JT's Landscaping & Lawn Care

JTs Landscaping came to install a patio and in the process their equipment destroyed my lawn. They have yet to repair my lawn which they tore up.On July 25, 2016 JTs landscaping came out to install a patio in my backyard. They completed the job on July 27, 2016 and initially it looked good. In the process they removed a portion of my wooden fence to get their bobcat through to the back yard. They had to travel from the street, across the front and side yards and then to the back carrying loads of gravel, sand and bricks. This process tore up the lawn and created a path of dirt and patchy grass on my entire lawn including the front, side and back. I have made several requests to have them repair this, but little has been done.l My first request came on July 27th before they left. I noticed them making an attempt to fix the grass by putting down sod. I asked them if that would work as the sod was brown and they simply placed it on top of rocky areas where the bobcat had worn away the grass. They said as long as I water it then it should be fine. I watered it and it was not fine. Also I had to remove several small buckets of large rocks that they left all over my lawn. If I had not removed them then I wouldn't be able to mow my lawn. I had asked about the rocks and they had promised to clean those up as well and never did. Finally after several emails and excuses (they were over-booked, they had scheduling issues, etc.) [redacted] sent some guys out on September 20, 2016 to fix the lawn. [redacted] was out to view the lawn and cracks in the patio seams several weeks earlier and admitted that the workers "dropped the ball" on repairing the lawn. He promised to get me on the schedule, but it took almost five weeks for that to happen. So when the guys came out to the house last Tuesday, September 20, 2016 all they did was throw handfuls of seed on top of the dead sod. When I emailed [redacted] and told him about it, he said he should seed in 7-10 days. Well, it rained every day that week and most of the seed got washed away due to the heavy downpours. The repairs they made to the cracks in the seams of the pavers was made with a darker sand mixture than what was originally used. I have no desire to speak with JTs landscaping again as I have been more than patient and kind. I signed a contract and kept my end of the deal unlike them. I am very disappointed as I was originally impressed with them and it bothers me that this is going on three months now that I have to deal with this. I am now in the process of getting quotes from more reputable landscapers to see what it will cost to have my yard repaired and to have the patio repaired as it now has a bulge in it as well.Desired SettlementI would like a partial refund for the money I paid for them to do the job I paid them to do. It is quite evident to me that JTs Landscaping does not seem to be willing or able to do the job correctly.Within 24 hours of filing a complaint with Revdex.com, the owner of the company phoned me and offered his apologies. He then stated he would come to my home to see what needed to be done to rectify the problem. He came out the next day and took the time to look at all the issues of concern. He then went to his office and emailed me a detailed plan of action including an approximate date when they would complete the work. Unfortunately, due to Hurricane [redacted] the work got delayed. However, the very next business day which is today, JT's Landscaping was out in the morning to work on the lawn and the patio. They actually exceeded my expectations and what they were required to do. They planted grass seed in areas where they originally didn't even tread. They repaired the pavers and replaced the correct colored sand. They pulled up all the dead sod and and replaced with seed and covered with hay. They also replaced the black trim around the paver stones and filled in the areas around the entire patio which is something that was never done previously.I am very thankful to [redacted], the owner and for his follow through with this project. I was so distraught initially knowing that the job was not done properly. I am very pleased and my yard will soon be looking great; of that I am certain. I appreciate the involvement with the Revdex.com in helping me resolve this issue. Resolution completed.
