Home inspection for first time homebuyers
Three years ago, my husband and I bought our first home. Our realtor recommended JT inspections and their inspector Carlton Moore, did our inspection. He blatantly lied on our inspection report and put we had copper pipes. We did not know until recently, that we have polybutylene pipes. We want to sell our home. It is going to cost us over $12,000 plus to get the correct piping. We reached out to JT inspections to give them the opportunity to make things right. Their excuse was Carlton Moore is no longer with the company, their insurance is not going to bother, and our time for help has run out. What kind of company is this? No accountability for the mess they created? Is it fair to us that we were given wrong information from an inspector they hired and that we might lose out on potential sales for this issue? Many of you gave this company excellent ratings as if they have integrity, they do not. Make money off the misinformed and ignorant. I was wondering how many people their inspector did this to and I see it occurred more than once. Now, we have to get our lawyer. Maybe we should get a class action lawsuit. By the way, we are still within the Florida Statute of Limitations. They need to read. I was wondering if it was racial, but it is not. It's greed and selfishness. This is a matter of principle and apparently the owner has none.

On December 30, 2017 JT Property inspections was hired to perform an home inspection for the purchase of my current home at *** Fl XXXXX. *** came out to the home and inspected the home. On the inspection report the employee of the company documented that I had copper and PVC plumbing. Fast forward January 31, 2018 I closed on the house. On March 11th an inspector from my homeowner insurance came to inspect the home. Upon inspection it was revealed that my home was full of polybutylene plumbing which has been outdated for years. On April 14, 2018 I received an letter from my insurance company stating they were going to drop me May 8 th due to my plumbing. Upon buying the house my homeowners insurance for the year was 2100 dollars. Upon discovery of the plumbing the cheapest annual homeowners insurance I could find is 6500 dollars where I wouldn't be able to afford my mortgage. I notified the company about the situation and they wouldn't take responsibility. Now I paid over 8000 in plumbing I have patches all over the drywall in the house. There were many things in addition to this that were documented that worked in this house but didn't work at all. I wasn't able to make an informed decision on buying this home because my inspector was negligent. The bare minimum an inspector is supposed to know is the type of plumbing in a home. It wasn't like the plumbing was all behind the walls, the plumbing was clearly visible under all sinks in the home and the in the pipes coming from the toilet. When I reaches out to the owner of the company I was told all I could so to him was leave him bad reviews. If another inspector came into the home and in five minutes saw that the plumbing was outdated why couldn't he? Clearly the employee was not knowledgeable or didn't care to do his due diligence. Proof of all the information provided above is available upon request. Thank you.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would like to be reimbursed for plumbing cost, dry wall, paint and labor. In addition to this I would like a full refund of all inspection costs due to negligence and lack of proper documentation of plumbing.

we purchased our house in April 2017 and had it inspected on Feb 21 2017. The inspector told us the house was fine and now we have a cracked foundati
G.A."***" *** inspected the house that we were planning to purchase on 2/21/17 for $500.00. There was a questionalble area in a bedroom where a wall was previously fixed and the floor looked like there was water damage. When asked *** said that it was fixed and not a problem. states on inspection Settlement crack noted that are concidered normal. And that there was water damage on the floor that recomended replacing.

He let me know the repairs made in that room are fine.

After the hurricane we noticed when we moved the storage in that room there was more water stains on the floor and water on a mattress. we called a plumber who stated we needed to call a contractor who has noted that there is a huge crack in the foundation that goes from the front of the house that goes around the side of the house and to the back. the crack goes to the inside of the house. The repairs are going to cost over 7,000.00 and they have found mold in the walls. I have contacted the inspector and they will not call me back - they keep saying they have to talk to the inspector. If I would have known this in the begining I would not have purchased this house.

Desired Outcome

I want then to at least refund me the 500.00 i paid them along with them listed in the Revdex.com. At most I would like some additional compensation for all of this problem I now have to deal with.
