To whom it may concern,I would like to respond first to the statement in relation to the timing of the projectWhen the contract was signed it was made clear to you that it was pending weather and availability of our crewsYes you did call which you were told that you were still on the list and that your roof would be done before winterI understood your concern as the winter months were coming fast but I assured you that it would be done before winterwas upon usIn regards to the [redacted] roofing project our estimate did not include any flashing repair or replacement of any chimney components. The chimney has numerous large voids and cracks in the masonry coupled with the water damage to the interior showing that this has been going on for much more than monthsWater stains to the exterior of the chimney, location of the water damage, size of the water spot, all are indicative of a porous material that has collected and expelled large amounts water for a very long time period of timeAs Mr [redacted] pointed out, although the water damage was present before JS Construction Consultants completed the roof, it has gotten worse over the past monthsAs with any leak they will get progressively worse but with a chimney in particular it is a porous material that can actually hold water and dispel it all at onceThus a much larger amount of water is released at once rather than a slow constant drip which we would see in a typical non-obstructed water intrusionWith the very hard wind driven rain we've had during the months of February and March, it is my professional opinion that it is the voids and cracks in the chimney tuck pointing that are allowing water to enter the home, there are no faults in our installation or workmanship of the roof.As for the tire replacement and the alleged nails left on the worksite this is the first we have heard of thisWe would have addressed this immediately if it was brought to our attention in a timely mannerEven though our protocol is to leave every job clean and free of debris sometimes we may miss some nails but it is also our protocol that any time a customer calls with a cleanliness concern we are to immediately address the situationPlease submit a receipt for nail removal or tire replacement due to nail and we will promptly reimburse you.As stated when we came to evaluate the damage, we are willing to re-counter flash your chimney at no cost to you, but this will not fix the problemThis will continue leaking until the chimney tuck pointing has been addressed or the chimney has been removed

To whom it may concern,I would like to respond first to the statement in relation to the timing of the project. When the contract was signed it was made clear to you that it was pending weather and availability of our crews. Yes you did call which you were told that you were still on the list and...

that your roof would be done before winter. I understood your concern as the winter months were coming fast but I assured you that it would be done before winterwas upon us. In regards to the [redacted] roofing project our estimate did not include any flashing repair or replacement of any chimney components. The chimney has numerous large voids and cracks in the masonry coupled with the water damage to the interior showing that this has been going on for much more than 6 months. Water stains to the exterior of the chimney, location of the water damage, size of the water spot, all are indicative of a porous material that has collected and expelled large amounts water for a very long time period of time. As Mr. [redacted] pointed out, although the water damage was present before JS Construction Consultants completed the roof, it has gotten worse over the past 6 months. As with any leak they will get progressively worse but with a chimney in particular it is a porous material that can actually hold water and dispel it all at once. Thus a much larger amount of water is released at once rather than a slow constant drip which we would see in a typical non-obstructed water intrusion. With the very hard wind driven rain we've had during the months of February and March, it is my professional opinion that it is the voids and cracks in the chimney tuck pointing that are allowing water to enter the home, there are no faults in our installation or workmanship of the roof.As for the tire replacement and the alleged nails left on the worksite this is the first we have heard of this. We would have addressed this immediately if it was brought to our attention in a timely manner. Even though our protocol is to leave every job clean and free of debris sometimes we may miss some nails but it is also our protocol that any time a customer calls with a cleanliness concern we are to immediately address the situation. Please submit a receipt for nail removal or tire replacement due to nail and we will promptly reimburse you.As stated when we came to evaluate the damage, we are willing to re-counter flash your chimney at no cost to you, but this will not fix the problem. This will continue leaking until the chimney tuck pointing has been addressed or the chimney has been removed.
