING, THEY TOOK UP ABOUT 5 HRS OF MY TIME ON FRIDAY, ALONG WITH HOW HAVING POLICE AT MY SHOP TWICE THAT DAY IS BAD FOR BUSINESS. I HOPE I ANSWERED ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE ANY REMAINING QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT ME AT ###-###-#### SINCERELY [redacted]

I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO SAY, OTHER IT SURE IS FUNNY HOW ON HER HUSBANDS CAR I NOT ONLY GAVE HER A VEHICLE TO DRIVE , HELPED HER OUT WITH HER DEDUCTIBLE,  AND FINISHED THE JOB THREE DAYS EARLIER THAN EXPECTED. ON HER CAR THERE WAS ONE ISSUE....... AN ALTERNATOR I DIDNT REPLACE. IT SURE IS FUNNY THAT NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE IS ALL OF THESE OTHER ISSUES WITH HER CAR, IT KINDA MAKES YOU WONDER. [redacted] KNOWS AS IT STATES ON HER INVOICE IF THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE WORK I PERFORMED SHE HAS A WARRANTY. AS I STATED IN MY FIRST RESPAONSE SHE WAS ONLY CHARGED 1 HR FOR ABOUT THREE TO FOUR HRS OF WORK WHICH IF HER HUSBAND AND DAD WOULDNT HAVE CROSS THREADED THE LOWER BOLT THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO CHARGE........ [redacted] ALSO FAILED TO MENTION HOW NOT ONLY DID SHE COME UP HERE AND CAUSE A SCENE, HER HUSBAND AND MOTHER INLAW DID AS WELL. HER MOTHER INLAW REFUSED TO LEAVE MY SHOP AND THE WHOLE ORDEAL COST ME RUOGHLY 5.5 HRS NOT INCLUDING ACTUAL WORK SO ONCE AGAIN I FEEL 1 HR OF LABOR IS MORE THAN FAIR.          THANKS [redacted]     ###-###-####

I told [redacted] when I dropped my car off initially, before he diagnosed it, the issues that I was having. Those issues included my break light and battery light flashing and the loss of power while driving in addition to some other stuff . The issue may have been "intermittent" like he said but it was happening when I dropped it off. When I googled and searched on you-tube the symptoms that my car was having, everything that I came across stated that it was the alternator. I told [redacted] that my alternator and battery had recently been replaced when I talked to him the first time about my car however I knew that there was still something wrong. Seeing as how my car is a 2003, the alternator that was put in my car last September was refurbished because they don't make new ones anymore. Him being a "professional" mechanic should know that it was refurbished and may not work properly. I took my car to a professional to diagnose it and fix it because I wanted it fixed right and to be warrantied and who replaced my alternator before was irrelevant! Before I told him to start the work on my car I asked him repeatedly if the cost was going to cover the battery/break light flashing and loss of power issue, the oil issue, fixing my passenger window, and all of the other things that he "found" that needed to be fixed. He assured me that it was going to cover everything. When I picked up my car from him on Wednesday I had only driven my car 15-20 miles max over the next 2 days and hadn't taken it on the highway until Saturday. Shortly after getting on the highway for the first time, was when my check engine light came on and I begin having the same issues as I did before he "fixed" it. So I immediately sent him a text message telling him that I was going to bring it back to him on Monday. After that I had parked my car and didn't drive it again until I took it back to him. When I was giving him the key he told me that he was not going to charge me even if he had to replace the alternator and at that time he showed me the brand of alternator that he would replace it with which was not the same brand I currently had which meant he would have to come out of pocket on a new alternator. Of course he is going to try to avoid replacing the alternator to save him some time and money so he tells me that it is the fuse (which I had no idea where it was located so I could not have broken it). After he replaced that he realized that it was the alternator and is now going to have to spend more time and money. When he called me to tell me about the alternator I reminded him that I had recently replaced it so he then tells me to call O'Riley's to see if it was still under warranty, which would obviously save him some money. Yes he did do all the leg work of taking it barely 2 miles up the street to exchange it but I don't know another mechanic that would make his customer come pick up a part to exchange it and bring it back to him, it's called customer service! [redacted] called me Thursday morning to tell me that the bolt was just spinning and spinning and he was having a hard time getting it out. At that time he still didn't mention anything about charging me any extra money. When he called me to tell me it was ready I was at work and told him I would pick it up tomorrow. He did tell me at that time he was going to charge me an hour of labor which I verbally agreed to because I couldn't get into it with him over the phone about the cost because I was at work. I also didn't want him to any damage to my car overnight if I would have disagreed with him at that time about the charge. He changed his mind about charging me so I changed mine about paying him. If he would have told me Thursday morning about charging me I probably would have told him not to continue and I would figure out a way to get the alternator out and exchange it for him to put it back in. Yes the alternator was not on the original invoice because he didn't replace it and even if he did it was under warranty so it still wouldn't have been on the invoice! He miss diagnosed my car not once but twice. He should have done it right the first time and went ahead and exchanged the alternator and charged me for the labor the first time instead of charging me for a cable and labor to replace it that probably didn't even need replacing and then charging me the second go around for labor on the alternator. He also just cleared the check engine code and didn't even look into why it was on. Now, a couple of weeks later (6/10/16) my check engine light is back on and my car is still losing power every time I drive on the highway. The first time it lost power after picking it up was not even a week later when driving home from the store. It happened again a week later on 6/10/16 when I was driving on the highway in the fast lane going about 65 mph with my 2 year old in the back seat. When I pulled over on the left hand shoulder and turned my car off and turn it back on it didn't want to start again. It finally started after about 10 minutes. I drove it to my destination and let it rest for about an hour and a half. On my way home, as soon as I pulled out of the parking lot and began to turn into a very busy intersection it did it again. I caused everyone to miss the light and the person behind me nearly rear ended me with my baby in the back seat. I turned it off at the light and tried restarting it and it took a couple of tries before it started again. When I was on almost home it did it again!. The problem is still not fixed! In addition to this issue not being fixed properly I also had him repair an oil issue and do an oil change. Last Wednesday 6/8/16 my car sounded funny when I started it up so I decided to turn it off and check the oil in which I found the dipstick to be completely dry! The next day I drove it to a local lube place to get my car inspected and another oil change. The attendant told me I still had 900 miles left on my sticker from the last time I got an oil change there, which was last year, so he would top it off for me for free. I explained to him that I had just had an oil change a couple of weeks ago somewhere else and it was fine if he needed to charge me for the oil and he said don't worry about it. So the oil problem that [redacted] supposedly fixed was also not done properly or miss diagnosed because I am still having to put oil in my car every week or so. Lastly, my car sounds horrible when driving it. About a week after I picked it up the second time I began to notice that every time I went over a bump or dip in the road I would hear noises under my car that I should definitely not hear. It sounds like I have lose parts under my car or like the parts weren't installed right. It's hard to describe the sound but I recorded the noise on my phone one day while driving through my neighborhood. He replaced my passenger side axle, front struts, front strut mounts, rear shocks, rack and pinion, outer tie rod ends, and sway bar links along with some other stuff but I don't think it was done properly. Which none of this surprises me now because before I took my car to him I took my husband's SUV to him for some repairs which was covered by the extended warranty that we paid for when we purchased the vehicle. He fixed the AC and replaced the motor mounts and after I had already told him to begin work on my car we began hearing a knocking noise under the hood every time we would accelerate. So I took it back up to him to look at and one of his employees noticed that a bolt on the motor mount wasn't tightened. He tightened the bolt immediately and I haven't heard the noise since. Had that had happened before I authorized him to do work on my car I would have thought twice about getting him to fix my car. The only things that he fixed on my car that I actually think were done properly are the power steering pump, pressure line and fluid, the alignment, and the passenger side front window. I am in the process of finding another mechanic to give me a second opinion on the repairs that [redacted] made because my car is still not fixed after spending $3,595 on it at Jr's Transmission and Complete Auto Service. I am also looking for a new car because my car is still not fixed and I don't have any more money to pay for repairs! On his business card it clearly states ALL WORK GUARANTEED which I guess didn't apply to me. In 3 weeks [redacted] made a little of $4,700 off of my husband and I and he still wanted another $95 from me which was ridiculous! Yes, my the warranty paid for my husband's SUV and we didn't have to come out of pocket for the repairs but he still got paid and even told me when I went to pick up the SUV that the warranty place paid him more money then what he charges. So he made extra money from that transaction and $3,500 from my transaction and still wanted more money. I think he was trying to take advantage of me because I am a woman and it would be easy to do so. If you need receipts, the audio that was taken on the day that we picked up my car, the police report, the audio from the noise that my car is making when driving over bumps or dips or a statement from the attendant at the lube place I will be happy to submit them. I also have phone records of me calling him over and over again to find out the status of my car and only inbound calls from him to return my calls. I can also provide a statement from the lady that I spoke with from [redacted] regarding the additional charge. If you need any of these items I can be reached at ###-###-####.  [redacted]
